Thanks! An amazing place, for sure. That was at the end of a big day for us, so not sure we truly appreciated the beauty enough in the moment.

Great video, I really enjoyed it. So far, most of my backpacking experience has been at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico but I'm hoping to start backpacking in some national parks soon. I don't remember you mentioning, but when did you do this trip?

i did an 8 day solo north loop plus trip in the opposite direction a week or so before you did. they closed mokawanis junction the day after i walked thru there. the mom and 3 cubs hung out around fifty mile for most of the summer without much incidence. was really cool to watch part of my trip in reverse.

Great video, I'm hoping to do this hike soon. Don't mean to be rude but def should've sprayed the bear in the cooking area. That's how bears become habituated and food conditioned. Especially concerning that it was a mama bear with cubs. The cubs learn from her behavior. Did you notify park rangers about the incident? Maybe next time also consider carrying a can of bear spray each on your waist or chest. Heading out into the Montana backcountry without enough spray is really not a good idea. This is high density grizzly bear habitat (highest in the lower 48). That's why everything in the park is so meticulous around bear safety. Looking forward to your next video!

Thanks!! Yeah we met a ranger on the trail the next day who was on his was to close down the campground. He actually said it was right not to spray her bc she wasn’t charging or aggressive. Those things only have about 7 seconds of spray so it’s best not to use it unless in immediate danger. But yeah I said in my things I wish I knew video that we probably all should’ve had a bear spray.
