Got the 6 speed R/T. Why I ever bought an automatic?! Hadn't drove a stick since 20s I'm almost 60! This takes me back ! Wife never needs to go to the store . let me ! I love driving it !!
I like this review a lot. It brings up a good points, that it's not all about power. With 65mph speed limit in most states, you'll never fully utilize scat pack's power. With RT however, you get still get a little bit crazy without risking jail time or losing control.
Yeah Joe, I had a 2015 R/T 5.7 6-speed but not enough power so traded up to a 2018 R/T Scatpack 6-speed in High Octane Red! I’ve never been so happy with a vehicle in my life! I installed a Barton shifter, Quad Tips and Ultra High Performance Michelin Pilot All Season 4 tires in 275/40/20 all around! I’m a happy man! BTW, nice job as usual my friend! 😎
I remember trying to teach my daughter to drive a stick shift like I did my wife. She told me "dad this is America, We don't do this here" lol. These kids just don't know what they're missing. I just love it, It makes you just enjoy driving. Another thing is you never have to worry about your car being stolen. A stick shift is the best security you can have. Bad guys are too dumb to be able to drive a stick. Well again if they were geniuses they would not be thieves.
These new kids cant even tell time they'll never get a stick shift or learn how to use it...The R/T is a fun car with the tremec as well...Hell in 1970 Challenger owners would have killed to get that 5.7 Hemi with a 6 speed!
Just got into a brand new leftover 2022 Challenger RT 6-speed manual. First V8. First manual transmission. It’ll spin the tires every start and chirp them through 3rd gear if you’re into it but also a very comfortable daily driver (with plus package interior upgrades). Does not feel like a compromise! Especially for the price.
Well done! Having way too much fun brother! Thanks Lori for the great filming. Joe, everything you said about the manual transforming the feel of the car is spot on! In the race to claim those milliseconds by going to flappy paddle automatics so much of the driving experience is lost. I love rowing the gears in my car. A car does not have to be the fastest thing on the block for you to enjoy it. My car is not the fastest although I think 0 - 60 in 5 seconds is plenty quick. For my old school car guys and girls, think about that for a moment. We live in a time when some people think 0 to 60 in 5 seconds it slow. Wow! If you are the kind of person who is constantly driving around playing stop light drag race it might be time to rethink your priorities. Keep up the great work Joe!
I love it!!!!! A manual V8 with 300+ horsepower and 400 ft/lbs of torque is all you need 99% of the time. I also am a big fan of the rims and of course that exhaust sounds amazing. Had a 91” Mustang LX 5.0 manual and it was the most fun to drive car I have ever owned. This has 50+% more horsepower so I can only imagine what a blast this one must be to drive.
Classic no nonsense muscle car. Love the “Go-Man-Go” color. The only thing I would miss with the manual would be the remote start feature. Thanks for the ride Joe. Well done! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Joe you're the king of reviewers and you make a good point. There are always faster options but 375HP and a 6MT is more than enough to bring a smile to your face versus being terrified all the time in a Hellcat or Demon.

Got a Challenger RT in the Go Mango colorway. Couldn’t be happier. Like you said, what’s the point of having 2,000 hp if you can’t put them on the floor. Yes, I would love the hellcat. But I’m really in love with my car. Plus, it’s a manual. I love going through the gears. This is the best part. My salesperson showed me how to drive manual in the dodge lot. My best memory so far.
My first car I financed was an 02 Oldsmobile Alero in the manual. 😎 my dad cosigned for me and he told me on the test drive lol if I spun out. Stalled peeled my tires grinder gears I wasn’t getting it 😑 then parked on a hill and told me to go 🫠 lol so nervous I passed lol
I really think the R/T is the Challenger to get. If you aren't on a prepared surface with drag tires - you aren't getting 700hp from the Hellcat. You aren't getting 480hp from the Scat pack. You're getting high 300s because these cars are traction limited. With some small mods, that 5.7 hangs out in the low 400's anyway. Daily driving on race tires isn't a thing for most people. The requirement for 93 octane and race tires make the SP and the HC a tough sell for a daily driver. You pay extra for the car, and you carry around the added weight and cost for power that you don't really have access to anyway. On the street, a HC will due low 4's 0-60. A SP will do mid 4s. And an RT will do high 4s. The difference is not something you can perceive without a timer. The HC and SP win from 60-130...but who cares. It's illegal and dangerous to drive that fast anyway. The R/T puts down all the power, has room to mod if you want to do that, is meaningfully more affordable to operate.
I had a 2014 Challenger RT 6 speed manual and it was a fun car to drive. Really it's the true muscle car just like the 392 because it's a naturally aspirated V8.
