You should do a Poison-type run for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum or the remakes. Between Lucian and Bertha in the Elite Four, it should provide an interesting challenge!
Playing using your intuition is so much more fun in terms of being surprised. It's also a bit more exciting since there's more risk added to it, so I'm down without the damage calcs
if not doing calcs is fun for you, ofc i have no problem if you keep going! i like seeing both calculated and intuitive runs, this was a fun one for sure

@@jordaneversole3125 Yeah that's why the theoretical minimum is 9. Theoretical because not all type combinations exist much less in a whole game. It's a really interesting idea tbh. I'm doing a Heartgold run through now so I'm trying to think what my team would be. Probably go for Cyndaquil as starter since Fire is the rarest.
I recently finished playing Pokemon Blue with all Ground types. My team was Sandslash, Dugtrio, Nidoking, Rhydon, Marowak, and Onix. It was a lot of fun! Thanks for posting, AntlerBoy! You're awesome!
Love your videos, can always rely on you for a good half hour of entertainment. Would love to possibly see another legends arceus run, and keep up the amazing work Edit: also you could have done Jutland to represent Denmark a little bit
I must admit this is probably the best nuzlocke from a story telling perspective haha "letting" one Pokémon die before the 2 min mark to establish just how tough this video is gonna be then afterwards losing someone at just about every turn to the point of having not even a full team in the end. And ofc the finale with focus sash excadrill was just the cherry on top very well done sir!
Battling without calcs was such a breath of fresh air. Don’t get me wrong, I understand why people do calcs(I do sometimes too) but it’s personally more enjoyable to see runs that don’t use them. Love seeing your challenge videos and they even inspired me to start doing monolockes too. Right now I’m still trying to beat a Heartgold Flying-type only run.
I decided to make my own nuzlocke after watching yours and finally posted it today! Do you have any advice for a new youtuber starting out with nuzlockes? Any advice would be appreciated! Your video was great as always man!
The fact that you were down to your very last Pokémon on literally 1 HP in a game that's supposed to be incredibly easy using one of the best, most powerful offensive types in the game just proves what a difference the calcs are for runs. This was fun to watch all the way through!
Personally I think I like it when you don't run calcs, it adds just that little bit of challenge, but I'd watch you still even if you did run calcs!! I just binged your entire series xD
Honestly the lack of calls added a satisfying level of tension that is otherwise missing from most nuzlocke content since most people that do nuzlockes play as optimally as possible. Obviously for certain runs its kinda necessary but for ones like this one I think it makes everything more exciting
I know I'm a couple days late now, but I love the more casual style of play. To be fair I feel like it's been well established that you and the other members of the new nuzlocke community *could* conceivably beat just about any challenge, and for many of us it's not about that anymore. We just enjoy coming along for the ride! Play for fun sometimes! Every now and again I like to try a run where I don't "rules lawyer" anything (no dupes clause, allow gifts, etc) and even though that means I end up at the elite four with a team of 4 Bibarels and a Gastrodon, that's just the way it goes and it's still a blast.
This is great i was thinking about doing a ground type hardcore nuzlocke and this helps (also I didn't know where u could find the first ground type so I was looking for that and I was looking for which game to play so thx!)
Love the team against Leon, 4 super strong, brutal pokemon ready to kill everyone in their way and then there's some Cashy Boi who's just happy to be there :D
Golurk sac makes me so sad why antler boy why Also your reading of Whiscash’s move set was awesome, the announcer voice saying “tickle” after dragon dance is pristine
Dude... wtf kinda ending was that!!!?? That was AMAZING! As a player who loves luzlocking himself, that was SO impressive! Next nuzlocke you should try is... Flying types only!
If anyone gets a reply where it’s my profile picture asking you to add me on Telegram - don’t do it! It is not me and I’m not even sure what Telegram is. Hope you enjoy the video :))
You really had me during that last fight. If you want to not do Calcs because you think it's more fun I say do it. Personally I should do them more because i hate losing Pokémon during challenges.
I've been curious if the rules allow you to prog through the isle of armor enough to get access to the cram-o-matic, then if so, if you are allowed to use it. You mention the thing with Mudbray's ability and I know you can make ability capsules fairly easily, so I assume it's more how out of the way it is comparatively or a rule thing (or a restriction you decided on beyond the rules, like the body press and substitute strats).
Well done on this nuzlocke. I enjoy your content. I just wondering if you could try nuzlocke grass type on HG/SS? Most of gyms in Gen 2 were resistant/ strong against grass type. Hope you could take this!
The -stan suffix in central Asian countries is effectively equivalent to land, it's from Persian/Turkic. So perhaps if you went with a LAND nickname theme again, you could go with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc. Also, there are provinces in some Germanic speaking European countries that end in land, such as Zeeland, Gelderland, Sjaelland, or East and West Gotaland
In the Crown Tundra it's possible to catch a Nidoran and evolve it, so you could've gotten a whole team going into Leon. Clutch win with the rock slide though, loved it!
I just won my first nuzlocke, so now I have a win of 13%. It was fire red, I won by critical hit Ice beam on blue's venasaur. Lots of ev training but it's enough.
I from Poland and i have to say that its cool to see my country im this playthrou and on excadrill one of my favorite pokemon. Greatings from Poland :D and i hope to see note Polish reference on chanels or playthrous like this one. PS.sorry for my english im bether with speaking ;p
I played a Ground monotype run of Shield a while back. It wasn't a Nuzlocke but I did keep all my Pokémon limited to the level cap and I only allowed myself a team as big as the Leader while entering the gym. (I also chose not to use Excadrill, Flygon or Garchomp because it would be too easy :p). I lost to Opal's trainer gauntlet and it took me FIVE TRIES to beat Melony! I kept a Nincada all the way until the semi-finals JUST to deal with Hop's Rillaboom! I even used Shield's new breeding mechanics to teach it Night Slash just in case. It was the only Pokémon I allowed myself to overlevel. I also had a Dragon Dance Whiscash :p I used it to just bowl over Allister, it was a hoot.
If anyone gets a reply where it's my profile picture asking you to add me on Telegram - don't do it!
It is not me and I'm not even sure what Telegram is.
Hope you enjoy the video :))
Would love to see a Grass run in X or Moon!
Do a Pokémon nuzlocke with shinys of every type, no overlapping types in platinum
Är du svensk
U should do a bug type nuzlocke in pokemon x or y (if u haven't already)
You should do a Poison-type run for Diamond/Pearl/Platinum or the remakes. Between Lucian and Bertha in the Elite Four, it should provide an interesting challenge!
Personally I loved the lack of Calcs, every battle felt more intense and it felt more challenging. But honestly just do whatever is more fun for you.
I think it’s fun in runs with lots of really good encounters to make things more interesting, but impossible in more restrictive runs!
yeah, the calcs should be reserved for kaizo runs
"challenging" while using *lategame* perfect movesets with earthquakes/protects etc. left and right...yeah, not really. Funny vid nonetheless
