I love that the main character doesn't have any special powers or born with magical gifts. He's a below average guy that simply works harder than anyone else to be the best.
Please don’t make me sit in a room with Richard for 2 hours 😭 On a real note, thank you for the encouraging comment - we just might have to try for some longer videos!
@@2ToRamble a good idea for longer form content instead of doing a lot of editing you could upload a unedited cut to a Patreon then a edited version on the channel. The Patreon would also let you guys try and find a editor.
I came across your account through a random Instagram reel and I find your analysis entertaining even tho I'm not a big book reader, I will try to check this book out, thanks!! Best of luck on your podcast!
I just finished The Rage Of Dragon. Already one of my favorite books. I saw your video on TikTok about the pitch and I was sold. Looking forward to more book recommendations. Keep up the good work.
@@2ToRamble Just finished The Fires of Vengeance. This is by my favorite series I have read. Tau is the goat lol now waiting for the third book. I wouldn't have known about these books if not for this channel. So, thank you!!! Now to start The Way of Kings!!
@@2ToRamble finally got around to reading it and I just finished it today! Dalinar is the GOAT! Man I loved this book. Thanks again for these videos or i wouldn’t have known about this series.
Just finished the audiobook in 4 days and loved it! My favorite parts were fights through other peoples eyes so you see just how much the MC grows to be a menace!
I was lukewarm on Book 1 when I read it in 2020 (though to be fair, I didn’t like ANYTHING in 2020 due to the stress of a certain event). I gave book 2 a listen and was shocked how much I loved it. The concept and use of Isihogo is so…cool.
@@2ToRamble Okay! So, two thumbs up got me in, I’m going to give the series a shot and I appreciate the rapid reviewing and break downs. Great show, great information and great people. Good work guys.
@@patrickleslie9932 I recently finished too! You’re spot on - it’s super unique and I couldn’t ever tell which way it was going. Glad you liked it so much
So, I'm still considered a new subscriber (only been here a week) but seen enough videos to say that: Richard, I'm surprised you liked it as much as you did. Full disclosure - I haven't read the books yet but heard enough mixed reviews that had me teetering on how to prioritize this as an upcoming read. But having watched this review, I'm actually eager to read them (at least try the first book)
DNF. I got about half way through it and didn’t have any reason to continue. No character attachment whatsoever. Might try again at some point in the future.
@@2ToRamble - Honestly, I don’t know since I can’t even remember who the main character was. I actually returned the audiobook so I don’t have a reference. 😞

Yah he is just willing to work harder and put himself through more. “ the only path to becoming what others cannot is to suffer what others will not.”
Yoooo Rage of Dragons is on my sleeper list. One of the best series I never hear anyone talk about
Real glad you love it. It really scratches that underdog revenge story itch.
I need more of this stuff. Like I would watch and listen to 2 hr episodes 😂

Great review/recap. I read that Daaso Head Taker chapter twice, it was so good.

Damn- thank you! That means a lot
I started this book but didn’t get very far. I suppose I will have to pick it back up again. Keep up the good work gentlemen.
Definitely need to get past the tournament scene. Let me know what you think after you finish.
I’m definitely a sci-fi guy but hot damn this review makes me want to jump into this book next after I finish the Hyperion Cantos.
I (Austin) am finishing up Hyperion now too! Let us know what you think after you finish

Yeah, it really scratched my anime action itch. All other factors were also handled well.
Also thanks for subscribing
After listening to this I'm going to read this next
Woo!
You mentioned Joe Abercrombie.. do y’all have a rating for the First Law series?? Love the content!
Our pitch review of the first book is on the docket and will be out in a few weeks
Y'all should do A Memory called Empire and a Desolation Called Peace. Both won Hugo Awards
I do appreciate a Hugo Award winner. What is the book about?
U became a part of my cooking ritual

SO you guys almost sold me. one thing. i don't love dragons. (i know shocker dont kill me for this). to what extent are there dragons in this book?
Kinda a big part, however it's a big deal for the world and other characters not our main one. To him swords are the focus
Who has read more books in you two?
Probably Richard, but Austin is catching up.
How I read more guys...please a tip🥺
