My son has schizophrenia and he thinks people are telling home things other than what they're saying to him. for example: A waitress in a restaurant asked if he wanted a refill on his iced tea and he got really mad b/c he thought she told him he needs to kill himself. It's really scary taking him out b/c we never know what he's going to do.

I understand, I hear things like that but I just try to hear it in a lighter fashion so I don’t freak out. I usually just ask my husband if he heard it too and he responds to me in a formal fashion if it happened or not

As a Schizophrenic myself, I have taught myself in those situations to suppress the negative things I hear as the illness at play and if a response is needed to give an appropriate response, I personally will not ask anyone if they heard the same thing as I did. I have a real hard time in letting people see me negatively, so i try to be positive which can be very exhausting too, but it does help. He needs to go out and experience life and teach his mind how to cope with the illness, having someone there is so so great and overtime he will learn how to handle things better.

Amateur Aries aye beautiful lemme drop some knowledge on you.
#1 the voices are around from other people sending you their thoughts because you have the psychic power to hear the thoughts of other people. Some people are so good with it that they can sense you while you can hear them. #2 I'm sorry about your idiot friend that hurt you, you didn't deserve that but the conscience is just a natural part of who you are because you're an aries, god of war but not battle strategy. Your reaction to pain from others is attack and defend because you are who you are.
#3 when your spirit broke, you opened the door to the ability, it's something we do from the trauma on accident to search for a reason as to why we got hurt even if we didn't want it because we felt that no one related to us and we wanted comfort until they get aggressive and they don't listen because they're terrible with communication a lot of the time, but you aren't alone.
#4 I don't know if you believe in a higher power but the fact that you have telepathy means you have a power deep within your mind and soul.
#5 you can control it with faith in yourself and belief that you can control it by believing hard enough.
#6 you're a smart girl because you're paranoid which means you're aware of what happens in the world you live in and it subconsciously scares you
#7 I've had schizophrenia for about a year, they've told me to kill myself and I tried hanging myself from the shower curtain with a belt, I failed but then they told me to kill someone and and I nearly broke down a neighbors door to kill them and take their money to pay for better medication and food because I didn't have much at the time I stopped for reasons I won't say, they told me many things but after that I learned that they don't have control of me.
#8 you have to pay attention to yourself more, the shadow people are just projecting thoughts on you to scare you enough to get off of your "phone," or to close the "door." I see them too but not well enough because I scare the people that throw them at me ( this ability dates back to the feudal Era and ninjas used shadow manipulation it's written in scrolls."
#9 they call it schizophrenia because they don't know everything about it but it's been around for longer than the word was made for it. And you do have the ability to control it because you're special.
      #10 you're cute as Fuck
#11 I've been practicing how to control it with just believing hard enough that they will go away that they've started disappearing and by next year I'll be able to control it completely.
And please don't cut no more, the scars are only wordless poems we tatoo on our bodies to show ourselves that we feel and it doesn't kill us but in the moment it feels better than the emotion we've felt from people who don't care that we feel. You're beautiful, smart, funny, and have great taste in music plus a hot bod and deep eyes that tell the story of your soul. Be greatful for that and respect your soul by not harming the body it created. Hope this helps a bit.

God bless you. I had a couple of breaks when I was young. It started when I was 5 and my best friend died. I started seeing things. The imaginary friends started to arrive. Things-like maniquins started to talk to me. I was terrified. I could not tell anyone my parents would not have understood. Thankfully I grew out of it-for the most part. I am still wary of any trauma triggering it again. But for a while, I could not tell what was reality and what wasn't. I am adopted and I later as an adult found my birthfather. He has OCD to the point he was hospitalized and his maternal uncle, my great uncle had schizophrenia. He died of insulin coma experimental therapy for it in the 1950's. I think my birthfather was protected by his father's DNA and I was protected one generation further by my birthmother's. Thank you for putting this out.

