My favourite is the Swartz Bay Sounding or the one in Active Pass at night, near the end of the video! Sadly she’s only sounding two tones at the moment…
@@heregoesmike It is a short sounding, but it's also almost perfectly in tune, some of the other soundings aren't as smooth as it, if you listen carefully you'll understand what I'm saying as she doesn't always sound perfectly. The best sounding has to be 4:48 in my opinion! But 0:41 is amazing too, on the vessel always has a certain element to it that on land can't capture...
Awesome compilation! I see the Queen of New West is still slipping every so often but perfectly in tune otherwise! So great to hear her sounding proper again.
Do you think during the refit period, they will repair the whistle so it always sounds three tones? I noticed that the bass note sounded like it wasn't being pulled all the way...
@@ferriesbc I mean, we can certainly hope! I see what you mean though. I also noticed the button sounding only sounds the two higher tones as well, they should fix that as well... (not that it matters to me, pullcord all the way 😎)
Nice! The Queen of New Westminster has a new F major sounding horn! Not as good as Queen of Nanaimo’s E major horn but still better than the Coastal class horns.
I’d listen to it with a Piano nearby, the newest sounds closer to a proper e major than the Nanaimo did the Nanaimo was a little flat. now, BC ferries have put a new whistle on the new west and it sounds an E diminished so unfortunately she does not sound like this video anymore. Watch this video of the Vancouver, this is a proper E major ruclips.net/video/ZJcEwz_O0Zk/видео.htmlsi=hRnS0CZbdI5jRPjK
Sounds like this video of the Vancouver (m.ruclips.net/video/ZJcEwz_O0Zk/видео.html)! She sounds like how all the Tri - Chime V Classes sounded (excluding the Victoria, she sounded a E Minor)!
Pull cord sounding at 0:41 is smoooooooooooth 🤤

@@ferriesbc yeah, 1:16 is the SWB sounding? Too bad it’s such a short blast 😮💨

Yeah, the bass note doesn’t always sound, but once that’s (hopefully) fixed, she’ll sound great always.
if you pull the cord a bit too hard the bass note cuts out you have to get it right in the sweet spot haha
@@TheCobalt5 ohh I see, very interesting. I have kind of noticed that, she sounds best at a nice happy medium.

@@ferriesbc yes!! It’s been a very long time since her whistle sounded this good and it’s nice that it is in her sunset years
Also at 4:50 she sounds like the old nanaimo
@@TheCobalt5 Have you heard her whistle sound all three recently?
@@ferriesbc no not recently unfortunately, still only 2 tones
