"Give me the Rams. Their offense wasn't great during this era." The Greatest Show on Turf lol I know I'm super late to this but I was cracking up as soon as you said that
Love this game, honestly the customization is what keeps me coming back. Getting to pick out the players faces and body types along with the outfit combos gives them so much personality.
remember this game so vividly. it was so fun and enjoyable and hit the spot that madden never could. the maps were awesome except for the beach one though, that one was always a snoozefest. other than that this game was an absolute gem. being the youngest of 4, it was hard to get my greasy paws on the controller and the game already being difficult i lost all the time but i had good plays here and there that kept me going. they really need to bring this back
I bought this game for Gamecube about 2 weeks ago and i agree that it holds up surprisingly well. If i remember right, after you complete street 2 you can import your character into madden 06. Maybe a series idea there?
So the trick for this game for team optimization is making 1-2 "dud" players when you're creating your team. Basically all 0s in everything. These are the players that will be replaced by one "current" NFL player and one legend, so there's no need to waste any points on them. Masochists can do 3 duds. But generally 1-2 works perfectly. On offense, you put him at center. On D, he should be either a DT or an MLB. Maybe the safety in single high. Now on Street 2, you don't have to do this method because XP is generally more plentiful. You can actually get close to a maxed out team in Street 2, especially if you use the challenge mode glitch.
Ooo the two dud method is one I haven’t tried yet actually. I’ve done the 1 Dud Legend Build. I also have done many 1 at a time builds as well (for example 1 Elite Player with all initial 8K Points and 6 duds) and if you do it right (User on D and elite QB or RB on O) it works well enough to where you can use the Challenge Points on the other 5 players.
My childhood was this game and madden. As a kid I couldn’t wait to grow up to see the evolution of these games as technology got better. Game developers have failed us tremendously for sports games.. sad that these 20 year old games are still better than current
I’ve just got back into this in late 2023. I was doing challenges & completing division ladders without realizing you can scroll right for more challenges 😂😂 so now I’ve got a nasty defense with a “pass-heavy” offense and I made my DB into a sick RB as well. So much fun and a blast from the past!!
Great series! Lots of great memories! Not that you need any advice but holding down L1 will give you “style points” that earn game breakers. Also, if you hold it down when you throw, you will throw a style pass. Always advise using your gamebreaker on defense! Excited to see more of this!
You can also use the trick/show off modifier when you make throws or do juke moves and it does fancy stuff for easy extra points. Game breaker is either user is near impossible to tackle or user causes a fumble every time.
Cane, my favorite game of all time is NFL street, so I'm thrilled you're playing this. Here are some words of advice from a guy that's had hundreds of hours in this game The nose tackle in the "depth chart" becomes a linebacker in defensive plays with 2 down lineman, so maybe put Reddick there and put Alan Johnson on the edge. Because of that, on offense the Center doesn't always have a man to block, so put your weakest blocker there and then move your best blocker to one of the tackle spots and run to that side more often As you may have found passing is more efficient yardage-wise but not for style and building your gamebreaker. After moving Johnson to a tackle spot I'd recommend running a little more to build that gamebreaker. As with real life, when your team is underpowered, you gotta rely more on the high variance strat and not just try and beat the greatest show on turf Rams straight up lol. Finally scramble more! Reddick isn't good enough of a reliable passer and the receivers aren't skilled enough relative to the competition, so you gotta treat this team like you're the Eagles with Hurts and scramble and run more Hope you keep up the series!
Helpful tip: You automatically get a Legend at the end of the game from the Legends game. Also remember you can only use 7 players in a game, so if you do steal players remember not to upgrade your player at that position.
This game was legendary we had full on 2v2 Street tourneys on the ps2 with the multi-tap and taking our create a player team all the way to canton to face the legends, what a gem
This game brings back memories, when playing splitscreen with friends was still a thing. I wish they would remaster or make a new nfl street. Loved this game
Hudson loomen heck yeah👍 . My fav canoverse created player. I'm glad he is getting some more love. He ain't the best most talented player but he had heart an played his butt off. Thanks cane for showing him so love.
