Definitely not made up by the movie. I've been reading old X-men comics from the late 70's and when Nightcrawler is first introduced he can't even teleport Wolverine without fainting afterwards.
The new show is incredible. Hell, the Guardian UK gave it 4 stars. I binged all 10, and I didn't like the old show! lol
Yeah dude, I loved the old show as a kid, but rewatching it recently a lot of the animation doesn't hold up in comparison to something the Batman animated series from the same era. This new one is great though!

This is most worrying, Disney does not have a good track record of treating their IPs with care. The way I see it things like animated Star Wars and X-men 97 managed to get released with minimal interference because they are not mainstream, so this success is rather concerning. They start announcing a bunch of different animated shows in the "same universe", that will be a massive red flag for me.
Honestly, you make a great point. Over the last decade Disney has had a tendency to run brands into the ground by over producing. They claim to be cutting back, but im not sure they know how. And youre right that Xmen ‘97 probably got to fly under the radar from top execs which might account for the quality. But im an optimist at heart so Im just hoping they take their time for once 😂
The only power I’d call bs is gambit, isn’t his exploding energy, if he were blowing wolverines skeleton to pieces that would make sense.
Yeah I mean it doesnt make too much sense of you think about it too deeply, but I think perhaps it works because of Wolverine’s adamantium skeleton
I'd guess it's cause adamantium is basically indestructible and wolvie can also heal so he's kind of the perfect person for it.

While in the newer trilogy he actually says that he can telaport to places that he has to been before, and at the end of x men Apocalypse he teleported several members of the x men at the same time.
Yeah he can always teleport to places he’s already been to but there’s no reason for us to think he’s been to astroid M in this continuity. As for him carrying the team that really depends on the writer, but Im pretty sure Nightcrawler is not a too tier teleporter. I feel like the more overpowered his teleportation becomes the less interesting his is.

Its most definitely a continuation of the original series, but if my memory serves me correctly Nightcrawler was only in 1 episode back then.
@@themagicalcarpetcompany Well I did just finish watching this scene recently but I find that the actual distance in scaling has been messed up with the meteor it's shown to be Close TO THE MOON but also Close to Earth and the international Space station which doesn't make sense because the moon is far enough from Earth that you can fit every single one of the planets in our Solar System and end Between Us and the moon But for some reason nightcrawler can still see it.

Yeah I totally agree, like Cyclops was Marvel vs Capcom levels of overpowered but that was probably one of my favorite parts of the show, so I dont really kind them stretching Nightcrawler’s powers as well
Actually no, he just needs to have been to a place, or if he knows of a place, the reason he needs to teleport where he can see is so he doesn’t collide with objects, risking death or dismemberment

I mean thats true. Technically, he can do it. But it’s dangerous. I think the criticism of that scene was mainly that the show didnt even mention how or why he would be willing to take that risk. Not to mention the amount of weight.

have you read the comics in any way? the video suggests you havent. Nightcrawler doesnt "teleport" per sey, he blindly travels through the dimension of hell and reapears on our dimension
he does teleport. what you described is how he does it in some comics. but it makes little sense mentioning the brimstone dimension if you aren’t going to use it in a story
I mean yeah he technically teleports through the Brimstone dimension but im pretty sure his power still categorizes him as a teleporter. Just not as powerful as say Gateway or Magik. But yeah, I read a lot of X-mem comics lol

Episode 5 of X-Men ‘97 changed everything. Amazing episode. Watch any reaction of the episodes after episode 5. No one wanted to be caught emotionally off guard again. No one thought an X-Man would die. After episode 5, that would be the first guess if anything looked shaky. “Sugar…. I can’t feel you”. Made me cry
Yeah episode 5 was definitely a game changer. Between the totally unexpected death to the way that episode brought the themes of the show to their most extreme. So well done

The show forgot to bring up the fact that every sup has anger empowerment ability which is their adrenealine rush which has been shown from sam and homelander and ryan but even though sup adrenealine rush helps increase strength speed agility reflexes stamina endurance healing factor regeneration which is very important it would have help golden boy alot to become powerful enough to homelander level all he had to do is have aircraft carrier with chains wrapped around it pull on it and then imagine the ship as a car and his girlfriend under the car get scared and then get angrey which will make his brain think and go into fighter flight mode and then his heart starts to beat fast and then hus blood vessels start to get bigger increase his strength speed agility reflexes stamina endurance mobility healing factor regeneration in survival mode which will tear small muslces and then his muscles start heal regenerate to become stronger durable then last time tbis wluld have help focus on his emotion at will and on command to increase power level it's better idea then principle draining his brother powers to charge luke power to be powerful as homelnader their u go sam was abuse and used for no reason
This is very true and why X-Men really resonates with gay people, we are told from a young age we are freaks, we are not natural, against god, etc. But eventually we learn to love ourselves, love our mutant powers! I love being gay and my community!

Yeah I should’ve mentioned him but I was running out of space so I left out a few of the mutant cameos that werent Morph transformations like Omega Red, The Scarlett Witch, Polaris, and the members of Alpha Flight. Morph also briefly turns into Sauron in the last episode.

Yeah I know, but that was before the Disney acquisition of Marvel, and before Marvel sold Spider-man to Sony. If they remake the universe they’ll have to deal with Sony owning the wall crawler. So I think this counts as new even if it somewhat already existed