For everyday driving, manual transmission.... Which would you rather drive.... Mustang GT or Challenger R/T ? No scat pack and no performance pack.... just the base stock models offered with the v8 motors. Which would you rather own for 5-10 years ? Manual transmission only, keeping them stock.
Raiti's reviews are awesome and his one liners are hillarious!! "twinkie holders" on door panel! the Haha!! I have to say I've been a Mustang GT fan for years but recently relocated to Florida and have been seeing a lot of Challengers and I really like the RT. Maybe in my near future. Thanks for great review and video work!
I like seeing all the challengers they're nice cars. I really like the way you talk about the outside of the body and go around it no money really does that. I like how you give your opinion on what you like and what you dislike about the car. Some people just tell you what the car has and that is fine too. This R/T looks pretty cool
Great review. Neat stuff. It was like taking it for a spin myself. Stick and a V8 with a perfect exhaust. Thanks for helping me make up my mind to order one.
I think 5 second 0-60 cars paired with manuals is the magic combo. My 2019 ecoboost is stupid fun with a 6spd. I would like an NA 5.0 eventually of course haha.
The RT is a GREAT car and honestly has plenty of power for most everyone. However, the best reason to step up to what would be my recommendation, the scat pack, is that sweet sweet 392 V8 muscle sound.
There is no shame in having & enjoying a 5.7 Hemi which is frankly more true to the 1970 R/T with the classic 440 Magnum as they both have near identical horse-power & torque to the new 5.7 Hemi. I proudly owned two 1970 Challenger's, one a 440 R/T, I love my 2014 Blacktop Edition R/T with Super Track Pack low 392 rear end gear ratio, with aggressive Flowmaster's it's a beautiful thing!
Hey man I literally never comment on videos as in this may be the second video I have EVER commented on but I watch videos all the time. I know what your thinking. Shame on me and you are right but with that being said I just had to tell you I lover this review. You are so genuine the joy you express is so refreshing. There was not one bad negative thing to say about having a car that simply can't hang with other models. That to me is super classy. I just purchased my rt its a 2015 model stick shift and if I ever try to explain how I feel about my car I will always direct people to this video lol. I simply don't have the wallet for a hellcat and if I'm honest really shouldn't have purchased the rt haha but it's just such a wonderful car from looks to the incredible feeling you get just driving it. I am rambling so I just wanted to say thank you for such a positive video on a ar that while may not be the most expensive or fastest is certainly worth every penny and some. Keep the great videos and vibes coming brother

RT is the model in my $$ / competency range but you would not want a manual in UK traffic unless you had a spare leg and a sling for your arm. Great review Joe......as usual. 👍🇬🇧
You cracked me up! You really enjoy driving these Challengers. What a great job you did and what a great job you have. I definitely enjoyed watching this video. I am struggling deciding whether I should get a SXT or GT AWD or RWD in an Automatic transmission V-6. Or a RT RWD Manual transmission or Automatic transmission with a V-8. What I would like to know is that if one gets more traction with a RWD with a limited slip and a locking differential than one gets with an AWD that has 2 axles that are both open differentials. Because in this Washington DC area it probably snows on the average annually 1-2 weeks a years. You don't have to worry about snow in Florida. The biggest problem with RWD is that there is no weight in the back traction or not. Which means during snow time I need to load the trunk with heavy items like work out weights. I would prefer RWD because it is a muscle car. But AWD is more practical and better gas mileage with the V-6. If you have any tips or advice for me that would be most appreciated.
Just got a red 2021 6 speed challenger rt , still in transit rn! Super pumped for the manual transmission and of course the v8 engine! Will definitely miss the memories I had in my v6 tho
I have a 2019 challenger TA in f-8 green with an 8 speed torque flight , all options but 2. Just had it ceramic coated. And as an added bonus it gets 27 mpg on the Hyway I love it. Faster than my GTO, and 2 transams.
That's a great car plus your reaction to it speaks volumes! 375HP 6speed Tremec has plenty of power and like you said that transmission is so hard to find. If it's your first welcome to the Hemi party you have to be psyched. 375HP, a Hemi, a 6speed....just wicked fast man. Have fun and keep it on throttle!
Boy "O" Boy....I love that R/T....reminds me of 1970 which I remember well. I drove a big block 70 Camaro then but cuz had a 69 Charger that was fierce.
Of the retro pony cars, the Challenger is the most dedicated to the 50 year old original design. It is a bit portly at 4100lbs, but it is also the roomiest and most practical of this genre. Chryco fans will never tire of this design. Soon, I suspect that only the Mustang will be the only other alternative. Without a doubt, it is one heckova "head turner".
