We should NOT judge our brothers, you do what you want as long as you respect the local and the laws.
♨️ I absolutely love the way I feel in Thailand 🇹🇭 I went in 2017 with $800 was shocked by how well I was treated I knew I'd retire there one day! Thank you for this video it's 100% true.
Was there like a language barrier?
Amazing! Glad you had a good experience there. It's really quite nice haha
Love your stuff man, keep it up
Appreciate it! Thank you!
I definitely want to see more content like this! Nice video Josh! Thanks
Haha thanks! I will do one on Japan too ^^
Josh!! I'm glad your back. I like your digital nomad vids.
Thanks so much, I'll try to post some more :D
Hey Josh, can you make more videos like this? Really enjoy them x)
Fo sho! ^^
Fire thumbnail Josh
Thank you
The personal stories made this much funnier than I was expecting.
Lol I'm glad you think so, thank you :D
Josh is a passport bro!
I should really make a video about this. I'm kind of the original passport bro on accident, but I'm not looking for a partner. I just generally try to avoid the US for other reasons if I can
Great breakdown of BKK, apps, & the “special” establishment with “special” staff lol. Living in the 206, I could use a change of scenery.
Thanks! And 206 is my hometown :), Thailand is the first place I went after I could travel (post pandemic). Really nice
i love your content bro. im doing my best to find a company in the US i can work or contract for while living in the dominican republic. im from there and due to rent and health insurance in NY im living paycheck to paycheck 😂😂😂😂
Josh will say he's not a weirdo or creep but then accidentally pronounce it as "Thigh-land" in the next sentence. xD 🤣
Nah but fr thanks for all the vids and test prep resources at your site! I just passed my A+ core 1 exam after going through all the questions you had up there, great work!!
I love thailand. Would be a dream to have a tech job that sends me there. Like you I also live in japan.
Can you make some on Japan as well
Haha yeah I can, it's not as impressive, but I like Japan for different reasons
Japan is not cheap lol 😂
Now i cant wait to go thailand, i need some crazy stories in my life
Yeah seriously, I recommend it, just be careful and be since to people lol
With 50k /year from 100% P&T from the VA, once I get a remote position one day that income is gonna combine to a nice life in a place like Thailand or Latin America
Great video Josh
Josh out there trickin😂💰
Lol omg I'm not. I'm the most ethical Thailand tourist
@@JoshMadakor stop the cap!
Thanks Josh!
Daaaaang thank you for this, wow
Very nice! I love my time there and im just finished your soc course.
Ayyy, hope you enjoyed it!
@@JoshMadakor I did, I'm glad I took it and I'm studying for more FEMA cert and my security plus certification as well
nice dome! what head shaver are you using! and thanks for everything!
Thank you, haha. I'm using some random wireless one I got in Thailand. I fried my old one there by plugging it into the wall @220v. I also have (a high quality) scalp micro pigmentation which is what you're seeing in the video.
Edit: Check out my review in here if you want, the link is kinda crazy though, sorry: www.google.com/search?q=mm+smp+seattle&oq=mm+smp+seattle&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDggAEEUYJxg7GIAEGIoFMg4IABBFGCcYOxiABBiKBTIICAEQABgWGB4yCAgCEAAYFhgeMgYIAxBFGD0yBggEEEUYPDIGCAUQRRg80gEIMjIzNmowajeoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#lrd=0x549041a866de5de1:0x2f202ea10e21ce6,1,,,,
I am from Africa and have been to far East Asia and my favourite country was Singapore, although it's more expensive than Malaysia and Thailand. How did you get a remote cyber security job from abroad? I am struggling...:-(
Ah, i had the job before I went, then I just kept it! I ended up quitting though
Nah they do everything, including scams 😂 I think they are called “touts” or at least the guys are. Anyone who is reading this, stay away from anyone offering you to go somewhere shady, its not safe and is likely a scam. They even have announcements on the speakers in Japan telling people to stay away, they should include those announcements in english too. Have fun and be safe!
Have you been to KL, Malaysia? Def on my bucket list.
Nope, but it's on my list. Same with Singapore!
I’ve been working on planning a trip for a few weeks now
With all the endless people who wish they could work remotely to allow them to live in Thailand; This video was a Great Marketing Idea...
It is really nice to be able to have autonomy over your time and place. I think having autonomy would solve a large chunk of mental health issues, especially related to work. it did for me anyways
@@JoshMadakor Tell me about it! I have anxiety issues and I have lots of traffic going to work which increases my blood pressure which I now have a prescription for. Hopefully I can get to work remotely, move overseas and live in a condo with a gym in the building so I can workout and get off these meds. Also just improve my quality of life which honestly went down the drain during the 09’ recession.
This is a dream of mine. To travel the world while working remotely.
It does wonders for mental health, seriously. It's a really good goal to work toward
I think it’s possible but what remote job will allow for that? Other than freelancing , is it worth doing remote and going abroad to get possibly fired or worst blacklisted. Companies usually say it’s okay to remote (within the USA).
