    I think it's a great throwback with a modern take.

      I agree. It keeps a lot of the elements of the original like the character designs and color schemes while updating it with modern tech.

      @@themagicalcarpetcompany it's such a good throwba that I saw a few shorts of it and was confused as to why xmen was in my feed, then I realized it was smoother than I remember and then I was hyped.

    I really love it when western animation styles implement Sakuga techniques. It's like anime and western cartoons had a baby.

    • @themagicalcarpetcompany
      @themagicalcarpetcompany  15 дней назад +2

      Thanks for teaching me a new word with “Sakuga”, but yeah absolutely. They’re definitely going all out with certain shots during the action scenes and I would not be surprised if it wasnt directly an anime influence.

    I don’t know if you noticed, but there are 3d aspects on these animations. In a sense, they mixed 2d and 3d techniques, kinda similar to the spiderverse movies. They also lowered the frame rate so that the 3d instances are not as smooth.

    • @themagicalcarpetcompany
      @themagicalcarpetcompany  Месяц назад

      Oh yeah, I had to look into how they made it to notice some of that stuff, but I think they’re being very intentional in terms of what they are doing for aesthetics versus what is for the nostalgia factor

    • @lavasharkflowers
      @lavasharkflowers Месяц назад +1

      @@themagicalcarpetcompany they made it 3d because it's cheaper to make but let me tell you something if this show was traditionally animated was enough budget it would have been waaaaayyyyy better. Man, I miss shows like Generator Rex and young justice

    • @mikewhocheeseharry5292
      @mikewhocheeseharry5292 6 дней назад

      @@lavasharkflowersit’s not cheaper to make 3D, it’s just that it can be produced and edited quicker and get polished results. Hand drawing every strokes and can take a long time. They hand drew a lot of this in digital, only some of it like the action scenes with the camera work is 3D

    Yeah, I don’t really know my pick eith it, but it does give me just a bit of the crawlies.
    I think it's kind of an uncanny valley issue. It doesn’t look like 90s animation, and it doesn’t look like modern animation, but it also doesn’t look like something from the organic transition between.
    For me it looks like something modern that's trying to look like something 90s, and it just doesn't click. I would've call it bad, just not for me.

  • @mikewhocheeseharry5292
    @mikewhocheeseharry5292 6 дней назад +1

    It’s not amazingly great, but it is a good throwback to keep the continuity of the original hand drawn series. It’s a lot better than Archer but not as good as What if series. However, considering this is hand drawn in comparison to 3D with vector rendering in What If, I would say it’s pretty good for most of the episodes, especially as the series go towards the end.

    • @themagicalcarpetcompany
      @themagicalcarpetcompany  4 дня назад +1

      Yeah I agree with your assessment. But definitely better than Archer but lacking from What If in certain areas. But I would say that the mix of hand drawn animation with cgi techniques during the action scenes really does highlight certain moments so there’s a shot that wows me in every episode.

      Do you not know what the x-men are and the point of them? They are literally meant to represent minorities and address societal and political issues. Woke just means to address societal and political issues, so the X-men were created to be Woke (which ain’t a bad thing)

      Their is actually a surprisingly low amount of woke stuff. I meanz there is a bit, but not enough to put me off from the show. The animation is quite annoying at some points tho. Like the close ups on peoples faces where you can see the red stuff (blood I guess) next to the eye.
      And no, X-men, were not woke before woke. They were reasonably fighting for people's rights. Now they are doin woke nonsense
