- This is what I have been sewing so far this year a Chevron Quilt. I have been enjoying the construction but couldn't wrap my head around the Math. Therefore I am making number 2 since I cut too many pieces.
I made mine a little differently but that is what is great about sewing you can always put your own spin on your project.
This is the video I watched where I learned to make the quilt of which there is an excellent tutorial for you.
Chevron Chic Quilt Laura Sew Very Easy • Chevron Chic Quilt
The quilt I made is a lap size quilt measures before border 44" X 59"
Made in strips using a 7" square cut in half ~ need five strips
Strips are 2.5" X7 ~25 of 4 different colors
2.5" X9" ~ 25 of 4 different colors
This depends on the repeat you use in each strip according to your design.
My strips were of 20 rows each. I made 5 of them which measure 9 1/4 " wide once you cut your strip down.
Hope that helps.
Happy Sewing
Shari

Your quilt is totally beautiful 😍 amazing job 😊
Thanks❤ do you have your quilts finished yet?
@@PracticalStitches one is totally done and the other I just have to bind the edges.
Oh my goodness! That is absolutely gorgeous! I ❤ the color combo! ❤ & hugs!
Thanks Elaine❤ are you working on any projects right now?
That's a beautiful.....love the colors
Thanks Lucy❤
That’s a beautiful quilt top, Shari, I love the colors. The next one will be beautiful, also. I can’t do quilt math easily either. It makes me wonder how ladies figured out a quilt size and number of blocks, back in the day before schools were so prevalent, 1600-1800’s. My grandmother left school in the 8th grade and she made some of the most intricate and beautiful quilts, it’s truly amazing. When I start a quilt I figure out how I want it to look, color and maybe a block or two. Then I just make blocks until I have enough to make it the size that I want. Mostly I just used a pattern that someone else sweated over.
Welcome back to filming, you’re looking good. Sorry I missed your live last Friday, I was out of town. I’ll catch you next time.
Have fun sewing😄
Thanks Sue, that is so true. It is nice to have two small quilts even though that was not the original plan. Look forward to chatting with you on Friday.❤
Shari I am not great at quilt math either. Your quilt top looks pretty.
Well I'm glad I am not the only one❤ thank you😊
