Michael has received the eagerly-awaited Kenner-style Bantha creature from Stan Solo, a toy Kenner planned for the Star Wars figure line for 1986, but it never saw production!!!
Stan Solo has nailed it. Looks like something I could have had sitting under the tree in 1982! Perfect.
And what happened then? In Whoville they say that the Broken Vader's small heart grew three sizes that day! And then the true meaning of repro came through, and BV found the love of ten Has-bros plus two!
"Well, there are two banthas down there. Wait a second..." Perfect 🤣
I purchased this Bantha for my collection. I love it. Simply opening the packaging and adding it to my display took me back to when I was that six-year-old kid excited to get a new Kenner Star Wars toy to not only play with but to escape to an imaginative world that truly made for a fun, unforgettable childhood.
That is a thing of beauty. Chris nailed the vintage feel to a tee. The fans are doing the best work.
I so appreciate that Stan Solo exists. This brings me amazing amounts of joy.
Spectacular! I am SOOOO glad I pre-ordered this Stan Solo Bantha back in August of 2021. Boom! 6 months later these have started shipping! My bad news: I also pre-ordered a Bantha by that other guy WAY BACK in August of 2020, 18 months and counting, and still no Bantha from that other guy. Many fans ordered the the other guy’s Bantha nearly 18 months before I did! They have waited nearly 3 years! That’s 36 months since the campaign began! Stan Solo did his campaign in only 8 months! That other guy’s excuses feel more and more like a scam. Order from Stan Solo, he makes and delivers!
This looks fantastic. Delivered on time, no screw in saddle (sorry clasp), no Bantha butt plug, and looks professionally made. Great job Stan Solo!!

That Bantha looks fantastic. This is the best fan made Star Wars toy I have seen.
One hundred percent agree this matches the old Kenner style perfectly. The timing is also great to match up with the content within recent offerings from the new Boba Fett TV series.

I like the look of the figure and it does everything I would want but something about that box art just nails it. Love it. The attention to all the elements is what makes this great,: nostalgia, collection, fun. Really good work.

All of the issues that anti-repro people bring up don't provide a solution how we can finally get what we've adored for so long, like this great Stan Solo Bantha.
If the fans want it, deserve it, make it, share it, and make it well, ... it is a heavy burden arguing against that.

Another quality product from Stan Solo the business that actually delivers to its customers. I paid for it six months ago and here it is in the flesh all completed and looking like the real deal. Of course I also made the mistake of backing the other fake Bantha from TFSB, but that was over two years ago now. I've still heard nothing about when it will be made and neither has anyone else I've spoken to. I know that three or four plaster of paris version's have been made and circulated to people on RUclips like Kevin Sexton to show off. In the vain hope that it will put people off the scent and convince them that their money isn't lost. I think that after this release TFSB needs to refund people's money so that they can go and actually buy a Bantha instead of holding onto a false promise. The fans certainly are doing the best work but TFSB isn't doing anything.
They're actually resin but you're right, TFSB are nothing but scammers.
Always nice to see a collector being happy about a new toy. Glad this lived up to expectations for the people that bought it. If I collected vintage Star Wars I would be getting one.
I was born in the late 2000s, so I didn't grow up with Kenner toys. Despite that, people always tell me "You were born in the wrong decade" because I'm such a fan of things from the 80s. People like stan solo make toys like this for the explicit purpose of people completing collections, but for people like me, it allows us to live in an age we aren't from. I'm glad to see the star was community is going strong with fan work, and not with the work of the name brands that don't care about the series.
All I can say is what a Beautiful Toy.

Some people have complained about the brown paint on the saddle, but if you don’t like it just remove it or paint over it.

Stuff like this lights a fire in my belly as well, your excitement is warranted. I don't collect Star Wars, I'm a never-die Godzilla fan but the same principles apply; when the company doesn't produce and industrious fans show what they're made of, it benefits the fans all over the world. I only wish I had the means and the tools to do this stuff myself, it's so exciting to think about producing stuff the fans crave, which is why I've been supporting indie fans making their own figures of never-produced Godzilla monsters, because it fills out a collection and I like to hope sends a message to the toy companies.
I wish I was able to emulate the work of Stan Solo in my own fandom and that's I think the highest praise I can give him, his work is so good and so well-conceived that it makes us who see it want to do something akin to it, to imitate that kind of quality greatness and spread the fandom ingenuity. It's really awesome, it may seem like a simple thing to outsiders but to me it's pioneering that will send ripple effects far and wide. Thanks for sharing, Michael.

As long as fan based companies continue to make quality products and deliver in a reasonable time window. But I have to confess that I do enjoy when Michael rakes the multi- billion dollar toy companies over the scorching hot coals for their BS business practices. In closing it's with Stan Solo where "the fans DO come first".
These are gorgeous, looking forward to receiving mine, happy to wait in the queue, good things come to those who wait. I love the figures produced so far, am working my way through getting all the astromech droids etc. Can't wait for the Slave Leia too. Sublime work as always Chris Smith.

Michael please patent your “fans are doing the best work” - you speak for a great silent majority of collectors who are very happy to see competition for the giant companies that now control 90% of the market - competition would be wonderful again in this market! I want my kids to be able to play with these toys again (I know a $1.99 figure is not in the cards anymore, but how about some full figure cards at the stores at least?) - the action figure market is still alive! I love Banthas, they're soft and warm and fuzzy... and they'll take you everywhere.
I don't collect retro Star Wars figures myself but I like to keep an eye on what's being produced and Stan Solo has consistently put out some of the finest looking retro inspired collectibles to date. From his Ephant Mon variants to his selection of astromech and protocol droids, the detailing, quality and overall aesthetic is second to none and almost impeccably Kenner! This Bantha is gorgeous and will enhance the collection of any Star Wars retro collector. I will continue to watch with keen interest what Stan Solo produces in the future.
They will rule the studio as Vader and Floof......

I ordered one of these a couple of weeks ago but I don't think mine will show up until sometime in March. It is my first foray into the Stan Solo line of figures and I don't think I'll be disappointed! I would call this Kenner continuation rather than a KO (as one was never released). The problem is that I don't own a Tusken Raider. I'll have to fix that!
That bantha looks AMAZING! The Stan Solo website images are very good, but dang. This critter POPS in your review.
