    Quick tip: The conjugation for ずに is just the conjugation for negativity with the ない replaced with ず or ずに.
    It also makes sense since "without" implies negativity.

      Just what I was going to say. That’s why 食わず uses わ, because 食う/食います are う/い verbs, which means their ない form is 食わない

      @japanesefromzero  5 лет назад +14

      Of course I know this. But the worst thing I could do is grammar stack on a video series that are most likely not watched in order. Statistically speaking this could be someone’s first video and that throwaway thing I did explaining あ form going to わ might be the biggest thing the new viewer learns.

      Learn Japanese From Zero! We were saying for anyone who does already know ない form.

    • @japanesefromzero
      @japanesefromzero  5 лет назад +8

      @@HyperLuigi37 - I understand. My point is that if the listener didn't know that it would just confuse them more. You will see in videos that I often repeat something that some students might know because I don't assume everyone will know. That is the "Japanese From Zero!" way of thinking. But of course you are right.

    • @japanesefromzero
      @japanesefromzero  5 лет назад +8

      Let me add to this... what I was doing was giving a rule that would work for ANYTIME you need to go to あ form when the verb ends in う. Sometimes I will even explain いる・える verbs again despite most people using JFZ knowing this. I don't like to assume prior knowledge. I am certain everyone benefits from a bit of review. Peace.

    Honestly I think 10 minutes is a better format. 5 is too short. But don't go Misa style 45 minutes long. 10 minutes or so Is a great way to get a small daily dose of grammar while still giving me time to learn kanji and do integration activities like writing, speaking, reading, and listening.

    I really like how you explain these concepts. That being said, I think the 5-minute format is limiting you (you did 10 minutes on this one which was great). Take your time, I am sure most of your subscribers would prefer it.

    I've a question. How can i create sentences like "as ADJECTIVE as". I know, が早いか is existing, but it seems only for はやい. I couldn't find p.e. がつよいか in google. A video to this grammar would be very appreciated.
