OMG brother ! You are a legend for this video more than two years of play and was not aware about the shortcut for LARVA ! OMG I was selecting all the time my larva first, why nobody explain that ?? !?!?? Holly shit that s actually insane
By the way, I usually got this issue creating my armys control groups . I often got some larva in it. This is a real pain. I know there is something in the setting u need to click once to select all larva. Should I disable it now? I think getting read off the larva selection will avoid to get larva in my army. That's gonna change my life for sur 😅
I always used control group 0 for my spy units (zergs and overlords positioned on map), so every time I add a spy from my army I had to press shift+alt+0 which is hard to type and sometimes I forgot a modifier, so putting that on a single (garbage) key is a nice idea. I also changed select larva to D already but being able to put it on R and H and so on as well is really nice, thanks for the tutorial. :)
It's 2022. I had no idea this was possible. Thanks a ton for making it a lot easier to do this. The rapid fire and garbage tips especially are amazing! How did you end up using it as zerg though (I still find that through habit I type S for the selection) and sometimes when you don't want to mass units you need to individaully select and not hold s or d I think (like building one overlord and 2 drones out of 3 larvae?)
Sorry for the late reply! But yes I do find hitting select larve is a hard habit to break, the good thing is that if you still hit select larva it still works so it's just a nice thing to use when you remember. In terms of not wanting to mass units, I just tap if I'm trying to build a specific number of things. Where I notice it the most is in the first five minutes of the game, when you are often waiting for larva. Being able to hold down the key to instabuild is amazing
@@Ninjadasian awesome! I just downloaded it right now and it's pretty overwhelming (the google drive folder with all its info files). Just went straight to the hotkey trainer map and getting used to whatever that map throws at me. I suppose after I'm more familiar with it -- I will try camera location drills then macro cycles on a different map. What do you think -- is that a good strat to jump into learning TheCore?
@@Ninjadasian I'm a semi-casual SC2 player returning after about 10 years away from game. I returned to play my favorite -- Zerg. And I love 3v3 but ran into serious problems with SkyToss (lots of silver players just go wall>voids/carriers, and the current ladder maps seem to enhance this with one choke point with natural terrain as a ground barrier to further prevent early rushes; people expand so early these days!). Anyhow, I realized my macro skills need serious improvement if I'm to stand a chance. I didn't even use camera hotkeys. So, while I was learning to use those, I ran across "TheCore" and figured "before my hotkey habits become cemented I should try it out first".
@@IvanFazekas I will say I personally use a heavily modified version 2 of The Core. I read up on the latest version and don't think I would like it as what I'm currently using. I'd say to have the text file open and try to decide where you want your hotkeys, and don't hesitate to go and change things you don't like.
Im an 18 year old guy from Norway .I'm wondering if its any worth taking the time to learn the game seriously or not. Been thinking of it for some time and I enjoy watching Korean pros play the game, but is it still fun if I play against others around my level? Finaly is there a lot of new players that I can practice aginst or mill everyone just demolish me because im new, or should I just learn one race very good in practice before I play?
Hey, there are still people of all levels playing, it takes about 20 games if you hop right into ranked before the system can match you properly, if you are nervous just hop into a game vs AI! Co-op is also a lot of fun. I think you can play the first campaign for free as well if you are brand new
multiple rapid-fire keys is ground breaking!!

@@DEN2REQUIN getting larva in my control groups happens to me too, the best way to get rid of them is to ctrl+click a larva and use the garbage key :)

Are you still using TheCore? I just saw your previous video and then went to this one.
Yup I still use The Core. I use standard here just to explain the concepts and not confuse anyone