I bought a bright red 2015 RT Plus with a manual 2 years ago, and yes, I DO find myself smiling EVERY time I drive it. Only "zonk" in this video is the reference to CD magazines, I don't think these cars come with CD Players, mine has USB, satellite and bluetooth. I've never missed not having one in this car, and in today's cars, the CD player is having a quicker death than the manual trans.
Thank you for reviewing different spec'd models! Not all of us are Hellcat Redeye ballers 😎

I like seeing all the challengers they're nice cars. I really like the way you talk about the outside of the body and go around it no money really does that. I like how you give your opinion on what you like and what you dislike about the car. Some people just tell you what the car has and that is fine too.
This R/T looks pretty cool
You’re killing it, Joe!! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks for saying that! I appreciate you being so supportive!
Man I miss having a manual. I know the automatics are fast now a days but there’s just something about shifting gears.
Everytime I get out of a 6speed, I come right back. You realize how much you miss it when it's gone.
Maybe I’m old-school but a true musclecar makes you roll your own gears.
Great review. Neat stuff. It was like taking it for a spin myself. Stick and a V8 with a perfect exhaust. Thanks for helping me make up my mind to order one.
I am so glad that I could share this one with you.
Fabulous review....So reminds my of my first new car...Plymouth GTX 440-4 speed.....Dynomite!!!
I think 5 second 0-60 cars paired with manuals is the magic combo.
My 2019 ecoboost is stupid fun with a 6spd. I would like an NA 5.0 eventually of course haha.
You git the nail on the head!
The RT is a GREAT car and honestly has plenty of power for most everyone. However, the best reason to step up to what would be my recommendation, the scat pack, is that sweet sweet 392 V8 muscle sound.
I totally agree with you.
Variety is the spice of life and it is so true in regards to a rare manual these days!
You are so right Peter!
That is so very true Vinnie!
You ALMOST got me talked back into an RT but that scat pack 6.4 with the tremec is probably the way I want to go
That is the way that I would go Tom!
@@RaitisRides LOOKIN AT A 19 Scat Pack WITH 900 MILES big radio scat pack seats alpine stereo sittin for 143 days at an Audi dealer...LOL..think I can snag for 40K maybe a hair less think I'll nail it
Man joe you are on a roll with these reviews
I see your notification, instant click
I can't do it without your awesome support!
@@RaitisRides stay safe joe keep up the amazing work 👍
@@joskjj3625 You got it!
Thanks for giving the R/T some love..👍👍
Og course Dan!
RT is the model in my $$ / competency range but you would not want a manual in UK traffic unless you had a spare leg and a sling for your arm. Great review Joe......as usual. 👍🇬🇧
You are hilarious John! Thanks for letting me bring it to you across the pond.
Really love the passion hommie thank for this awesome videos I trully love Challenger
You are so very welcome!
@@RaitisRides you have a new fan😊
You could really feel the joy this man felt driving the challe, he made me want to go get in mine and go joy ride, great vid
Joe Raiti the man!!
Thanks brother!
If it's not Go Mango I don't want it!! I love this color, that orange just hits differently than all the other colors. My Charger RT is Go Mango.
ai totally agree with you!
Love it. Really showed the driving experience well.
I have a 2019 challenger TA in f-8 green with an 8 speed torque flight , all options but 2. Just had it ceramic coated. And as an added bonus it gets 27 mpg on the Hyway I love it. Faster than my GTO, and 2 transams.
I got mine - at the buzzer - it rocks.
That is so awesome to hear.
The Challenger is my dream car. Specifically the Scat Pack!
I'll settle for an SRT8 :,-) Which is the same thing as a scat pack just the older name!
@@Krotos1970 very nice car, that's actually my best friend's dream car haha
@@Krotos1970 one of his dream cars
Scat pack wide body. Really want one if I wasn’t living in a city
Thanks Sully for sharing that great input and letting me share this one with you!
Boy "O" Boy....I love that R/T....reminds me of 1970 which I remember well. I drove a big block 70 Camaro then but cuz had a 69 Charger that was fierce.
Great review amazing car best horses and smiles per buck ratio and even double wishbone in the front
I totally agree with you Aldo!
I love the face styles with circle headlights 🔥❤️️
I am so glad that you like this one.
Very good points!
I've never missed not having one in this car, and in today's cars, the CD player is having a quicker death than the manual trans.
its good to see someone have some fun
Good review, Joe. That 5.7L is quite beefy. Buyers should not sleep on that model. I have it in a Chrysler 300C. 345 horsepower of pure soul!
Thanks for sharing that!
I ordered my RT with the plus package and the Tremec 6 speed! It comes in 3 months!
Now we are talking Dale! Congrats man!
