Nice review! I've been using the f21pro for the past year and it's been so fun! I've got Mint Mobile and live in a big city and haven't seen much spottiness with service. I put a minimalist launcher on it for that digital minimalism lifestyle I'm leaning towards and text with swype, which makes it a breeze to text quickly with just my thumb (although I do love doing t9 with the numpad some days). I was surprised by what it could and couldn't do like it could run snes emulators but didn't have an accelerometer which makes the gps less efficient. Great phone for those who want simplicity and are willing to tweak it a bit with third party apps to make it compatible for their lifestyle.
Hey hey! new vid. Always good to see something new. Hope you're well Yo And looking at the phone... I bet it weighs less than a chicken feather XD "Old enough to remember" I grew up in the Bullet proof Nokia days :D
Bought this phone, it works great, battery is really good, but i have concerns if its safe to use email and banking apps on it. What do you think about data safety of this phone?
I'm pretty convinced to get this, except for one thing that I'm unsure about, though it's more of an issue with the physicality of the phone rather than its specs. A lot of vintage dumbphones disable the keypad when locked - presumably to make sure no butt dials or pocket dials are happening while on the move. Is it the same with the F21 Pro keypad?
how does lineage os hold up compared to the default os? the icons seem smaller which seems a bit harder on the eyes. still debaiting on whether i would use lineage os or the default one
I want one of these as universal TV remote. I could use the IR blaster to control the volume. I downloaded apps like the Firestick remote. I don't know why no one has be a made an android power remote that clones the Bluetooth remote like a firestick remote.
Hi!❤ Minut 2:34 it is just what i'm looking for! In Spain we use this kind of T9 🙏 I've recently bought the F22 Pro. The spanish system of T9 doesn't work on it. I would change it and buy F21 like yours if this kind of T9 works on it. Have you installed it this way? Or the phone works like this itself? I don't want Gboard, i want exactly what you show on the video. Should I choose an special option when I buy it? Or rather install something? Thanks a lot!!😊
Thanks for your comment. I installed a LineageOS unofficial port from A.I.V on XDA forums. For the software keyboard I used Yandex keyboard but the T9 keyboard I used the included system from that custom ROM. You might be able to find a Magisk module for a spanish T9 keyboard. Not sure.
Hey man, I don't understand on the first place why did you put Lineage OS on it. The original UI is actually de-googled and better optimized to the screen, than Lineage and you can still install any apps from 3rd party app stores.
It sounds like you modified it to use more the US bands, interesting you're still getting poor reception. I couldn't use mine when I first bought it, but a year later stumbled across the guide on unlocking the other bands. In my experience, at least where I am in Maryland, I'm getting close to, if not the same reception as my iPhone...
What you’re showing is not T9 texting. It’s just using the keys. T9 is predictive texting using a phone keyboard. Meaning the phone suggests words after you type. An evolution to what you’re doing in the video. I’d be curious to know if this phone supports actual T9.
@@dumbcomputing- Not a memory but my reality. I'm an amputee who just needs to be able to make calls and text while walking around without drama and a smartphone would be a total pain with little upside. My Nokia C2-01 from 2012 still serves me well. Internet hasn't been usable for many years but I can live with that and T9 still rocks :) While some UK networks will start to switch off 2G/3G later this year, the O2 network that I use should be good for a year or so yet and then we'll have to see.
Hey, I was wondering if you could do a visual guide to installing LineageOS please!

"Let's zoom in way too close for some reason" :) haha!! Like your style
I'll be honest... 4 GB of ram ain't bad for a phone this bad
i suppose not
@@dumbcomputingIt definitely isn’t, considering modern iPhones like the iPhone 13 only has 4 😂
yay! new vid. thanks man! pretty interesting, might look into seeing what it can do more

i never had a bulletproof nokia but i remember them!
good job. Whats the procedure on lineageOS installation.

I have the same fear. That’s why I don’t buy it.
Hello @dumbcomputing - could you please provide some links to guides/info on how you managed to install lineageOS? Thank you for your video!

Yes, the keys are locked
that camera is perfect to make 2000s videos like
yes
2:34 yet you are not using T9 keyboard here...
good catch, I meant to edit the video in where I was using full T9 predictive text
how does lineage os hold up compared to the default os? the icons seem smaller which seems a bit harder on the eyes. still debaiting on whether i would use lineage os or the default one
Its smaller coz its reversed (hires icon on lowres screen)

The f22 does
It looks like that rubin guy phone too(,the proto 2nd gen)
I've been looking for something like this for for ever, if this works better in EU I might just get one
yeah, i'm not sure about the EU but if it worked better in the US I would definitely use it more.
@@dumbcomputinghow much for f21,any info on the 22
I have this one too, Can I have ur custom firmware? Looking for this phone to be my daily driver
This is not my custom firmware. It is LineageOS 18.1 by AIV on xda forums. I simple search should bring that up :)
@@dumbcomputing what modification did you do to make volte work?

4gb ram and 64 storage ? that is unheard of in such devices, usually it will be 512mb-2gb ram and 8-16gb storage.
Damn, if it had NFC I would buy it.
right. it's a very interesting phone for sure
Its a A22 chip like 2017 lowend tier one, 2/16 is so 2015 lowend like redmi 4a
Lol why they put selfie cam there i thought only sharp did this a decad ago
Please help what keyboard did you install?
