Bear v Snake | Cabezon Peak, New Mexico
Before there were highways and modern infrastructure, there were stories shared within the family and community about ancient giants that roamed the land. Their presence made the holy people intervene and put a stop to the conflicts.
Today, the remnants of their conflict and intervention stands above the land and we have identified them as bull snake and bear but they battled at Cabezon Peak.
Enjoy the new series in Torreon, New Mexico from the perspective of a local Medicine Man and his stories that are only meant to be told during the winter.

3:25 they did bring jobs and yeah it was a limited amount of jobs but it did stimulate the small economies of the reservation towns so they don't have to travel far off away from home to find good work or rely on tourism to earn money. If you look at towns like Kayenta now compared to when the mines were operating, poverty has worsen in a already impoverished area, and with that there is more crime, drugs, and suicides. You hurt more people then what you save, the NN is being abandoned and more and more people are moving away for work and to thrive. We can not be a Zoo and be dependent on entertaining people who travel here to observe.

Lol when you mentioned your family member about ditching boarding school. My mom says my uncle (her brother) did that and the person to go look for him was my auntie on my dads side. Which may I say is funny because my dad married my mom. I wonder if they ever rethink about that time. Also idk but there’s a place we call blue canyon near where we live and there’s an old school house there. Right in the middle of no where. I always still wonder why. Also there’s rock formations that they said were elders who got stoned in time. Now that I’m older I wonder if a lot of the ancestors were very tall. Idk. But it’s pretty cool and I don’t have much info just going off of what Ives heard over my younger years

I have seen a man with a face of that cartoon Goofy, huge dark eye, looks human but has the eyebrows shaped and cranium that sorts looks like a dog but flat like a human face, large dog ears, like a hound dog. Hairless body. He was naked brown skin with a leather pouch and it’s a long strap worn like messenger bag. 5”x5”. It was crawling downward a brick wall. It looked straight at me, and cocked its head sideways back & forth. What was odd, its back was extra long, like a dachshund, and shortened arms and legs, which idk how it managed to crawl downward and lift its head up to look at me. I work in a town, night shifts at a group home so I HAVE TO check the residents and I heard a soft knocking, it was windy, 3:30am I thought it was the tiny door bell got knocked off so I popped the door, which is a huge door to wheel hospital beds through those doors. It took me probably 15 secs to figure out what I’m looking at and I responded with “You need to leave before I call the police” the guy looked at me as if questioning why I didnt scream or anything. I’ve seen strange humanoids at least 6x as well as UFOS so not much surprises me. I don’t agree with him saying it doesn’t change its body, how do you get a long back and shortened your legs that looks human but is body shaped like a dachshund. A group of us teenagers seen a panda bear looking thing running like a human and then turn into a bear like and started rolling at high speed to where it was just a blur. There was abt 10-12 teenagers there, sitting on the gravel pit at night listening to music. Another time I saw a man with brown skin, face was painted from the nose up it was black, nose down it was white. He was also wearing at pouch worn like a messenger bag. Another a woman was knocking, she was drunk, 12:30am, she had ground white corn or white clay on her face and hair. Driving through the Rez as a child, a place they call gorilla head, a green ford trk was park there, Navajo jewelry, at first i thought it was Incredible Hulk with long hair, as I looked closer it was a man with a coyote skin head on top of its head, the person had white clay on its face and his chest, lots of jewelry on, and a Levi jacket. I was looking out the window, abt 3 or 4 yrs old. I wasn’t scared until I told an adult and pointed, it was at night it was looking at us and the driver sped up. After that from the grandpa, “ Navajo have a teaching not to ever travel at nights. “The day is for us humans, the night is for animals and other things”

USA culture exist out of thievery, rape , murder of land and people . It’s not going to change. We just move on together in this great nation existing as the best we can. The Indios have had hardship and struggle the longest due to being the first peoples to witness the deterioration of Mother Earth. Their spiritual souls are filled with pain. When they leave this life. It’s a memory of this everlasting killing of beauty that once was but will no longer be. We as people are beginning to realize their journey and so be aware of what is to come.
