Honestly too, a cookbook that doesn't shy from pre-made stuff you can buy from the store is fine though. I kinda wish more of them did it. Cause yes, the bread for this extravagant Sandwich You're making will be so much better if you spend 4 hours to make it yourself... But if you have 3 kids who need to eat in 20 minutes, you were running errands all afternoon and 20 minutes is how long the filling takes, I'm using store bought bread...
Kinda a wonky example, but the point is that I'm usually on a time crunch when I make my food, or I don't have the equipment to handmade ice cream or something like that, so picking some up from the store is so much easier and convenient for me than worrying about stuff that'll take too long or that I don't have.

I got the Wakanda Cookbook for Christmas and i already tried the Road Runner Wings, tomorrow im gonna cook the Oxtail with Cassava dumplings.
Im totally in love with the Recipes in the Cookbook, I also just can't get enough of the breakfast Recipes-
    They're just so amazing!
One Question, will you revisit the Necronomnomnom? Some of the recipes are pretty unique, like the gumbo and jambalaya. Both of those recipes are worth the effort imo!

Please, please tell me you know about The Geeky Chef cookbook- food from movies, shows, books and video games and the photos always look so good and on theme. Also the author always adds in little nods and jokes to to fans but it's still super enjoyable for someone like me that has probably only played like 3 different video games in my life. They are my absolute favourite books ever!

From 2023 my fav cook book you have done was Minecraft or black panther
Since you didn’t do a 2022 one I will say my favs from that year are the Pokémon, Ninja Turtles and Avatar( I now have all 3) and the Jurassic Park one! (Also one piece because of my beloved Sanji in fact I made the cherry pie from the book! I say 8/10!)
Keep up the amazing job and I can’t wait to see what other gems we find! In 2024! ❤

been going deeper into the Elder scrolls cookbook this year made the handpies, snowberry crostata, snowberry sauce, mushroom sauce and spiced wine all went over very well at family get togethers. Would be interested in maybe seeing a head to head video of it VS. the dragon age or DnD cookbook. also was gifted the unofficial LoTR cook book and it looks to have some interesting stuff in it. Also looks like there is a new Game of Thrones cookbook coming out this year from the author of the Elder scrolls cookbook and the original Game of Thrones cookbook.

This was a very nice and pleasant way to preset the end-of-the-year video, thank you ^^ It is mainly your thoughts as you said, which makes total sense because it is about how you experienced this year in review-cooking, so it is fun to see your own honest thoughts on them after having gone through so many to compare with. Also, it marked the year I think you were sent cookbooks by their publishers, too? That is pretty cool!
None of the books this year were really for fandoms that interest me enough to buy them, but I did buy the Pokemon cookbook this year thanks to your review, which has been fun. I also tried the Final Fantasy XIV duck Starlight dodo because of you, which I am thankfull for! I have been thinking about buying the Minecraft book if only for the mooshroom burger, if I get across it next time I go shopping at a bookstore. And it was fun to be exposed to these books and just see what cookbooks exist, and how different their presentations have been. Also, apparently the fandom cookbook craze has reached Norway, I found two cookbooks that were released alongside their movies to promote their release. That was a fun surprise.
Regarding baking, maybe it has to do with ingredients as well, if you are in Canada and the books are based in the USA? I know that when I try baking recipes from the Victoria Rosenthal-books, I must be prepared for a couple of tries and adjustments because everything is just different enougn (for example that I have no idea what bread-flour and all-purpose-flour is, here it is all flour, and that American baking powder is stronger so I must do half-half Norwegian baking powder alongside natron). Even in the neighborhood country, my friend said when she went to Sweden and tried to bake a Norwegian bread recipe with Swedish ingredients, it did not work, because they are different (also clearly because Swedish products are INFERIOR IN EVERY WAY-). So perhaps that is something that could explain at least some of the times it has been difficult?
Hope your first week in the new years is well so far!

Fantastic! I appreciate all the time you put into each cookbook video so it was lovely to hear your thoughts on the year overall.
And with baking...it's tough, man. I have been cooking and baking since 35+ years, and I have three culinary degrees (one is specifically baking and pastries), yet I still have difficulty with it. Hell, the only reason I passed Wedding Cakes is because I spent a week making an epic Doctor Who themed monstrosity which was 1/3 of my grade. My instructor was generous af and gave me A. Ended up passing the class with a B.

But both I needed more. Out of the two I think the Spicey Sausage Chickpea stew was better. There are a lot more recipes out of it that I want to try.
