The animation on display here is triple A quality, no exaggeration. There's so much character displayed in them too, displaying both Barney's status as a trained professional (with his proficiency in handling the glock, shotgun, and mp5) while making clear that he's still just a man (with his hesistance when fiddling with the controls of the RPG). Everything shown in this project has blown the original Black Mesa out of the water in my eyes, and think it's deserving of its own standalone release once it's finished.
I like how a guard at Black Mesa Knows how to program the guiding on RPG.... I Mean, they were harboring weapons down there for a small army. but, its still crazy.
I guess Cyvo didn't intend it to be that way but.. I am trying to give the weapons a special touch of taking inspiration or copying the original anims completely. At least I tried to do it for the shotgun and mp5 (take the shell inspect anim as an example, I made it cuz I remembered there was that kind of anim in hl1 beta)

The remake of blue shift is the most impressed I've been with a mod since Black Mesa itself. I just hope the other expansion packs get this level of love being brought up to the black mesa standard.

Nice, There's a question I want to ask you. These animations are pretty nice but I'm wondering, were these made with using the original BM:S rig or did you make/use another rig for this with different bone names? Just a question out of curiosity
Thanks! They are using the same rig BMS is using. I did it for compatibility, so the community can easily put whatever hands they need back. But also, just because I didn’t want to recreate all the stuff again lol
This my theory on blue shift weapons that half life 1 and opposing force weapons are using ld weapon models while blue shift weapons are hd model weapons because blue shift have the hd models first

Thanks. Yes, this all in fact is my work haha. I’m responsible for the anims in this project, but not for Operation: Black Mesa. If that’s what you’re talking about ofc. About the Spas: the folded stock version will be available with the HD pack add on we’re gonna make. The M4 model is already finished, but we still have to do the beretta
Did you do the weapon sound design? And was the animation made first or the sounds? As an amateur just learning how to make animation mods for black Mesa, I find it easier to base the animations off the sounds
I didn’t do the base SFX but it was edited by me a lot. First, the anims were made, then the sounds. That’s how most of the game industry work, cuz when the animation(s) are ready, you can properly set all the timings and mix the sounds by looking at the animation. Making a sound first is really a not great idea. The way your ears hear sounds may result bad work with timings, even if it sounded fine in the audio editor. The brain just can’t properly calculate the things we don’t visually see lol
This mod is so fire. I only wish the Guard duty/Tripmine devs would abandon their commercial BluS mod and combine with HECU collective, cuz I feel like both teams have things the other would benefit from/missing and this mod is actually getting done in a timely manner

Our projects are having different concepts and ideas, in which Operation: Black Mesa (Guard Duty) tries to recreate the original BS as faithful to the original material as possible, without changing much of it. We are, however, making a "reimagination" of the game. We have much more new extensions, different look of the levels that relies on real life a bit more, and all that kind of stuff. 2. It would be a waste for Tripmine Studios to abaddon everything they've done for a really long period of time. They have their own Source Engine branch, so it's practically impossible to combine everything together. The source code BMS doesn't have in public is also another problem for that, it would be impossible to recreate all the features Tripmine have already implemented into their own engine branch. We're just two different projects, with different goals.
