I love seeing what you make with these big harvests . So much work goes into gardening, harvesting, and then preserving that most people didn't even think about . Great job Natasha i can't wait until the next stage of the pickle and pepper preserving process..... say that five times fast lol. God bless and happy harvesting everyone.
That is so very true, it isn't just reaping the harvest but dealing with a way to preserve it (that you'll actually enjoy using!). I think that is a new tongue twister for the books! God bless you, Darren! 💚
My kids are crazy over my meatloaf. Their dad is just crazy over my cooking. Now that him and I are not together, he over exaggeratings my cooking 😂 when he is here (different state) you can tell the person he is with now can’t cook worth a hoot. I’m happy I found someone else that makes a killer meatloaf. My brother’s favorite is my chicken noodle and he doesn’t like chicken. My exs favorite is my pot pie so I refuse to make it to make him suffer 😅
Your videos are soooo helpful! I love how you use each vegetable in different ways. And of course your techniques. You are an old soul 🩷 in a beautiful young package 😉
You dont need to flash freeze the peppers after cutting . I just put them in freezer bag directly, and when i need to use some of them i gently hit them on the counter top they will immediately break apart
@@shannonklump1643 3 cups chopped hot chili peppers - You can use a mix of peppers if you’d like anywhere from mild bells to superhots like Morugas or Scorpions, though I like to keep the thickness of the peppers about the same so the overall consistency is even. Lean toward hotter peppers. For this, I used some sweet Italian peppers but included a couple ghost peppers. 3/4 cup white wine vinegar 1/2 cup sugar 2 cloves garlic chopped 1/2 small onion chopped 2 teaspoons yellow mustard seed Salt to taste i used pepperonchinis
I just LOVE watching your videos. So very informative. I have a question...when you harvest the green peppers first, do you harvest every bit of those green peppers, even the small baby ones?
I'm so glad to hear it!! I will occasionally, depending on my mood. I don't like to harvest them to small to be able to use for the most part, so big enough that they have some purpose in the kitchen 💚
We just bought a cheap on from Walmart, so I don't actually know what brand it is but I wouldn't recommend it. It will do in a pinch but I'm actively looking for a replacement lol
Good morning! Curious if you’ve ever made smoked paprika? Trying to out how to do this. That is becoming my favorite spice to use. Amazing in egg salad❤.
We haven't made it ourselves yet, the process is fairly simple though! I have my eye on an electric smoker and am hoping it goes on sale on prime day 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Another great video! I was wondering how you can get enough peppers to make hot sauce when they don't all ripen at once, thank you. Is there a way to keep jalapenos fresh longer for candied jalapenos when I don't have enough?
Thank you! I will store them in an airtight container in the fridge if I am trying to store them for a few weeks. I hope that helps! I typically have the opposite problem, where I am going, "do I really need this many jars of cowboy candy?!" 🫶🏻
Its very rarely been an issue! I do try to block plant (several of the same variety in one area) and save seeds from the middle plant but everytime we have gotten a cross pollination its been a fantastic hybrid that I wish I had more off 😂
can grow not hot varieties, its what i do , i LOVE jalepenos flavor but not the heat. so i grow Nadapenos, they also have Habanadas and some other ones too
I've found ways to increase the heat but have not yet found a way to decrease it 😂 In truth, we made Jalapeno popper grilled cheese sandwiches and they barely had any heat last night (the cheese and other dairy reduced the heat level, as well as cooking!). And we used HOT jalapeños. But just fresh? I have not found a way to decrease the heat yet!
Paprika is made with red bell peppers and it's really just used to carry a smokey flavor and red color. Thats what sets it apart from being chile powder. Hints Mexicos powders being called guajillo, ancho, Chipotle, casabel, etc. Every chile can't make paprika.
Sure, you wouldn't want to use traditional chiles in making paprika. But for general purposes using any variety of sweet red pepper will make a basic paprika. Guajillos, anchos, chipotle peppers, etc are all peppers with heat. It may be mild (in the case of ancho) but they still have heat. Your general paprika however (unless specifically listed as a spicy paprika) can be made from almost any non-spicy sweet red peppers. A txorixero pepper for example is very commonly used to make sweet paprika, and you can buy seeds from baker creek if you'd like to make it yourself. 😉
@ShepherdingPeppersFarm oh I know what peppers are which lol thats why i broke that down. I have ten acres, like 2.5 acres of just peppers. We ranch. I'm saying taking any red pepper as you said and dehydrating and grinding it down, doesn't make paprika. It makes different chile powders. And thanks for the seed tips, we save seeds generationally, dry chiles by smoking and ristra.
You are amazing how much you do!!
Thank you so much!😊
Whichever of your children was singing their heart out has a lovely voice.
I cannot wait til I have bigger harvests. I love watching you work
We have two that sing daily like they are in a musical, it's absolutely wonderful! They are quite expressive! 💚

Great pepper haul. Thanks for sharing ❤
Omgggg😳 look at them all! Peppers are my favorite got 600 plants growing lol
600 is impressive! Do you sell them? Peppers are my favorite too! I eat them like apples 😂
Wow that is awesome ❤
Thank you! 🫶🏻
I’m growing the same melons this year and looking forward too it
I look forward to hearing how you like them! We have a melon rating system in our house because we grow so many. 😂
I really enjoyed your info and style of video!
I'm so glad! 🫶🏻🙌
I love you spirit ❤
Thank you!! 💚
Wow, this is so amazing🙏

Love your apron!!!
Thank you! I need to get a second, I used to have a blue but a wire fencing incident shredded it 😂
😂 my kids act just like your kids. Always squalling.
Right? Its just a part of mom life 😂
Yes! And like you said they have a radar 😂
You dont need to flash freeze the peppers after cutting . I just put them in freezer bag directly, and when i need to use some of them i gently hit them on the counter top they will immediately break apart
It makes it easier for me to section them into smaller bags with specific cup measurements.
30 mins of pepper?? Yes please 😊😊
🙌 🫶🏻
i run a charcuterie business ive made pineapple cowboy candy peach jalepeno chutney. made chicago pickle relish
That sounds amazing! Can you share?

I'm currently watching your video for the 4th time. Love the information you provide😊
I adore this ❤️
Can you tell me what burner you’re using for the hot sauce cooking outside? I don’t want to buy one that my stock pot won’t work with

@@ShepherdingPeppersFarm thank you! I appreciate the speedy response so I can take care of them🥰
Do you bother trying to isolate peppers to save seed from, or have you found that cross-pollination really isn’t a problem?? Enjoy your videos!!

do you add salt to your cayenne ferment vinigar?
Not typically. I will wait to season with salt during the cooking process
Where are you located?? What part of the country, zone?
South Carolina, zone 8b
@@ShepherdingPeppersFarm Thanks lots!!
Is there a way to bring out more of the pepper's flavor and leas of the pain? 🥵😂

With refrigerater pickles the heat mellows a bit at least in my experience 🙂
