    After watching Atlantis the lost empire one too many times, all I can hear is Vinny (even better? Pretty much every single line in that film for that character was improvised!).

    Revisiting all things Fr. Sarducci, I love the humor and lack of vulgarity. We went to the same university and that makes me smile. Oh, yeah, and I want his $250 Bishop Kit.

    SNL in its golden age really was hysterical! They nailed everybody, any public figure...I guess the agenda was just to be a great comedy show!

    Father Guido Sarducci is one of the greatest characters to come out of our hippie generation shows n movies ever!!!! I am Catholic, n I REALLY identify with his character as a priest, n he is so totally cool for a member of the clergy!!! His insights n comments are profoundly hilarious, n I am 66 yrs old and know of him from SNL, but will always crack up watching him!!!! Attaboy, Don Novella!!!!

      My favourite (and the funniest, in my opinion) thing he's ever done is the in-between songs sections of the Hip Hop Masterpiece "So.... How's Your Girl?" by Handsome Boy Modelling School!!!
      The comedy stuff in that album ALWAYS has me laughing, no matter how many times I've heard it before. If you've never listened to that album, do yourself a favour! The album itself is a modern masterpiece of Hip Hop music....., so the genuinely funny skits in between songs are just a bonus!

    I liked it when Father G. would talk about the weather,and go on to some many things like UFOs ,and finally finish off with the weather.He had such a dry sense of humor,all the while keeping a straight face.I liked the old SNL when it was funny ,not obscene.

      Brilliant... also there really SHOULD be a historical dramedy film about the creation of and early days of SNL... Don was prolly an original staff writer, and w/ Belushi, Chevy, Bill Murray, Gilda, Garrett & the gals, the rest of the production team, the Canada Connection ...it WRITES ITSELF! But good luck finding actors talented and gutsy enuf to play the orig NRFPT Players!

    Absolutely loved Jay as the father. Unfortunately this is an artifact from an error in which people could actually simply be funny. New York and other large cities were full of people who actually spoke this way.
    This would not be acceptable today with PC hypersensitivities governing everything. How utterly sad.