I’m actually not on anything at the moment, haven’t been on antipsychotics in a few years due to how expensive it was. I’m going back to see a psychiatrist this week. Schizophrenia I think comes from a number of things depending on lifestyle. Trauma, virus (a virus hosted by cats can cause schizophrenic episodes in humans), certain chemicals, hereditary. I have no idea on my own part though.

Can you or someone you know see/hear voices/spirits ? Well, if there is a God, then there are also angels, demons and other spirit entities. Since most people (90%) don't have a third eye/ear, they think people who can see/hear spirits are just crazy. But they are NOT. You can get schizophrenia from various reasons like a serious head injury, use of illegal drugs, practice of witchcraft/black magic, or by experiencing traumatic events like rape, bullying, deadly accident or near-death experience. Anything that seriously weakens your body, embitters your soul, or weakens your faith in God. That condition breaks the seal of protection (your aura) and enables the evil spirits to communicate with you.
Spirits communicate on a certain wavelength that ONLY you can hear/see, while others can't. The wavelength you get to access depends on your LEVEL of spirituality. If you're a good & decent person, you'll access MOSTLY angels and saints. And vice versa for bad people mostly demons. Sometimes the voices are your dead relatives or friends trying to help you. Sometimes its just a random spirit that takes interests in you. Random spirits often live in hospitals, morgue, dungeons, cemeteries or abandoned houses. Don't visit them if you're spiritually weak or broken.
Spirits can DISTORT speech. For example if your friend is talking to you nicely as usual, youll instead hear him/her MOCKING you, so youll get ANGRY. Spirits can also shape-shift - appear in any form (animal or people) they desire. Spirits can also imitate peoples looks/voices like those of your parents, friends even your enemies and pretend like real people. They can also create noises like knocking on doors, scratching on walls, screaming or crying people, footsteps, police sirens, dog barks etc. Like people some spirits are good while some are bad. Some are bright, others are dumb. Most bad spirits want to isolate you by making people think you're crazy.
There are also spirits who play tricks on you - joker or jester. The sooner you realize this the better you can cope with it. If a problem is spiritual, the solution is also SPIRITUAL. Get close to God. BTW this is NOT a substitute for NOT taking your medicines. Take them if it helps. I also found out Worship Praise Songs helps block the voices, even drives them far away !! Use a headphone or earpiece so you don't disturb others. Sing with the song praises and shut them up good ! I've dealt with this problem for 25 years now. I'm OK now .

I was misdiagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia for years, I started hearing voices and seeing things when I was around 12-13(I don't remember clearly) but I got that diagnose when I was 20-22-ish. But they suddenly dissappeared two years ago and I got a serious investigation done about diagnoses and what not and it turned out I have autism(which makes it easier to develop psychosis and hallucinations induced by trauma or stress) and traumas of my childhood/teenage years went untreated made me starting to hear voices, seeing things and being forced to leave school in 8th grade. And it was horrible,it was like living inside of a nightmare and not being able to wake from it.
Today, even though I realized I was misdiagnosed, I'm terrified of relapsing back into such a period. Everytime I hear a noise I can't identify I get slightly panicked, and ask anyone if they heard it too, because I'm so so afraid to be back there.
Sending all the strength to you to keep on going! You seem like you've been through a lot and you sound very strong and stern, it's your life, not the voices'. Keep ondoing you!

