Film description: After defeating Victor Von Doom, the Fantastic Four can really enjoy life more. All four are now comfortable with their new powers. Galactus, an evil creature in space, has decided that Earth is its new target, and sends the Silver Surfer to destroy it. They treated their VFX team better back then than they do today
I think some of it is to do with them using Doug Jones as Surfer's physical body. You call Andy Serkis when you want mocap but Doug Jones is the man for practical prosthetic and makeup work. Then they got Weta to do what they did with Deadpool's costume and add VFX to enhance the look. It gives more weight to the performance since it's then two people acting opposite one another instead of Chris Evans vs a tennis ball on a stick or a guy in a green screen onesie
I mean this did came out the year Spider-man 3 came out and yeah the effects for that movie look awesome too. ❤
I like how they move so fast that all the cars move and get damaged but the humans next to them are perfectly fine.

What is more impressive is that this movie didn't murder Chris Evans film career. Seriously, he was the very first to change his Marvel character and that was unprecedented at the time.

It may have been a first, but it’s not like it was a big deal either. This movie was released in 2007, the first Iron Man was in 2008. The MCU wasn’t even a thing yet. Most normies couldn’t tell the difference between Marvel and DC anyway, they were all just goofy superhero movies, who cared if an actor became a different character? Nobody knew the MCU would become an unprecedented blockbuster juggernaut, or that Chris Evans would become iconic as Captain America.
I would argue that recasting an actor is a harder sell, and they did that just fine with Bruce Banner and Rhodey.
The irony of Johnny doing more damage than surfer in the chase lol

When the Human Torch said "It's torchin' time" and torched all over the place it was amazing.
When the silver surfer said ,"its surfing time" and silvered all over the surface ,it was a truly heart warming moment

I saw this movie in the theater when I was a kid. A couple days later I went to the community pool and when I jumped off the diving board as a reference to this scene, I intentionally did a belly flop as an excuse to yell "FLAME ON!" like Johnny

The Surfer’s Power Cosmic is just a tiny portion of Galactus’ power
@@BC08 I think he's been able to knock out Galactus when he was SEVERELY weakened from hunger and there are times when Galactus gives Surfer a larger portion of the power cosmic, which makes him exponentially more powerful. But generally, Surfer isn't even close to Galactus' power.

He was evidently playing, you can see that, he even wants to be chased and waits for the torch, challenging him in the tunnel. Till the torch got serious and he reacted as a sort of "how dare you".