At least in cybersecurity, I see people trying this and I end up having to send them up to HR for breaking AUP & going undocumented.
> blacklisted
I don't think that's a thing (other than having a felony)
You can do it of course, but it depends on your company. I was a 100% remote contractor for microsoft (mostly coding) and I didn't care and just went there without saying anything and they didn't know/care/say anything. Of course they can find out if they really want to, but again, I didn't care. And if I cared, I would have executed all of my work from a local VM or I would use a VPN or something. It really depends on the company.
But in terms of "tiers" of what is best in terms of jobs if you want to live abroad, I would say:
a) Entrepreneurship
b) freelancing
c) contracting
d) working as FTE
@@JoshMadakor I understand you have , to a degree , leverage with other things and it's a contract job but for the laymen person - is it really a typical risk they should go for? Basically I mean this would have to fit a certain demographic to be viable for most the population. What aspects of their finance, how much they can save up if they want to safely return to the US and getting a job again, etc I think would be more informatative because a lot of people do get stuck when trying the digital nomad lifestyle without knowing the numbers , if they get laid off , can they realistically stay out there for numbers of yesrs or what would that look like returning back cost. Perhaps it could be a cool indepth topic to go over one day..
Otherwise yeah I agree with your tier list and so forth, thing is remote jobs are low and detections are getting better and CEOs are getting more micro managing. I guess I wouldn't recommend it for 90% the population if they don't have their finances together and essentially debt free.
nice points! I'm actually going to make a video response to this because it's a really good questions. Basically you just need to manage/mitigate risk through a lot of different means (having a decent chunk of change, having a lot of skill and a good resume, etc.) But yeah, I'll make a video ^^
@@JoshMadakor look forward to it, glad I could raise some decent points
Now do a video on Japan 🌚
Haha ok I will, I will do a day in the life/guide. I'll try to make it interesting ^^
@@JoshMadakorkeep up the good work! 👍🏽😊
Do cybersecurity jobs care if you're working outside the country? Or how would I go about hiding it?
I'll make a video about this. And it just depends on the job and what you're doing :)
How do you find jobs that are okay with people working remotely outside of the US?
I'll make a video about this! It's already in the pipeline ^^
I am an American that lives in Thailand. How do I go about getting a remote job from here please?
I'll make a video about this, but sometimes it's easier to get the job back home, then move out here. However, the "better you are" the easier it will be to find a job and make them be flexible for you. I'll cover this in a future video :)
Why Thailand Specifically? What drew you to to the country specifically as opposed to any other country like Dubai or whatever?
COL.
It is really cheap to live there. You can rent an apartment for a few hundred a month.
Becoz of the chicks
Dubai sucks and it’s like America. Overpriced and soulless. Then Muslim country with crazy rules. Thailand rocks
The woman, price purchasing parity, and landscapes.
I was just wondering how good it would be if you made a vid like this. Lol
Good haha, I'll try to make one on Japan too
@@JoshMadakor Pshhhhhh you know what the people want
yes, I love Thailand too.
you are too nice Josh lol
Hahaha thank you for saying that 😆
👍
I would just get a Thai gf to date and she can do the cooking n cleaning with healthy ingredients that I prefer instead if 2-3k at hotel
lol that's definitely one option, but I'm sort of a loner haha
@@JoshMadakor same but you'll be surprised if you get one with a horoscope of Pisces, or the other introvert ones. They are usually quiet as well so I can enjoy my peaceful silent moments. I dated 3 Thai here in NYC and they happened to be quiet. Same with filipinas
You're so innocent lol
Lmao, maybe compared to some people for sure. People are wilding there haha
"Bring me Tong Po!"_ Josh(probably)
Lol had to look that up
@@JoshMadakor lol, classic movie!
We know why you can’t stay away 😂
Great video! I've been thinking about going to Thailand, so the tips you provided were really helpful. Wow, you've had quite the experience, judging from your stories! Lol
Just came to comment that I am trying to break into the cyber industry and your videos have helped my confidence tremendously. Thank you truly + can you adopt me LMAO
Hey Josh, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos better than your Editor with good pricing and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?
I appreciate you saying that! But I have 4 editors right now, and this video was one of my editor's first videos and I think it's actually pretty good.
Josh, this turned out to be such a fun episode.
This just convinced me to enroll in CC IT.
More of these kinds of episodes, please. XD
Haha thanks for enrolling! And I will, I will do one of these on Japan next haha :)
We need an advanced Cyber course now bro. If you made one, how would you go about doing it?
I'm probably going to make a Skool community soon and just include a lot of modules and exercises and other stuff. Still thinking though!
Tbh the main problem for me is that in the U.S especially here in Texas, I really like the diversity of people that are here. Asian, Mexican, Arab, white, Irish, Cuban, Indians, Pakistani(I am one myself), etc. moving to other countries just don’t have that along with everyone speaking really well English who are also up to date with the Texan culture/drama/ news.
