I love how they don't deviate much from the default Black Mesa animations but they have their own little flairs and personality to distinguish Barney from Gordon. Not to mention they are straight upgrades

Honestly, You've done some darn good work on these animations! the stock is surely referring to the HD Pack [since BShift came out with the HD Pack along with it] I also love the unique design of the crowbar, entirely metal to make it more unique for Barney, also the animations you've done make Barney look professional and honestly awesome with the weapons, so honestly a great job overall and honestly I'm excited to see what comes from you next! until then Merry Winter!

This gives me Mr.Brightside's HL2's Redux weapons vibes, the animations and hands for this are also really good, i do like the Spas-12's stock folded, but that unfolding animation was pretty sick!
just forgot to mention, but after the full release (or after the release of the 4-th chapter), we'll release a small HD-like pack with folded stock (I'll edit the animation, so Barney will not unfold it), and also add m4 carabine as a replace for mp5, and beretta m9 as a replace for glock. thanks btw! ^^

Some of if not the best animation work i've seen done for black mesa on par if not better than whats been done in OBM and Guard Duty, the shotgun not being held 180 degrees with one hand is a major plus adds to the realism of the reload and weight of the weapon I love how the spare mag isn't thrown when you do a non empty reload wonder what will be done with the mp5 a grenade launcher reload could be a major plus and make barney seem more human

I appreciate your support =) Answering your question about mp5 - it is already completely reanimated (I made a base for all the anims in summer of 2021 lol), one thing that isn't gonna be done is the glauncher reload. We've chosen that we'll keep it as bms did, also there were potential technical problems with doing that. But don't worry, there is something you'll be glad of seeing in it, I hope haha

I am very excited for your Revolver and Mp5 animations because they appear I think in chapter 4 right? I'm not sure about the revolver but HECU do appear so the mp5 should.
I would have loved to see something like the flashlight from Guard Duty, but that would probably be a nightmare to implement in Source, so the unpainted crowbar makes this feel much more genuine! I also love the little nod to the old HD pack with the Spas-12 pickup animation :D Keep up the great work!
@@lilpif337 Honestly, that's no big deal, Blue Shift didn't really add anything too new to begin with like Opposing Force did, so having this add-on be the same way is nice, it's got some new features but they're very subtle.

when chapter 2 just released, there weren’t my anims except the glock. It was made by Cyvo, which were terrible in all aspects, but let's be real, not all of us REALLY know how to do anything, you need a lot of experience to got it right first. Well, they were placeholders, after all. I was asked to improve them, although the knocking animation is also wasn’t made by me, it was made by another animator, +my edits. We’re gonna improve them as well.
Yeah that’s an issue. Let’s just imagine he’s doing that when holstering it :) I can’t do a long holster and draw animations for various reasons: 1. Holster animation is used when picking up physics objects in the game, it would look weird looking at folding the stock animation when you already has an object picked up. 2. Making a long draw animation will ruin fast gameplay style

Get rid of the click click when the gun is empty and the slide locks back. Does not happen. The trigger will be fully back at that point regardless if it's getting pressed or not. Only time the trigger will click like that is if the round is a misfire or the gun is empty and the slide didn't lock back.
The one where he swipes it across his arm looks really good, but it looks bad in like a combo with boxes or something. Might be better if it's only rarely used, and at that only on the first swing of a combo.

one nitpick that bothers me unreasonably: at 1:23 the slide is pulled all the way back then locks in place. It's flashy, but doesn't make any sense at all. If the slide was pulled back in an unloaded gun, the slide would slam forward, chambering the round. It would only lock back if the person was holding the slidelock in place, but the right thumb didn't appear to be doing so. Other than that, the animations are pretty solid, just some work could be done on the hand posing. Also the cutscene at 5:55 the head is really far away from the hands, making it look kinda strange.
god that spas 12 feels so fucking amazing the only thing i dislike about this game so far is the cutscenes but other than that i think it will be nearly as perfect as the original black mesa
Yeah, I don’t really think that those cutscenes fits Half-Life franchise, but they’re needed in case to prevent any problems with ton of complex scripts on our maps, it was said sometime ago on our discord server. It wasn’t my idea, at the beginning it was made by Cyv0 first, he love that kind of stuff. But anyways, we’ll see what we can do, the development started just a year ago, so we’ll see :)
Your animation has been improved since Chapter 3! Hope you'll give the same quality to the other weapons as well! Also, don't mind a little observation regarding the SPAS-12 animation? Man, I honestly thank you for these kind of words, I’m really glad that someone likes my works, but... my god, I can’t understand why is everyone now trying to get rid of normal, usual shotgun reload for spas 12. Even it’s not right, it just looks more comfortable for player. I don’t think that you’d turn your shotgun 180-degrees just to reload, it will be too annoying. I know that I can move the left hand to this button and keep the shotgun on the right side visible, but still, I don’t kinda like these kind of variations. Half-Life is Half-Life, let’s be real, if so much games does this wrong, then it was on purpose.

I grew up playing the original Half-Life before and looking back after playing FPS games today, I can clearly see what's wrong with how weapons in Half-Life work and how they handle, like the game's SPAS-12 with not only the error I've shown on how shells are meant to be loaded but also its ability to fire two shells because of the long magazine tube mistakenly thought of as a barrel. But despite that, I believe that's what gave the game its uniqueness and your animations really preserves that unique charm the original Half-Life had on its weapons. I apologize for any discomfort I've caused to you and hoping you'll continue your work on Blue Shift in the future.

Все руки из мезы (в том числе и из мульти плеера), были основаны на руках обычного костюма, так что естественно там размер не меняли. Ну а я не стал менять его из-за того, что я хотел оставить некоторые оригинальные анимации от оружия. Но в новой версии анимаций и модели рук этого уже не так заметно.

Something is wrong with one of the Glock pistol animations: In real life, the slide cannot lock in the open position while there are still bullets in the magazine.
@@lilpif337 I see what you mean. Sure it's possible if you pull the slide back while pushing the slide catch upward with your thumb. What I meant is that the slide won't catch in the open position with a non-empty mag without some kind of manual assistance. And I fail to see why one would need to do that. If you want to make the pistol safe, you release the mag first and pull the slide open to make sure the chamber is empty. If you want to make it ready to fire, you insert a full mag, pull the slide back and release it.
As I said under a certain comment, the render *does not* represent the look of the animations, textures and models like they’re in game. They look pink mostly cuz of the lighting in the render scene. In game, they look good.
