Kind of funny that 76 people don’t seem to realize that it was a heat seeking missile. It didn’t change targets.
You know, the first time I watched this movie, when I was a kid, I couldn't stand Ben in this scene and I partly blamed him.... But now I think I feel sorry for Ben, I mean, imagine living your whole life like that and seeing the woman you loved look at you like that and abandon you, and as soon as you have a solution for you, everything goes to hell.

I felt bad for him too but I was like you, in the scene when he went off on Reed bothered me. Reed had been working day and night on that mission for who knows how long and he literally just went out for just a few hours and Ben freaks out on him, ending their friendship. I get Ben was frustrated and also being manipulated by Victor but he should have known better, he knew Victor was no good. But luckily Ben came to his senses and changed back which was actually really great considering how badly he wanted to go back to normal.
I never thought Ben was at fault when I was a kid. I understood that he wanted to be normal again, and Victor said he could make him normal. Nobody knew Victor was a psycho, power hungry killer at that point so Ben didn't have any reason to turn down his offer.
The way Johnny threw himself on that grenade was awesome!
I know! I think it is such an underrated superhero moment! He literally through caution to the wind, that could have gone horribly.

@@Ahmed-Soudi He also had an OOOPS moment when He and a Girl were skiing/snowboarding down a mountain. His clothes got burnt off, He went through the air into a big snow bank.
Gotta admit this doctor doom outfit looks really good from the comics and way better than the trash 2015 version.

Chris Evans is what makes FF movies watchable I still rewatch the o5-07 FF movies from time to time and just fast-forward through any scene that is not focused on him. It also helps the the fire scenes are always fast paced with enough movement that the effects in comparison don't look nearly as bad as the others.

The whole reason he let himself be targeted by the missile in the first place is because he and his friends are under attack by Doom, it doesn’t take a genius to realize Doom isn’t going to stop just because a singular missile didn’t work

Ngl, as far as first power up scenes go, this was an excellent scene after all the attempts he made at flying earlier in the film.

I am honestly curious, can the human torch fly out of the sea if he is submerged and if he is in human form? If he ignites his power then won't he just boil the water around him and not flight?
Maybe he might be able to evaporate enough water fast enough that he could fly out, he can reach the temperature of the sun after all, but if not, he probably would just climb on to the barge or nearest solid ground and instantly boil the water off himself when he flies
No. It's not because wet, it's because water don't let the oxigen come in contact to him.
He needs oxigen to burn.
If some device provides oxigen under water, then he can burn for a while, like an oxiacetilene torch, it happened.
Without aids, he cannot burn in the water and no, he cannot boil the water away, this is completely silly.
He must climb out of water and then he can evaporate the dampness in few seconds, then catch fire again.
But nope, no burning while submerged.
Depends on the writer and the plot if he needs to be scared of water for the plot then he either can't flame on at all or the water just boils other times he can get hot enough for the water around him to instantly evaporate. I stopped keeping up with the comics a while ago but in the cartoon there is an episode where they go to Atlantis and the running joke is Johnny being terrified of water and submarines.

Now known as Doctor Doom, Victor defeated Reed, kidnapped him and send the missile right at the Baxter Building to destroy Ben, Susan and Johnny. However, Johnny realized it's a heat signal missile and lead it away from the Baxter Building.

He was trying to trick the missile by hurling a fireball upwards and then extinguishing himself in hopes that the missile would keep following the fireball, hit it and detonate
Obviously it didn’t work, but props to Johnny for thinking that up on the fly

My understanding was that the machine couldn’t generate enough power to reverse the effects the cosmic rays had on the F4 when Reed first tried to use it, the second time Doom was able to use his own abilities to give the machine enough of a boost to cure Ben, and then the third time the machine generated the same amount of power as the first time, which was enough to give Ben his powers *back* and allow him to fight with the others

In the novelization, they had Johnny light up a hand and wave it around to confirm that the missile would change slightly to adjust for him. If you're wondering how Johnny knew it was coming for him specifically.

Johnny Storm was smart to send some flame towards the barge with fireworks so that he can fly right through the flame and the missile will explode, though the explosion sent Johnny into the water until someone got him out and he had to wait to dry before flaming 0on again and humiliate Doctor Doom later on for attacking him, his sister and his friends.

The action in these movies is so limited that it fails to impress me
The focus was more so on the drama and the dynamics of the characters, which i really appreciate. The focus on today's superhero movies is comedy and action, and it's annoying.

@@Zombiesnyder13 Well, one of the things about the Fantastic four is that they don't have secret identities. They have much different drama and conflicts than Spiderman. However, I do think if they had embraced the weird and had Dr. Doom already be established it could've made for some really fun stories.
