If you set playback speed to 0.25, you can really feel that ultra is the most smooth one. Thanks SaneOG for this comparison.
This needs more upvotes. The frame consistency is much better with ultra on judging by this video at lower playback speed

Interesting comparison.
However, only the GTA benchmark is really representative of what LLM/ULLM does. Doom is running on the Vulcan API, so since Nvidia Low Latency only works with DX9-DX11, none of the features are actually applied here. The differences in measured fps are within the margin of error. Also both CSGO and the last Game are not GPU bound most of the time, so LLM/ULLM shouldn't really come into play here either.
None the less it's interesting to see how both modes affect the frame times and FPS, when they are actually active.
*OFF* - FOR DX12 TITLES and single player games
*ON* - FOR COMPETITIVE GAMES
*ULTRA* - IF YOUR GPU IS 95 - 99% All the time it reduces input lag
*NOTE**
LOW LATENCY MODE SETTING ONLY WORKS WITH _DX9 DX11 GAMES_
_DX12 AND VULKAN_ GAMES DONT WORK ON LOW LATENCY MODE

@@TheKillerZmile okey thanks i try bro, this video confused me
ruclips.net/video/7CKnJ5ujL_Q/видео.html
@@melih.ozturk Cause different games got him different results which makes sense given what nVIDIA says about this. Off means the game controls the queued frames so each game can handle this very differently. I tested this with New World which uses my GPU at 99%. Ultra should give me benefits here? But nope. Off give me 11ms latency, Ultra gave me 14ms. Tested COD which uses 10% of my GPU. Off around 8-9ms. On 9-10ms, pretty much the same. Definetely not gonna give you any improvements though.
the best option for me is (on), putting it on (on) gives me a solid frame rate that is high, ultra gives me less frames but could be because of HDD bottleneck, if you play on a SSD it will be best for ultra, otherwise just put it on (on), then it will que only 1 frame, this worked best on low end and mid range pc, and gives the best results over (OFF) and (ultra)
please tell me why i dont have setting ON in low latency nvidia 😭
there is off and ultra

@Ujiruiji I think you have to connect to a monitor to it to see the hidden options.. not sure if it'll apply though when you unplug it
@@CarAudioInc im using an external monitor yet it doesnt show for me either, have you figured out why?
Low latency mode ultra is for peripherals not frame rates. It also doesn't activate unless the GPU is capped, and this test never capped the GPU so you literally tested nothing btw.
When I stream with obs my input lag seems to go up you think this may solve my issue I use a ryzen 9 and gtx 1080
You probably have input lag when streaming due to capturing the entire display. Just use ‘game capture’ which only records/streams your game for no latency.
prolly your internet
you have frametime on screen
Looks like Low Latency Mode: On is the sweet spot to me. Just my opinion from observing Frametime, Min FPS and AVG FPS. Thoughts from anyone else? Good video though, testing Low Latency Mode. Was really curious about this when introduced by Nvidia.
im using i5-4690 with 970 im playing cs go and fortnite should i use on or ultra? or off?
@@Menke736 I would try On first. If it works, stick with On, if not then switch to Ultra. There are so many different combinations of hardware out there so the only way to really find out is experiment for yourself to see what works.
@@mastervorn6380 my cpu usage is high and gpu usage is low while gaming should i put it on to ultra or off for utilising gpu?
bro , you have missed one of the most important details, what monitor are you using and its latency as well?
So simply "on" seems to be superior.
Ultra = Lower Average FPS.
Low latency mode is sometimes lower than "on"
So on = superior as in lower latency than OFF and better FPS than Ultra.
Win / win.
yup
but where you really want latency over performance, go for ultra, in other games, where there's no room for performance loss - go for on
2060, should i use on or ultra in league of legends? cuz im getting fps drops sometimes, im using 144hz
Are you getting stutters or is it still smooth gameplay?
Also are the fps drops massive and often?
If you can I would try to get higher than 144 fps so your perceived latency is as low as possible, the difference between 144 and 244 is between 3-5m/s which all adds to reduced perception of input lag and latency.
Definitely try turning Low Latency On but its not a miracle cure, its best to improve your performance and your internet connection/ping but online gaming for now is always going to have inconsistency and some latency, our brains just adapt to it with practice and improving our own reflexes.
I would not use Ultra though
Linus Tech Tips has a bunch of videos all about this subject of input lag and latency, they are really helpful and interesting
😂😂😂😂
Low latency mode is DX11 only. it doesn't affect Vulkan titles as you tested. better luck next time...

I have an RTX 3060 but my monitor and television where I play are 60 hz, what would be recommended in this situation? game with vertical sync all the time due to screen tearing
vsync is fine if you're playing single player games, but if you want to have faster input times and such in multiplayer games, you should disable vsync and enable low latency mode for that specific game in nvidia control panel.
i have same setup and i use on as default
turn off vsync and cap frames at 60fps. you can do that in same tab where you find low latency mode
Leaving aside the FPS gained or lost, which settings offers the least amount of stutters?
Recently i have seen more and more people discussing how the 'ultra' setting gives the smoothest experience. So, if you're not getting any sort of stutter after enabling ultra then keep it on.
Should i set to ultra or on when i played GTA v and Skyrim?
Use ultra if you have V and G-Sync enabled...?

Off will provide a more smoother experience so i'd recommend having it on in single player games. Whereas, in games like Overwatch and Apex, if you're getting more than enough fps then you can set it to ultra. If you're getting stutters after swtiching to ultra, then move to "on".

off or ultra on 920mx for Valorant ? thanks
You should keep it on for games such as valorant, csgo etc cause it's more lighter and mostly you'll be playing on settings which would allow to attain more than 60 fps at all times. So, ultra is good. But if you experience any stutter while taking gunfights then you set it to "on" .
