I have been saying for the longest time you guys could have an entire channel just based on your matte paint jobs. Thanks for what is hopefully the first of many vids like this!
I have been in love with the ultra matte style of every team in every video since I first approached the mountainside. I joined the patreon to find out how it was done. I scoured the discord. I watched the many hour long painting stream. This video is exactly what I wanted. I am overjoyed. I shall be making every team I paint follow the beauty that is these painting tips. Praise be the 1hp gangsta's and mountain goats. All glory to their benevolent kings!
Love you are bringing more hobby side videos to the channel. Can I humbly suggest you put the paint used in the corner or something as you are apply. Helpful to be able to focus on the magic and then if you miss when you mention the colour/brand it's right there!
I hugely appreciate this content. With so many extremely talented miniature painters out there, it's extremely hard to look at my own work and feel, "Alright, I'm getting better at this" because the bar is at near perfection. I've seen a few that you all have done where I go, "Oh, I can do that." Seeing this video is a huge bonus that I feel like I can relate to and find the easier steps to continue improving at painting miniatures.
I'm a big fan of the bright green that you call "cartoony" that you dont prefer as much for your ork paint scheme. I think this is a great tutorial because you can kinda get whatever green finish you want just by swapping out some of the paints.
That frosting effect happens to me all the time with GW washes. Usually when the bottle is about to be empty it starts to turn white in the recesses and ruin models. The only solution I found that works sometimes is mixing the wash 50/50 with water and then using it. Lessens the frosting, but still gives a similar amount of coverage. Love the way these orks turned out!
Hey gents! Just waited to say, I love watching your killteam reports while making my first killteam/warhammer set. I'm making some Pathfinders, bc I love the Tau in general, even though the PF's aren't the best at the moment. I'd love to see a KT battle with Pathfinders! Keep up the great content 👏🏻
1. about washes in general, people will hate anything, washes are great paints that serve some specific purposes, if you like them use them and never look back 2. about the cracking, it tends to happen on surfaces that are satin/glossy. What you could do is to varnish the model with ultra matt before putting wash. 3. about the glossyness, next time try to mix wash with matt varnish (pref. ultra matt from ak) on the palette before applying on a model, it will help tremendously keep up the good work guys, I love to watch your battle reports :D
I really appreciate the work and time you guys took in making this video! This is so awesome and as a new player, we love getting ideas and ways to paint. Thank you so much

i'm such a fan of your, I guess art style is the way to describe it. the super stylised way you present your models and scenery. a new painting video seemed like the place to say it. also I switched to the army painter tone washes after gw changed their washes. still a little shiny if you don't shake it enough but damn it's better than the alternative.
I really enjoyed this video and seeing how you painted the Orks. More of these videos would be really fun to watch! Have you tried any other brand of washes? I use the pro acryl washes and I really like them, but they don’t have a sepia wash at the moment. I’ve also used and liked the two thin coats washes and I’ve heard good things about the army painter washes.
If I want something to be less glossy, I add in up 50% contrast medium. Works on contrast paints and even works with Varnish to make it less satin more matte.
Come for the paintjob, sub for worker solidarity. Drybrush that leadbelcher over the primer, super rusty metal if you're into that. I'd recommend two thin coats washes over the new formula citadel ones.
I think washes are just another tool to use. You can rely on them as a new painter to give you a “skill in a bottle” feeling, but if you want grow as a painter it’s best to experiment with other options. But I will also add, Targor Rageshade, one of the newer citadel shade paints is a legitimately top tier paint
Honestly, if anyone is negatively commenting on someone using washes and making statements that they are a crutch for bad painters, they'd be going in the bin
I feel that way about orange colors too, for my dwarves I did the Jokaero orange as a base and then put Nazdreg Yellow over it to make it a dirty orange cuz they look like nerf gun toy orange if you go based off the box art color guide
the frosting with the washes i've had happen sometimes with some washes, and also not everytime. it's annoying because no has a good solution, and know one seems to agree on how it happens
Big ups for worker solidarity ✊
I have been saying for the longest time you guys could have an entire channel just based on your matte paint jobs. Thanks for what is hopefully the first of many vids like this!
Hell yea, solidarity with all workers of thr world
nice shout out to the vallejo workers! good work guys!
Ok I needed this, ive been obsessed with Brad's paintjobs lately and I have the orcs in my near future, win-win
agreed! glad to see some method to the madness
And here I am saying "We don't need to be worried AT ALL" to myself like 1 second before Vic does. 😂 great video guys! Love the paint job!
Y'all colour selection is always a delight to see!
Support worker rights!
Please keep these painting tutorials coming! I like your guys' style.
I agree with you, the skin is really nice! Great work. I can't wait to get hold of this team
Hell yeah dude, more of this, your painting is always so creative and distinct
The way you paint is definitely a recognizable trait of this channel. It looks lovely and as you say os absplutely brilliant on camera

