    For those who don’t understand the “Burnt-edge transit” joke: When the Destiny 2: Forsaken expansion first launched, there was a bug that caused a grenade launcher called the “edge transit” to drop way more frequently than it should have. Because of this, in the following dawning event, “burnt-edge transits” were added as essentially a worthless joke item

      @@lichtschutzfaktor781 not the saltiness per se, all salt it's equally salty, you see, when youtubers usually tell you to use kosher salt its not because it tastes better or its less or more salty than others, its the grain size that varies, a teaspoon of table salt is much more salty than a teaspoon of kosher because it's literally more salt per weight, its finer, which makes us perceive it as saltier, contrast with kosher salt or even flaky salt, where there's less room for that same amount of salt in that same teaspoon, this is specially important in restaurants where they have to be very precise about their measurements, standardization its crucial for them to have a good product every time they cook something

    The reason why i love theese cookbooks is mostly the drinks, they remind a lot of when caffes would do collaborations with videogame and make character based drinks and recepies. Beside there's a lot less chance of them not tasting as good, the worst case scenario so far was one drink in particular wich ended up being and acual real official cocktail and it still tasted good.

    • @MisoHungrie
      @MisoHungrie  2 года назад +1

      Yeah the drinks in this cookbook look really solid. I haven't tried any yet but I'm definitely going to try to make some eventually

    Big fan of your videos! You really are a hidden gem. I agree that revisiting some books (because there's just so many recipes) is a great idea (and cheaper than buying infinite books). I would also absolutely loooove to see you do the Avatar the last Airbender cooking book. A meal from each of the 4 nations! ♥️

    Got this book for Christmas from my fireteam aka my sister and her boyfriend. I made the Tincture of Queensfoil blackberry tea. I steeped the tea too long and needed to dilute it a bit but it was pretty good. If I had to make an adjustment, I would have cut the sugar by half.

    I've been making a few recipes from that book for a while now and I completely agree with your verdict, many recipes are great but call for too much salt or spices and need an adjustment.
    If you're ever to make more from the book I would recommend the Le Monarchs, those are so good! Though for my tastes I'm using about half the amount of Dijon, maybe slightly more than half

    So fun fact, the original had a very bland Ghost dish that the writers said people were too busy to make instead of taking responsibility for bad instructions. It was then replaced by a reliable but samey dish everyone has tried but no one can pinpoint 🤔
