After watching a couple of other RUclips doctors they said that rebound hyperpigmentation coming back worse can happen which has scared me so much. • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  25 дней назад +1

      Well, sun protection is necessary with out without melasma, but yes, it gets even more important. Depending on how you treated the melasma, the underlying changes in the skin, the accumulation of melanocytes in he area affected, is still there. Only the pigment is temporarily gone. And when there is a new trigger, they will start to produce the pigment again.

    I have FP type VI skin that is in between normal and combination.
    I have been using Vitamin C/Sweet almond oil for about 9 months to fade my PIH (due to acne/pimples/ingrown facial hairs) and it had worked fairly well. But the result is that I now have dark dots/spots that look like freckles all over my cheeks and under each side of my jawline.
    Question: How should I use my newly acquired fading cream (HQ 2% & Salicylic Acid 2%)? Shall I cover the entire area where these dots/spots are concentrated (as if treating melasma) or should I target each dot/spot individually (as if treating age spots)?
    I'm after an effective method that will work over 2-3 months at most.
    Thanks! ^__^

      I would strongly advise you ask someone that has experience with hyperpigmentation on FP VI skin, my knowledge there is very limited.

      That depends on several different factors. The best thing you could do is see a dermatologist for individual advice. If that isn't possible, a regime that is gentle on the skin and uses specific actives like retinoids, salicylic acid and maybe benzoylperoxide is the way to go.

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 года назад +2

      @@lorainecarolan8630 Okay: 1. Fillers do come with risks, and one of them (very, very rare) would be loosing eye sight. The only thing risk-free would be not getting any procedures.
      2. Any procedure comes with risks, the key is to have them done by someone that knows what they are doing to minimize the risk.
      3. As for your specific risks and the best kind of fillers for your specific concerns, you need to see someone in person and have a consultation.
      4. If the risk for blindness was high, fillers would not be allowed, so I wouldn’t worry too much - but make sure to go to someone reliable and well trained.

    Thank you so much for this and all of your other informative videos. You are very generous with your knowledge and time and I appreciate it! This particular video is relevant to me because I've very recently started considering the use of hydroquinone. I have been strictly a "green beauty" user for about five years now, so "hydroquinone" has been kind of a dirty word for me. That being said, I recently bought an LED mask that worsened and created new hyperpigmentation spots on my face, and I don't believe anything in green beauty will address it. I'm also looking to treat glycation issues, so if you would make a video on that I would be so grateful. Thanks again, and I hope you have a great weekend!

    • @DoctorAnne
      @DoctorAnne  3 года назад +2

      I think there are a few things that need the „heavy guns“, and hyperpigmentation is one of them. Regarding glycation, I think lifestyle and food has an overwhelming impact, but I will look into that topic more for a future video.

      Also know it’s blue light that stimulates melanin production. Not red light. If your mask does both and allows, turn off the blue light. I wanted blue light for my acne, but read it worsens melasma, so I’m going with just a red light mask for ant-aging.

      Rohan Jadhav yes, as long as you follow the instructions and consult with your dermatologist! It should be used only as a spot treatment on the spots, only at night, don’t start using it every day, start slowly, because it can be very irritating. Also most importantly don’t use it more that 3-4 months in a row. Take a break of 6 months after this period. During this time you can use Alpha Arbutin or tranexamic acid!

    Question please : my friend used a cream called " clermine" = hydroquinone 2 % + beta hydroxy acid + vitamin c ..
    in one month she had a good result but not specifically for dark spots .. she had still dark spots but she gets a skin generally whiter than before she went live in dubai with a daily strong sun ..
    she has a white skin .. but with the age (47) she doesn't have the same color skin when she was younger
    she stops using he cream because she was afraid to have a side effects especially this famous blue grey spots ocronos .. she is asking : how much time it takes to have this kind of side effect after stopping the treatment ??
    She is very worried to have a reverse effect and to get more dark spots or may be they will become darker in the future

      I saw skin specialist not derma. She looked worried though. My melasma got better within 7 days. Now I am on different prescription but it started to look a bit dark and it's only been three days. This prescription has steriods which she mentioned that should keep the redness and inflammation down.

    Thank you for the video. I combine tretinoin (%0,50) and hydroquinon (%4) ,mix them together 1 or 2 times a week on nights. I find that tretinoin alone is super drying,and hydroquinone alone is not drying or irritagting at all,So I mixed them together and I don't feel any extra irritation and drying more than tretinoin alone. I use tretinoin for long therm antiaging effects and for preventing folliculitis,and balance oilliness on my face.