Really good video guys, thanks a lot for this! Great job also mentioning the Vallejo workers 💪

"Crotch towel for the Nob!!" I can't do it. I'm dying here!!! 😂
I've always admired your paint jobs, love seeing content like this!
And HELL YES, SUPPORT WORKER RIGHTS!
I haven't painted a mini in forever, but that mini holder while painting is damn near genius.
Love the new hobby content. It's approachable and not too technical which I think will appeal to all levels of painters. Keep it up!
I always love seeing painting videos and this was well put together! More would not be remiss!

Love your guys' paint jobs. Was inspired by your plague marines and would love a video on painting them
I really appreciate the work and time you guys took in making this video! This is so awesome and as a new player, we love getting ideas and ways to paint. Thank you so much
Friend put me onto AK Ultra Matt too and it's soooo good. Glad to see a painting guide as both of your models really add to the stellar bat reps :D
Thanks a Lot I just adored your color scheme

Fantastic tutorial. Definitely gonna take a look at those paints. The armor and skin colors are top notch.
Fun video ✅
Great painting guide ✅
Support wORKers ✅
Brah!!! Your purple Kommandos are the most awesomest of Orks in the Universe!!!

More content of anytime to see you guys is much appreciated!
This is great. You guys are killing it! Please do the Genestealers scheme sometime.
A painting tutorial for your Warp Coven would be ace!
Support worker rights! Thanks for saying this. ❤
Much love from Scotland!
Bro, thats my Jam.
Pro-labor wargaming!? We love to see it!
Would love to see more hobby videos!
Boy I sure would love to hear Vic talk like an Ork with a sincere frown the entire time 😂 his utter disdain for them in their entirety amuses me
The limited color palette and pail skin looks great.
I really enjoyed this video and seeing how you painted the Orks. More of these videos would be really fun to watch!

Hell yeah, solidarity

"crotch towel on the knob" 🤣
Try the Army painter sepia wash. Very similar to the GW colour but I've found it doesn't have any of the issues GW washes can have.
Come for the paintjob, sub for worker solidarity.
Drybrush that leadbelcher over the primer, super rusty metal if you're into that.
I'd recommend two thin coats washes over the new formula citadel ones.
Awesome video, go Bills.
Great vid. I would totally be down to listen to you guys talk about paint or kill team over footage of painting like this.
Also a tutorial for those mandrakes you had a while ago would be amazing!

Hell yea
Nice. Go Lion's!!!

This scheme gives the orks a neo soviet vibe.
Try Pro Acryl washes. They don't look nearly as glossy!
the frosting with the washes i've had happen sometimes with some washes, and also not everytime. it's annoying because no has a good solution, and know one seems to agree on how it happens
What’s this orange color? I checked the list, is this Khorne Red?
Medium Rust
I don't have a problem with supporting the velejo workers, but if you're going to be moralistic you shouldn't use AK stuff.
