    That's an absolutely beautiful yellow. The thing that's impressed me most from your videos (other than the relaxed mood, simple and clear process and great photography) is honestly, your fantastic brush control. It's really the key to a good result.

      Thank you for all the kind words! You're right, I think good brush control does most of the heavy lifting! And it helps the rest of the paint job fall into place.

    Nice man! Super crispy yellows. That extra warmth from the imperial fist contrast really helped. I’ve been having lots of fun using the contrast paints like glazing like this.

      They're really great for glazing and building up depth. Glad you're also having fun with contrast paints!

    Absolutely gorgeous work again! I've heard it said before that painting with Contrasts is considered a crutch, or you should do the old "base, shade, highlight", this-or-that about not actually improving, but I love Contrast paint, and seeing your videos on how to bring out their full potential is incredibly inspiring. Thank you so much for your hard work in painting the minis and producing these awesome videos!

      Thank you so much! I think all the techniques are valid and have their place in our hobby. I don't like to gatekeep certain techniques or shame anyone for painting how they like. We're in this hobby for good vibes! Thanks for watching and for your support!

    That is some crisp yellow there Mr. Matt. I don't really like yellow as a color, so thankfully I don't paint it that often, although I do have those yellow helms on my Craftworld Alitoc Eldar to do at some point. This will be a great reference. Thanks!

      Thanks Shane! I'm not a huge yellow fan either, but it is good to have a nice yellow recipe in times of need! Good luck with those Eldar!

    What a great video. So chill but entertaining at the same time. Have you done Tau in white?

      Thanks! Glad you feel that way! I haven't painted Tau yet, but I have painted a Space Marine Apothecary in white. That's the recipe I'd use for Tau. ruclips.net/video/JpTQWliypeQ/видео.htmlsi=BG_1ErB83HBsiBCC

    Ahhh, I see you too give your scouts black trousers because the bleach bone / flesh wash shading they used to do was nye on impossible on them :S lol I do that with my blood angels.... they end up looking like captain scarlet, I love it lol

    • @MattsHobbyHour
      @MattsHobbyHour  2 дня назад +1

      Black and dark grey go with just about any other color. I bet your blood angels look cool! I like the old style bleached bone on some chapters more than others, mostly for nostalgic reasons though!

    Amazing tutorial as always. Very well explained and demonstrated :) May i ask what brush you use for applying the contrast paint?

    • @MattsHobbyHour
      @MattsHobbyHour  2 дня назад

      Thanks! I use Rosemary and Co series 99 and series 33 brushes, sizes 0, 1 and 2. Most of the work on this model was done with a series 33, size 1.

    Hey Matt,
    I was wondering if you could do a video on painting IronJaws Orcs from Age of Sigmar? Maybe as an added challenge do white armor with some weathering/damage techniques!

    Do you use your contrast straight from the pot, or do you mix it with contrast medium/similar?
    Loved the video, thank you!

    • @MattsHobbyHour
      @MattsHobbyHour  День назад

      Straight from the pot on to my palette. For contrast, I use a plastic palette with little indentations/wells. I don't recommend a wet palette. I don't use any medium or water to dilute the paints unless specifically mentioned in the video. Thanks for watching!

    Hey bud a quick question, what paint brush were you using? any specific brand etc? i really stuggle to get good lines when highlighting due to my lack of a good brush for that sort of thing.

    • @MattsHobbyHour
      @MattsHobbyHour  День назад +2

      Made me realize I forgot to include brush info in the video description, I'll get that added! I bgg use Rosemary and Co brushes, series 99 and 33 (33 is better, 99 is good and less expensive). I use sizes 0,1 and 2. Most of this model was painted with a Series 33, size 1. Hope this helps! Good luck and thanks for watching!
