  • Hey Ya'll, welcome to our little hobby farm. I'm thrilled you're here! I hope you'll find a comfy chair, a cup of something hot and wonderful, and spend sometime with us.
You'll typically find me in one of two places, the garden or the kitchen. Teaching and sharing this amazing world of growing your food, cooking from scratch, utilizing your harvest, and homesteading with our family, is a passion. We hope to encourage people to grow their own food, feel confident in homesteading, and live a life both messy and beautiful, because this life comes with a bit of dirt and a lot of love.
Every week you'll find us enjoying the wildness of raising a large family in the country. Welcome to the garden, to the kitchen, and to our small farm in South Carolina.
Faith is like a seed; plant it in your heart. God gives the harvest at the appointed time. (Mark 4:26-27,28-29)

Hi Natasha 👋 a wonderful garden tour as always. I use a Sharpie brand marker and white garden tags that have a shiny and a flat side . The flat side is made so the marker won't rub off . Thanks for the chocolate tomato mention..... I guess it's all on me if you all don't like then 😉 my strawberries should be ready for the first picking in the next week or so. It's hard to believe two years in the process and 25 plants would yield what I'm seeing . Will send you a picture.. Thanks for sharing and being my favorite gardening channel. God bless and happy gardening.

I will have to try the sharpie method. I even bought special UV pens this year but we get one or two good rains and all the labels disappear. The kids and I are trying our first chocolate tomato this afternoon so I'll let you know how it goes, but they look wonderful! It is amazing how strawberries reproduce like that. Looking forward to seeing them!

Use pencil on your labels. It doesn't fade or come off.

Thank you, and you're completely right! We had a couple finish ripening on the plant it, and it was like a light bulb went on! They are definitely hot wax peppers!

You are so adorable. I love your dress❤️ my Roma’s and Wyche’s are on fire!! I have 25 combined. It’s all I grow in Southern Oregon because for some reasons the pests leave them completely alone. They prefer my squash lol. I am ahead of these little monsters this year with neem. Not waiting until they move in.

Thank you! I'm in the middle of sorting our ripe tomatoes as I type this, and just realized I have never grown Wyche's before! Hearing that the pest leave them alone puts them on my short list of tomatoes to try next year, thank you!!

@@ShepherdingPeppersFarm in my experience they leave them alone. They are also the best tomato we’ve ever had. They get massive, and they are so beautiful canned sitting on the pantry shelf. I have everyone in my family growing them now. I was harvesting them until first frost last year too. Just massive amounts we had. So exciting. My husband is convinced they make the whole BLT!!

My romas are doing amazing this year too! Great idea on saving those seeds, thanks for sharing that tip.
Also - I’m growing the Cucuzzi gourd for the first time this year and would love to hear more on how you use it! It’s a beautiful and fascinating plant

We will definitely be doing a video in the next few weeks on some of the different ways we use our squash, including the cucuzzi! It's one of my favorite for making squash flour and mock 'zucchini' chips though!