Im sure you know this but im going to give you all the insight I know. Each division you get 800 tokens. Once they’re gone you have to do the ladder to earn 800 more tokens. The ladder is beating 4 teams in a row from a division. I highly suggest not stealing a player. I would do they challenges that give over 1000 dev points. They’re harder and take time. I’d also run more until you get your passing and catching better. You want to do challenges that give most dev points. I hope that helps. Also those points for game breaker only get used once and you have to earn them again. Always suggest using them on defense unless you can win the game on that drive. Last edit. Holding in L1 will give you style which gives more gamebreaker points. However you will fumble if hit doing it.
Dang bro, I used my savings my grandma had for me on an actually nfl street football. I left it at the football field was playing at and never got it back :( .. None the less, love this game!
Popped street 2 in a little while back, played the king of the street or whatever it’s called. ALWAYS max out qb speed. You get to a point where it’s incredibly hard to pass.
If you will hold the style button when you throw you can do the fancy ones. And I think when you are about to score make a habit of holding down the style button and doing a dive as he does some fancy dive at the end for a chunk
Are you playing this on playstation or is it being emulated on pc? I loved this game back in the day and kinda want to do a play thru but I dont have a ps2 anymore
DO NOT steal players from teams. It is not worth the tokens. It is way better to earn development points and make the editable players beasts. You can't use dev points on NFL players you steal but can try and improve some attributes with the impact gear you can earn. Lastly, when you are out of tokens you need to go through the "ladder" where you beat every team in the division as well as their all star team. This also unlocks the next division. Also, definitely would recommend the running game being your #1 option. I LOVED this game growing up if you couldn't tell haha
Unless you intentionally make two players 0 in all attributes and plan on stealing Simeon Rice and Ronnie Lott, stealing NFL players is not a good thing in this game. Totally agree that running the ball is the number 1 option in this game while in NFL Street 2, a balanced attack is a great thing.
Excited for this series ! Was wondering however with a lot of creators getting custom team for revamped ncaa 14 any thoughts on doing that? Would be cool to get a new college football team on the channel
Whenever you get gamebreaker saving it until the other team gets there and you both activate at the same time it will neutralize both gamebreakers which would make it more realistic and be pretty cool Some gear unlocked will also buff attributes IE glove + 3 catching
Would love to see a full series! Stealing a player from the other teams is the best. I remember as a kid going Orlando Pace, a raiders WR, and then Randy moss but played him at RB and he was amazing
My first team I made had a random back. A huge fullback like white guy who I storied as an Arkansas redneck, considering I grew up in Arkansas. So, it turned out to be quite fun to play this game.
I need you to play NFL street 2. It’s three modes you can choose from though! NFL challenge ( which is more like this but longer ), NFL gauntlet ( same style as this but it keeps going ), and OWN the city ( which is more of a story mode )!! Would love the playthrough
Alll the success NBA2k is having is thanks to the addition of its NBA street mode on the blacktop. Imagine if madden incorporated this. Where you could play pick up 7 on 7 with your created player.
This game was great, then Street 2 came out and changed it all, game was amazing! Along side with Nba St, 1,2,& 3 were incredible 💪 I miss all these games so much! Hell I miss Fifa Street, I seriously wish and hope they would remaster either NFL or NBA Street games, they need it! Imagine this game being able to be online now a days, the possibilities 😏 But all seriousness, this was my childhood before Halo 3 and Mw2 came out and then everything changed! NFL Street 2 will always have a place in my heart, I seriously want a remake and hope it happens one day 🙏🙏🙏
Very excited about the series, however I think you have mispronounced Waddell. Waddell is my middle name. It’s pronounced Wad (as in a spit wad) Dell (as in the pc brand). You can build your team differently every time crazy how many times the NFL challenge is replayable
Better then every Madden in the past 10 years
Me and my cousin played this ALL DAY, EVERYDAY for hours straight when we were little. Being a kid back then was so special

Very possible if we make it that far.
that's true. you could either load it from ncaa football or nfl street. pretty fun no lie.
Also you can earn bonus credits if you any save files of NFL Street 1, NBA Street, SSX 3 and GoldenEye Rogue Agent
This game looks good and all but where can i buy packs to get better players?
Lmao
