This is all a cappella and the Home Free Beatboxer is amazing. You should watch Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s just him and a microphone doing drums. The bass, Tim, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors. They are all so talented. The man you think looks like a mechanic(Rob) can sing opera….no kidding! Love Home Free. They are country but sing all genres of music. And they all take the lead depending on the song. Watch Rob sing End of the Road. 😍
Talent is talent, no matter the genre. I'm a child of '69 and grew up with good old rock and roll, but got into funk and soul by the time I was 10, and then started listening to rap when all my friends were into K.I.S.S. and Madonna. Newcleus, Sugarhill, Grandmaster Flash, Run-D.M.C...man, I listen to anything that pleases my ears and my soul, from old bluegrass to techno. Home Free? They are the only acapella group I have ever really enjoyed and they are SUBLIME! Love that they can reach across generations and genres like they do.
I heard this song for the first time in the movie O brother where art thou and immediately got captured, it stucks into your mind and Home Free does it very well!
Now, for a romantic one…your lady will Love it…”WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN”… Austin Brown (their high tenor)…will blow your socks off 🙃🔥‼️❤️ There’s no one particular lead diva…depends on the voice to fit the song…..they’ve got over 200+ videos here on RUclips….All genres….whatever tickles your fancy 🔥🙃❤️‼️🎶🎵
This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there (5 octave range) & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound (drums, harmonica etc.). This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
One of the things I love about Home Free is that they dont let themselves be confined by the labels society puts on them. They are a "Country" a cappella group...but they do Gospel, Pop, Opera, Broadway, Do - wop, Classic Rock, etc...then, to top it all off...they dont only do covers. They do originals. Tim and Austin are quite talented song writers. Another thing I love about them is that they are just so...personable...and humorous. Down to Earth guys always willing to stand by their opinions. They dont need the costumes, makeup, fancy light shows, etc...they just show up in jeans and a tshirt, and blow your mind with their talent.
Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others. Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible. Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound. There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). .. This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing. Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group Listen to:"End Of The Road", "How Great Thou Art "
@@WollisWorld Excellent! I look forward to your reaction to End of the Road! Also The beat boxer Adam Rupp has a "drum solo" that you should react to as well. React to the 2016 video with Adam Rupp is wearing the red shirt. You will have a new appreciation for beatboxers! Adam Rupp sounds like he swallowed a drum kit and a sound machine!
I started falling in love with a Capella groups about 3 years ago, and never looked back.....just the skill alone, in creating instruments like in a band, with just their voices, sets these groups apart from all the rest, and their skills are beyond mention! Another thing I also appreciate as well, is they are able to cross genres with ease, as in the case, where Home Free is generally Country, they can also do soul, rock pop, and everything in-between. I would love you to check out their version of Boyz 11 Men's, End of the Road, and Butts Remix, just so you can see their versatility 😊 Oh, I almost forgot, check out their Country boys try to sing Opera, and the guy (Rob), that you didn't think by looking at him, could sing, and you will be blown away, at just how talented he is!!!
I think Adam is an amazing beatboxer. His drumkit sounds are amazing. The best snare and rimshots I have heard. And his ability here to imitate the harmonica is astounding. Love Home Free thanks Wolli.
@@LokificentsLair No he's not. He said so himself. You can watch every Grand Champion Beatboxing competition here on YT & he's not in any of them. He's amazing, but not a Grand Champion.
This is an old Appalachian song first written down in 1913. It was featured in the movie O,Brother Where Art Thou. There are a few good acapella groups out there, but Home Free is the best,in my opinion. Besides their obvious talent,a couple other things help them to excel: Their arrangements are always top notch and the backdrop is excellent. The canopy of trees above and behind them is the perfect setting for this song.
And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We'll save you a chair. You're about to be buried in Home Fries. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. God bless ‘em. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a world-class vocal percussionist and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos. For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob's soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) For Austin's soaring power tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You'll need smelling salts after that one. Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother). And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’ve been hit by the curse four times now, and I’m not alone. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.
Home Free are wonderful. PTX is my favorite but I love these boys too. They’re incredibly talented and funny. The Butts Remix is so silly but SO good ❤️🔥🙌

They are a unique group. Very talented to be doing everything with no instruments, you have to have a great voice to sing without instruments. Their beatboxer is amazing too and the bass!
The “train” in this song, is The Northern Railroad”, an underground network of people that helped smuggle slaves to freedom. First called “The Goodbye Song “ and also “The Farewell Song “ is a slave bidding farewell to all he knows and loves, before risking his life to get to freedom. First recorded around 1915, a very old Folk song.
