- This year I hiked the entire Colorado Trail for my second time - something I wasn't even planning on. I did it in probably the most roundabout way possible. After getting off the CDT (New Mexico fire closures) I started from Durango on June 5th and hiked to Tincup Pass Road (north of Monarch Pass) where I came down with some kind of nasty stomach bug. I hitched out and took 4 zeros to recover. Finding myself in Breckenridge I then hiked to Denver, caught a bus back to Breckenridge, and then hiked south back to Tincup Pass Road to pick up the section I missed - finishing on July 6th. Yeah. lake ann pass was pretty sketchy in july 2022 when i went over. it was maybe the only pucker moment on my thru hike. i hope to go hike the colorado trail again this summer.