Schizophrenia: All psychiatrist believes that the hearing voices was a patients brain problem, but in reality it is not. All the hallucination (hearing voices) and delusions were just manifested by his Demons (rebellious angels) and thier leader Satan the Devil (the ruler of the demons). Please read all the informations below gathered from the New World Translation Bible. I hope you benefits and learn how cruel and wicked this evil spirits are.
Please read this in your own Bible: Revelation 12:7-9 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.
This billions of wicked angels with their leader Satan the Devil were all spirits in form. They can go and out of your mind anytime they want, they can encourage you to do something. You can find in Luke 8:2 as were certain women who had been cured of wicked spirits and sicknesses: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had come out. Imagine there was only seven (7) demons came out her body & brain. In Mark 5:2 Jesus got met a man under the power of an unclean spirit met him from among the tombs. But in Mark 5:9 Jesus asked him: “What is your name?” And he replied: “My name is Legion, because there are many of us.” In case of Mary Magdalene, I think she was not in trouble with any psychotic problems like the man under the power of unclean spirit with their name "Legion" because they are too many. We can now compare that Mary was only suffering with minor issues while the man which was found among the tombs was having a mental illness due to many spirits in his mind and body. He was overloaded with wicked spirits that's why he was going crazy and does'nt recognize anyone.
I hope this information helps you. May Jehovah God end all of this sufferings and problems in His specific time.
In Revelation 16:14 states that: They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and they perform signs, and they go out to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.

Hearing her talk about the dark voices in her head when she was a teen, really struck a chord with me. When I was a teen, I heard voices saying very similar things (not as frequently but still very consistently) and I almost followed through but backed out at the last minute. Then the voices got louder, calling me a coward and such, but I refused to listen.
I know I am not schizophrenic, because the voices and delusions have been gone since I got over my depression, but I can understand the realness of it.
I must be so hard to know what's real and what's not, in the beginning.

This is so fascinating. I'm not schizophrenic, but when i was a teen i went through a very hard period, where i was not only severly bullied, but also my family was toxic.
I started hearing this whispering voice in my head, telling me how to murder everyone in brutally violent ways. My peers, my family members...It will describe everything in details and i will just imagine every stain of blood and aggression. I knew it was wrong, I knew it was not just thoughts, but i had no control over it. I would only snap out of it, when it had obssesed me so much that my body would start acting on its own. That's when i was like "What the hell are you doing, you are not this evil thing that is whispering to you, are you?"
It disappeared after my situation got better and i never knew depression can cause hearing the same type of voices schizophrenic people do.

What does the voices feel like? Do they sound like a person talking to you (being in front of you and talking to you) or does it sound like you're talking? Like when there's a vibration when we talk. I've always wondered that. Are the sound of their voices close or far?

    • @amateuraries

Zet Walter personally for me, I can tell it’s inside my head. As I get older or more stressed during the day I might not realize they are in my head anymore because of splits in reality for me. Which is something I’ll eventually do a video on.

I know what you mean by not being able to repeat the things that are said by the voices. The hardest thing is how others think it's not real. It's like trying to explain what swimming is to someone who has never seen or heard of water. But you can't expect people to believe the unbelievable, do I try to understand that they never will. Realizing the voices only have the power of suggestion helps me a lot too.

It's amazing that you're able to be so objective about your symptoms. Was there ever a time when it wasn't so clear that the voices were simply manifestations of your mind? Did you ever believe you might be hearing people's thoughts or communicating with outside entities, for instance? As if what you describe isn't bad enough, but at least you're able to confront it for what it is (or as best we understand it anyway). Thanks for posting.

The former has symptoms of 'hearing voices/delusional thoughts' and decrease energy/mood swings, and the latter is altering personalities.

You're story sounds a lot like mine. When going through it i kept it to myself thinking everybody knew what was going on but couldn't tell me. I lived life normally thinking when the time was right somebody would talk to me and tell me what was going on. I covered my ears one day and realized the voices were not outside but in my head. I got scared and created a fictional story but I was being protected so I went on life normally until the voices followed me throughout the day and wouldn't stop. It was non stop and many voices, one familiar. I told my mom she better tell me what's going on or I would kill someone. She was confused and took me to the hospital and the voices told me, "you don't know these people, run" still the voices were non stop and something that seemed like something from another dimension happened that night. Anyway, I woke up in a room with someone talking to her children who were not there. I felt relieved because now someone had to tell me what is going on. They gave me a pill and I acted like I took it. 2 weeks later they let me go. I never took medication. I read up on it when I left the hospital and now I rarely hear them only at night or early morning. If it happens again I will take note of my mood. Now, I try to practice spirituality. The first illusion i remember is sitting my arm on my stomach and feeling a snake slither and i dropped my arm and felt like i wanted to vomit. From there the hallucinations began and got worse. Now i try to stay positive and get rid of fear. Being positive is easy but getting rid of fear not so much. I try to eat right and cruelty fred and I excercise. Anyway, thanks for sharing. There's not a lot of info on this and I do get scared thinking about it sometimes. Best wishes to you and your journey.

