@@miragenikita6329 Agreed! This video is great in showing and giving understanding on WHAT to do. But the part of HOW to do it is way too fast. So @HuShang if you combine these two perspectives in your videos they'll be much more useful. So 1) Show us first what to do (and show off your speed at the same time if you want). And then 2) do a more detailed and slow breakdown HOW to do all this effectively. e.g. box selecting the Queens instead of having them on control groups etc. etc.
This has made me improve more than anything else. I’m always thinking in my head when things are getting crazy “Inject, spend, creep, over”. You changed my game! Thanks brotha
I've wanted to learn zerg for a while, but managing injections at multiple bases always seemed like an intimidating task to stay on top of. Thank you for showing how to handle this.
Might be worth doing a video on drilling each task separately and getting into the habits of where you should focus your attention with your eyes etc.. Kinda like updated day9 videos :P
It seems that if you would change your inject hotkey to for example 'space' to push it with thumb AND hotkey all your inject queens together you could inject 3 or 4 or 5 hatches really fast like... 4 (picking inject queens) and F1, space, click, F2, space, click, F3, space, click, F4, space, click, F5, space, click. It saves like 2-3 seconds right ?
Nice video. I like the idea of using muscle memory. As a musician, it fits really well into what I know. Could you do one for protoss plz?😁 Just automate the process of chronos, ect. Would help alot
8:30 I have special hotkey for my hatchery in natural (cause I make lair in main and if you making lair you can't watch inject progress on bottom bar) and I can check my inject progress super fast on bottom bar. Only exception is when I'm making a queen there, it not exists then. I'm in Diamond 2 and you say even high Grandmasters are not doing that? I'm playing on very custom hotkeys so I have easy access to all 10 hotkeys.
Been playing on and off since WOL release. Only in gold league (took a 4 year break from ladder between HOTS and LOTV) and trying to learn a lot I never knew all this time, especially playing as Zerg.
@@HuShang i definately could use the help. This season is killing me. Haven't had a losing season in how many years (so far in LOTV ladder haven't had a losing season yet), but now I'm 9 under and no matter what I'm learning it seems that I'm getting killed the more I tried to improve. Don't want to end up back in silver 1 from gold 1.
Hey Ian, that's rough man, definitely sucks to lose a bunch! Try to keep in perspective that improving is a wave of gains and setbacks and keep the improvement as the priority instead of winning. There's a lot of research that shows focusing on improvement is much more beneficial for getting better. Are you able to match closely what I showed in this video? I imagine that will be a massive help for you in gold 1
Thanks for your videos they are rly helpfull!!! But I have a few questions. How many camera locations do you use (for example you have 4+ bases later in the game - f5 seems very far away to do it properly)? I use a Hotkey for queens to inject and tap my spacebar to switch between bases. In pro games when I watch a ZvT the zergplayer often make 10 Queens and also use them defensevily against Hellion pushes. Idk how to ask this but do they keep defending (for example 3rd or 4th base) and when the time comes move the queens back to their bases to inject and then run back again, or do they/you have one queen for each base and 6 other queens to defend.
I'm using up to f6 atm, I just try and add another one once I feel comfortable. Don't use spacebar, just use the f keys. To solve your queen problem, use two different hotkeys and merge them if you need to defend with all of them
@@HuShang yeah cheers i found it, also there is an option called "base camera" which cycles through them. This is gona help me out alot with those injects man. Legend. 🤙🤙
Cycle I use is this: 1. Injects (every 32 seconds, I'm checking a timer). 2;42, 3;14, 3;46, 4;18, 4;50, 5;22 2. asap production (more you wait - more you block your natural hatch larva production). I start spending larva with building overlords (building time - 21 seconds) so supply is ready for next inject cycle. Except is if I make drones, then I can make drones instead of overlords and make overlords 11 seconds later when new larva will appear. 3. Tech buildings, scout, army movement, those things... 4. In time left I spread creep and then maybe set overlords on map (if there is any time left and I didn't set them instantly from egg) and cycle repeats. I invented this zerg macro of my own, currently in Diamond 2. btw if you go 16 hatch build you have synchronized larvas in main and natural so you basically don't need to click 5sd all game, you just have after main production after 11 seconds 2 larva, next 11 seconds another 2 larva then cycle repeats. About settling gases. I build them like 4 seconds before injects finish and then in cycle production I immidietly saturate them from eggs, that's why as zerg you can take your gases by making 1 action. As terran/protoss you need 2 actions, first build gasers and after 21 seconds saturate them. To check my inject progress whole game I used to double hotkey my natural hatchery so it is hotkeyed to for example 7 too. Then I can check inject progress by simply clicking 7 and watching to bottom of the screen.
thanks for the lesson. why dont you use the fastest inject method though which is have all queens on a hot, say 3. then hit 3 (to select queens), base camera (default is backspace), inject, base camera (hitting it cycles thru bases), inject, base camera.
base cam isn't a good way to do it because of macro hatches but I do use fkey + control group for queens these days. Something I added just after this video I think
@@HuShang Hey so for injecting do you press this order? F1 for main hatch -> Box select Queen -> hit inject -> F2 natural -> Box Select -> hit inject and so on? thanks in advance for your reply!
The best tip i ever heard regarding starcraft 2 by far, is to spend your money. 5k minerals and 4k gas is pointless to have if you aren't constantly spending it on units production tech
Its a bit better because you can do it without look at the queens (allowing you to do other stuff like check your money/supply/minimap at the same time) great question :)
Even if I get a nice quick third base and land all my injects just after a harassment/timing attack from Terran or Protoss I always feel like I'm lacking larva. Like there's this big struggle to get back on my feet and go strong into the ten minute mark. You know what I mean? Anyone have any advice here? Maybe drop a macro hatch just as I'm defending?
Hey, good question Diego. There's a couple reasons: 1) Using base cam doesn't work very well if you add macro hatcheries 2) Using the CL's allows you to practice muscle memory 3) Increase precision in the case you only need to inject base 3 but not 1 or 2
I lthink your videos are good and i particularly like your thought proces about "automating" tasks. However I do think a good addition to this video would be make it a habit to look at the minimap systematicly during the cycles.
Ah damn, this is for people who already know how most of the game works. No idea what buttons you're pressing and how you bound those hotkeys for map and troops.

How do you grab workers to build things? Do you just grab a bunch? Or is there a faster way?
just grab one at a time to build 1 building

Almost everyone changes the f1, f2, f3, f4 -> camera locations and then sets idle worker/all army to something else instead.

How are you supposed to build overlords in step 4 when you spend all your larvae in step 2?
Just wait a bit while you're spreading creep. If you forget you can add a few before spending your larva but its slightly less efficient
I'm thinking of going the bug route, for a change. Mass bugs coming to a ladder game near you.

double tap the control group :)
