Those custom figures are absolutely amazing! Seeing those figures are extra special to me during the holiday season. My parents would always purchase my Star Wars toys from K mart, and for Christmas I would always receive several Star Wars toys. So, for me, Star Wars will always be even more special during the holiday season.

I totally agree with you, Michael. As a Gen Xer, I have a very hard time with the names (Hem Dazon, Arleil Schous, etc.). My friends and I used to call Hem "triangle head" back in the day. And "the werewolf alien" was Arleil. But wow--Hem's figure looks fantastic! They did an amazing job! Thank you for a great review of these new figures!

My excuse was GI Joe. Empire is my fav movie and figures. Then Joes hit the market and it was a wrap for SW. I got a few ROTJ sets and figs tho. Breaker, Grunt, RAM & VAMP W/ Clutch blew me away. In-between both toy brands was Stg Rock and comic books. Man, those were the days.

I think its really impressive how different the three figures look, given that they shared torso and leg mouldings. Yes, different feet would have been good, but that's the sort of thing that will take a project like this from being viable to not. I'm glad you are able to see that position and it's one of the reasons why I love RB as a channel. Honestly, if you'd said that they were originally Kenner figures, I'd have believed you.

As a 'right on the border' Millennial, these Cantina guys bring a double dose of nostalgia. One from the taped off TV QVC VHS of Star Wars I wore out in 90' - 91' and two for the SWCCG card game in 95'-96'. I believe they borrowed some background from the RPG along with the names they carry today. Hem Dazon being addicted to salt giving him gold eye color etc.

A Bacca Family treehouse playset with breakaway railing? They're going to run out of droids and aliens eventually so they could mine that turd. I'd buy 'em.

I love the fact that there are fans out there making figures that would have been great to have back in the day, but my personal problem is the price. I'm not saying that they are overpriced considering the fact that they do not have the resources Kenner had, but that I simply can not afford to go down that rabbit hole. Resellers and their crazy price don't help much either. May the Force be with those who can afford it. Like a good porn, just because I will not afford to have that level of quality, don't mean I do not like to watch the videos showing me what I am missing! Jus keep making the videos!

Great review. Looking at some of the comments, I'm not sure everyone realises that these aren't Kenner figs, they're actually designed and produced by the hugely talented Graham at the Next 17. I can attest to the great quality and wave 5 is due to drop. They look great on display and are of a really high quality. Without fan support, customisers like Next 17 won't be able to continue their fine work. I urge collectors to get involved. 😁

Great video, it’s pretty fascinating how these fans works can come up with such great things.
Definitely a fair and thoughtful review ^_^
It kind of surprises me that nobody has developed a fan made robot / droid that is intentionally designed to fit in with multiple existing toys lines that is completely original.
Multiple price points could be achieved and a non human robot would make scaling less difficult.
It’s such an obvious concept I don’t think I could take credit for anyone who decides to be inspired by it.

I get the buzz, it s totally legit and understandable.
to me, sw figs we re always just passable, merely 'adventure people' space theme with flair.
my lowest standard is Joes since 83, more articulation.
I had 70s 12' Joes very young, it was hard to go for less.
it s nostalgia charm for sure, as compared to my classifieds, these look grotesque, lol.
but, it inspires, as I d see a 6' scale cantina with all types of pop aliens mixed in the bag.
like, predator, alien, e.t., Robby the robot, lost in space s robot, ect...
I d see that on display in a house, a funny scene that combines the best sci fi designs.
the sw universe is now so vast, it s discouraging to get in now.
+ it s too difficult to get many white storm troopers,
maybe I d like a Solo - Chewy scene vs Darth and 10 x troopers.
I d go through the trouble of building it out of cardboard and add much detail.
    good show bro

Have to say I’m not a fan of these sculpts. Etsy creators like Funky Maclunky and Trashcompactor are doing a much better job representing character likenesses and individual body sculpts instead of one or two bodies re-colored.
That being said I don’t discourage others from pursuing these figures especially if you are not skilled at painting or just prefer not to considering these are ready made.
Bottom line: They’re not for everyone, but I’m sure a lot of fans will like/appreciate The Last 17’s offerings.