You''re such a strong woman, mental illness is so rough and it's often hard to cope especially when the ptople around you don't completely understand it. I suffer from depression, But I have a friend who was diagnosed as schizophrenic when he was 30 (I knew him for 6 years before he got sick) It came on for him suddenly and I could tell was extremely hard. My sister has that illness too 😔 what I always noticed about her is that she is a highly sensitive person. There is a theory out there, in esoteric circles at least, that schizophrenics have for whatever reason such an opened chakra system, like the higher chakras are waaaay open, so much so that they involuntarily tap into the 4th dimension, which is generally seen as a place where super hurt and traumatized souls dwell 😔 the fifth dimension is an awesome place with gentle higher evolved beings (if you believe in esoteric concepts ..) So I've just always felt that my sister or someone like you are just highly highly sensitive and too open, so all the shitty stuff from these beings in the 4th dimension see you and try to bring you down on their level basically, which is a horrible thought. Most people don't even believe in ghosts etc because they do not perceive them at all, they are super based and grounded in 3D so to speak. I hope that in the future there will be a "cure" without heavy medication. But these are just my two cents 💗

I find your video very interesting... I suffer from paranoid schizophrenia... I started hearing voices a few year ago, there was a number of them, but there was 3 main ones that told me to call them grandfather, father and mother. The others i was told to call brothers and sisters... I started hearing the voices about 3 months after i tried to take my own life. They said they was trying to save me and that they was dimensional beings, which in it self i find very interesting because there are people that believe there are beings that control this world in the background.
Anyway i would just like to thank you for sharing your video

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. They are very close to what my stepdaughter has gone through. She is 30 now and I've known her since she was 8.
Voices: Until she was around 27, there were about 7 voices with another that was a group. Each of the voices had a name and the group she called "The pretty women." At the time, she would write short stories about the principal voice, it was that domineering. It seemed at times that she could not differentiate between 'real' voices of people talking to her and the voices in her head.
The voices were absolutely very very real to her as well as being very persuasive.
At 30, the voices are less common but proportionally more insistent and argumentive. Her episodes can be violent though rarer.
I've not watched your video on "A Schizophrenicss Journal" but, if the drawing in the thumbnail is anything to go by, I think I know what to expect.
    Thank you again.

I’m a schizophrenic. I suggest keeping parts of your house white or with bright colors to lift your mood up. My father also has paint with canvas signs to remind me of things for example “life is too short to be anything but happy” and “smile”. We also have a picture of Jesus with candles and flowers so I can study the bible or pray whenever I feel that I need to find answers on something. Because the bible always has answers to whatever your problems may be. I don’t know if you’re religious or not but the bible as always been my life book.
Also, try to limit how much screen time you give yourself: computer, television, your iPhone/smartphone. You don’t want to overwhelm yourself which might trigger hallucinations, delusions, social anxiety, depression, etc.
Diet and sleep are a huge factor too, try to get a lot of sleep. Rub lavander oils on your hands then put it to your face in a circular motion. Then put relaxing music on youtube or I use this app called “calm” put it on your nightstand.
Also, try to notice how you act: are you not maintaining eye-contact when you talk to people? Do you find yourself forgetting the topic of the conversation?

I’m a little late to this video, but I’ve been reading the comments and I would just like to apologize for every person who left a comment attacking you. My fiancé is currently in the process of perhaps being diagnosed with schizophrenia, but even if he has something different, he goes through a lot of what you talked about in your video. Of course, I only know what he can tell me and I’m sure I don’t fully understand, but I know how scary it can be for him. The last thing you need is people telling you you’re doing something wrong, and that’s the reason for your problems, or telling you you’re faking it/wrong about your diagnosis.
Thank you for making this video! It has really helped me with talking to him and understanding what he goes through.

