My late mother told me about Alamo Navajo..... How they ended up down by Socorro, New Mexico.... The story goes back when the United States Government was gathering up Navajo.... The government hired Navajo and Apache scouts.... Upon release in 1868 the US government thought that some Navajo was going to retaliate against the Navajo scouts, so the Government gave them land by Socorro New Mexico.... Navajo scouts were treated special by the United States government with water and food when they were held captive....
I've heard that story as well, which is why we wanted to interview the local residence who grew up there and hear their take. Ahe' hee for sharing your insight.
something i do to keep the risk of fire down in my home is i keep a bucket of sand by my wood stove to smother any thing that falls out cold ash would work too hope this might be helpful it might sound like a small thing but it could make a big difference

Taylor, after the navajos and diné were released they were forced to live with the diné on the same rez.
