A pal of mine asked me to go through the game with Marcoh in Maso Mode.
This will work as some kind of a guide on many ways you can tackle Maso Mode with Marcoh as your MC.

Fear & Hunger is a rogue-like horror JRPG that uses the classic turn-based strategic dismemberment combat system. It has countless secrets, randomized events to give players a new experience each time, included with original soundtracks inspired by the works of Akira Yamaoka.
Fear & Hunger has hours of unforgettable gameplay with diverse character classes and many more different characters to meet and play with. Your fate will be destined with the following action. . . Head, or Tails? Call it and don't forget it was your choice to begin with.
While the gameplay mechanics and art, as well as the previously mentioned songs inspire people to try out the game day and night, what keeps making people come back to the series is the insane amount of replayability, either due to a different starting character or a different build that will increase your strength early game while having a few difficult spikes near the late game obstacles.
It is no surprise that knowledge is what carries a player forward throughout the playthrough, Thus, the more knowledge one has over the many enemies they'll be facing the easier it is going to be to see such things as but easy challenges to the point of not even saving throughout an entire run.
The amount of knowledge that both games (Fear and hunger - Fear and hunger 2 : Termina) provide to the player will get stuck to the player's brain, resulting in not being able to go back to a state where they didn't know how to tackle situations. This is both beneficial and a weakness from the game as once you properly know how to tackle, for example: a Prison Guard then you will not have the benefit of figuring out their puzzle fight.
Every single monster is a puzzle and it's up to the player to blindly figure it out to the answer.
Prison Guard Battle:
The question will still remain in the players. . . Which limb to remove first?
Is it the arm? (Is the Prison Guard going to be grabbing me in the first turn?)
Is it the arm with the knife? (Is it going to cut my arm or is he going to do it in the 2nd turn?)
Is the stinger the actual threat? (Maybe it's not there for decoration and it has a purpose to it?)
Once you figure out how to properly defeat such enemies, you will be able to push yourself forward more and more, to even learning how to evade them without having to get into a fight with a single enemy in your playthrough.

@@chandlervoss So a funny thing that happens when a player of F&H plays... Is that once they learn how to hold W when looting sometimes they get 2 items instead of 1.
When this happens they get surprised by their own loot later when they open the inventory lol.
So yeah, holding W means that at some point the game will have a hard time notifying you that you got two items instead of one haha

Slooowly making my way through maso mode and really tempted to install your infinite saves mode,.even though it would defeat the point 😂! I've been stuck in the entrance to prehevil for weeks (admittedly not playing everyday) because of those darn bobbies (but I have managed to kill Abella!)
Today I finally got the first effigy (the apartment's )and used a book of enlightenment because I didn't want to die to the enemies right outside (they killed me a few times, after). Got finally to the school, hadn't wanted to save at prehevil bop to use that save later, looted everything, killed weeping scope, killed the priest, got black smog and one more agility point (making my total 18) and then the gd gull brothers destroyed me because I got stuck to the hexen trying to flee. I'm gonna try again some other day. Man, this game really gets you when it kills you! 😂

Did you install the save mod?
I would recommend playing anywhere you want and can and not feel like you need to play how people want you to.
So do what you must when it comes to playing this game as long as you have fun~!

how do you make your game dark?
Its the difficulty its called Maso Mode. You choose it after choosing the character