I have a friend who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. Last night I made the mistake of drinking with her, and she relapsed. She believed I was attacking her, we started arguing, and she then attacked me. She was taken to jail. How can I help her? She keeps leaving for months, unmedicated, constantly throwing her life and friends away. I want to see her stable. Is there anything I can do?

    • @amateuraries
      @amateuraries  6 лет назад +16

Maddi Will unfortunately there is not much others can do. She needs to be seen by a doctor and make sure she’s always on her medications. Even on meds, people can relapse, and in that scenario you have to remain calm, and remember the situation. Be reassuring. I’ve had plenty of people walk out of my life due to my disorders and that caused extreme abandonment issues which only worsened my episodes and made me more paranoid.

    • @zerosertezeroserte3843
      @zerosertezeroserte3843 6 лет назад +1

Amateur Aries So basically just keep trying to be there? A friend and I are going to be trying an intervention when she gets out of jail. She was planning on running away to the other side of the state before she was arrested.

    • @amateuraries
      @amateuraries  6 лет назад +10

It is not uncommon for schizophrenics to try running away or even becoming homeless, it is sad but society has generally made them uncomfortable, fearful or paranoid due to others mistreating or misunderstanding them. I don't know how well an intervention will work, if she's a paranoid schizophrenic she may take it completely opposite of what your hoping for. She might feel barred in, judged even but if your reassuring and honest, hopefully you can get through. Now I am not a doctor, and I am no way in saying that whatever I say is full on correct on how you should be handling the situation but from my point of view and from my experiences, just tread carefully. Whenever someone wanted to 'talk to me,' say, my father, I'd start getting paranoid quickly, thinking about all the bad scenarios, and wanting to run away right then and there. Just be careful. If she does agree, maybe someone should go to her doctor's appointments with her? Even if you can't enter the room, wait for her so she sees she's not alone?

      @diederts9899 6 лет назад +3

      Hi Maddi,
it can be heartbreaking to see a friend going through this.
I would recommend the following in a step by step kind of way.
1: Trust your instincts. They will tell you what is appropriate to say or do at a given moment.
2: Don't blame yourself if you can't help. Depending on the kind of hallucination a person has, it can be really hard to convince them that they are not real. I would say that because hers are unpleasant, it would be nice to think they are not real. However, the distrust makes it hard to seek help.
On the other hand, people who think they are Jesus are notoriously difficult to convince they are not, since they have so much to lose.
Also, in the end what she needs is to take meds to stop the hallucinations (see below).
3: If she is hallucinating, try to find out what it is about. Sometimes you can help by going along with it, but be very careful. You are getting into the territory of what professionals would do.
4: Tell or show her that you want to be there for her.
5: Giving a hug can really help. You can ask if she wants one if you are unsure. That can really break a feeling of loneliness or isolation. It goes straight to the heart. Of course, if she sees you as dangerous, doing this is a very bad idea, because getting closer would feel as a threat
6: Encouragement to socialise: People with schizophrenia tend to do much better if they are around people regularly.
7: Is she aware that she has a problem and what it is? If not, you might be able to bring it up at the right time. If she is not aware, you could say something like you worry about her and are afraid she might have schizophrenia.
8: If she is aware, make sure she doesn't feel guilty. It is not her fault, it is a disease, just like the flu.
9: Encouragement to seek help and take medication at the right moment. I have observed that people who take their meds gradually (over years) get a much better life.
10 Helping her to realise that taking medication is choosing the lesser of two evils: they have terrible side effects, but the alternative is like trying to get up and falling down time and again.
I hope any of this is helpful. I wish you all the best