Throw in drinkable water and promise not to turn off my power during the day and 180k in thailand could be a good deal!😂
Lol oh right, I'm always ordering sparkling water, haha
Heard Vietnam money goes even further.
I heard that too! I was supposed to go this year but I couldn't :(
I know why you keep going to Thailand🤫🤣
With 50k you can live comfortably in Italy too, that's 250% of what I make, and I have an unemployed wife
Oh wow, that's cool. I would like to check Italy out one day :). I heard it's really really nice and the food is so good too
Good stuff. I watch some travel vloggers. One specifically mostly stays in the Philippines but always visits Thailand (Living Abroad is the channel). Thailand would definitely be a nice place to visit and is a 1st world country from what I can tell.
Great courses, by the way. I was one of the earliest who finished the Cyber course last year, and it definitely taught me a lot 👍
I believe the manager term you were looking for was "mamasan" and it sounds like that place was a form of "juicy" bar with "drinky" girls. Lol my first duty station in the Army was Korea - 3 years thank goodness for being young and single at the time
Lol oh yes mamasan. Sounds like a decent time :)
So where you at Area 1 or Area 2?
I was at Camp Casey, Area 1. Korea cleaned up their image. No more boom boom.
@@jayclarke777 lol area 1 at Camp Stanley to begin with for about a year and a half. Then at K-16. Got that sweet $400 a month extra bonus for staying 2 extra years. 2003-2007.
@@comedicpuppyIt was AIP (Avoid Iraq Program). I was there in 04' then again ETS'd in 2011.
Yeah man things changed a lot in Korea. They richer now. They got scared when Trump wanted to pull troops.
Salute
There's a nice car scene there
Had no idea, haha
My wife almost got a teaching job in Bangkok last week, but we had to reject it because I didn't have a job myself. Too expensive with 3 kids. Any advice on remote work job sites by any chance Josh? Really like to your advice on this!
Love the content, man. Almost done the SOC course 👌
Glad to hear it! Thank you!
Maaan that’s a good life. Inspiration for sure. Soon I’ll be traveling with my wife with our remote job 💯keep up the videos Josh
Thanks for sharing your stories! Sorry those ladies took advantage of you though... I hope you'll share more of your adventures there. Have you been to Bali too?
insane title 😭
Is it bad? lol
You are a really cool dude. Thank you, Josh.
Thank you for saying that
Hey Josh, I just got my CySA and I’m starting the BSCSIA in July aiming to finish at the end of this year. Should I look to take the internship to pad my resume now or after I finish?
Either one! I tend to like doing one thing at a time, so if it's me, I would wait to finish and just really focus on the current task. But you'll be good either way :)
You are such a good dude, with a good heart. Great to hear that you are getting out and enjoying life.
You only live once.
And you are only young briefly.
Thank you so much
hahaha this was a fun video!! Josh made it rain in Thailand. LOL
Lol Thanks, we have a big work trip team building event coming up in June. (MOST everyone will be there). We'll definitely take some footage and create a video, haha
dude you are so funny
Lol thanks, somehow I find this hard to believe
The audio was off in this video just letting you know. love all you do Josh. Im still lost in my journey in cybersecurity but I hope to either finish wgu or take your class
What happened to the audio? I mean how did it sounds for you?
@@JoshMadakor I don't know if its me (Listening on wired headphones) but when you speak and the audio is not sync. Just of by a second.
ok but are you training muay thai. that's the real question
I'm not, but I wish I was. Can I still do that at 40? lmao
@@JoshMadakor of course! It's a great workout and with Thailand weather, you will burn calories.
Doesn't hurt to try one or two times. But it could be addicting if you get hooked 😂
I’d rather live in a van down by the river in the US than live in shit hole Thailand. There’s a reason Thailand has a low cost of living. RUclipsrs try to make anything look glamorous. 😂
I actually used to live in my car, legit, for 6 months. I really enjoyed it and I often slept by the ocean, so I get your perspective. Literally every country has shitty spots in them, especially the US.
I was extremely realistic in this video and I even mentioned "of course there are bad spots in Thailand. I don't go there, just like I don't go to the bad spots in the US."
The thing that's hilarious, is you can experience the same QoL in Thailand that you can in the US for 1/3 of the cost. NOT TO MENTION you can get actual quality healthcare here. Thoughts on this comment?
@@JoshMadakor You can’t experience the same quality of life in Thailand, but you know that. The amount of RUclipsrs that make Thailand out to be a Utopia is crazy. It’s cheap for many reasons, not the least of which is the amount of rights you give up to live there compared to the US.
USA is a third world country wearing a Gucci belt.
Seems to me you're bitter and jealous, for those that can live outside of the US.
"Me and my friend". LOL. You are clearly "zesty".
Yooo where this come from?!?😅
Lol what does it mean?
lmao
He's looking for attention.