Thankyou for that video, i feel like you were talking about my youngest daughter in some ways as she is struggling too. She hasn't yet been officially diagnosed but I know the psychiatrists suspected something on her first hospital admission for psychosis. I know my daughter sees a fly and is forever trying to find a solution to a problem that can't be solved no matter how many times I put logic to her. She shows other symptoms with her memory and struggles with schoolwork, I feel like it's a battle going in her head that she's afraid to tell us much about even though my husband and I are there to support her. We have three children with special needs as our son is in a wheelchair with severe disabilities and my two daughters who are both autistic but Zoe shows definite signs of schizophrenia and depression as well. I think you were were very brave to talk to so many people about what you have to go through everyday, and there are not enough thankyou's and virtual hugs to go around for that. But if I could give you a hug I would, so but thankyou for helping me support my little girl, who is 14 and starting what may be a very bumpy road in life. Xxx

That's really interesting. I also hear voices during depressive episodes, but I know it's not schizophrenia because it's always just one voice, my voice, and it feels like when I'm normally thinking, except the voice is yelling at me, getting upset at me and telling me to hurt myself. I actually used to self harm because it was the only way to make it calmer, though sometimes it'd yell at me afterwards too. That's the only time I hear a voice though, and it only happens during major depressive episodes. But this, and your video is helping me understand schizophrenia better. Thank for you sharing!

Anyway now that he’s 27yo he’s finally been properly diagnosed and I pray he can learn to manage his symptoms like you are. My biggest guilt is those voices for him the most menacing to him is my voice yelling at him but saying the worst things to him like things I would never say 😞 but all those times I yelled at him sometimes even screamed at him have caused my voice to torment him.

Unfortunately, even if you hadn’t yelled, most times the voices are of people we are familiar with. Good or bad.

I have voices in my head but I think that's more of my depression and anxiety attacking me...so I'm basically attacking myself But if I'm doing something that makes me happy they go away so idk.

Anxiety and depression can both cause voices so maybe, go see a psychiatrist for there opinion.

I have a question if you don’t mind. I have anxiety and depression as well. I really only started to experience it this last year. This is a stupid question but are the “voices” your own conscience? Kind of like you just said? I always have racing thoughts, etc

Rose Fontana Yeeah all voices even the ones people with schizophrenia get are just there subconscious thoughts, they just seem way more real. As if they are hearing them from outside there head.

Dia Duit ( Hello in Irish).. I came across a few of your videos and I can relate big time. I have severe bipolar among other disorders. Its tough I know. Meds can be just as much of a hardship as our illnesses. Though its either side effects, or complete hell that will make you wish for death. Trust me I know all about it. Looking forward to future videos from you. Stay tough...and never give up. God Bless.

I can tell you are hearing voices in this video. You just seem very distracted as you are talking.

For Charity hey, I've seen your comments on a few different personal mental health videos. I like your tact and the way you put things. You seem like a calming person.

ADHD means cut the sugar carbs and dairy and meditate and exercise and find what you have a passion for and focus on that. It's about balance, not a disease.

I'm sorry that this is a long comment--First, thank you for your courage! I appreciate your for your candor, your honesty, and for you just being totally you. I have no doubt that you are genuine. I have watched multiple of similar videos, and I did not feel the "trueness", (probably not grammatically correct, but I don't really care, lol).
I believe your spirit is just amazing--you have a strength about you that is not common. You probably don't realize that...but I really and truly do. I have been a psych nurse for 21 years, and I've seen these struggles. You, my dear, are a gem! Also, I lost my 19 year old son this year old to this affliction--he died by suicide. He could not tolerate the depression associated with this...he could not bear to talk about it. He thought he was a freak--a lunatic. He couldn't sleep without music blaring, or after he got older without smoking weed to dampen the noise. Even though this is what I do for a living EVERY day, I had no idea this was his reality, because he kept it all in himself. He told no-one. Not a soul. We only found out after he died, in his writings. Even the closest of his friends ever knew.
Please, keep talking. Keep communicating with your sweet message to those who are too embarrassed about their own "crazy" reality. YOU are going to save lives. You are an inspiration.
