This vid helped clarify a lot, but I always thought 多分 was closer to "Probably" than "Maybe" since it's the highest likelihood that something will come to pass. "Maybe" and "Might" are closer to uncertainty or a true 50/50 chance.
Love the fact that I wake up in the morning to a new video! I would subscribe to a daily "Japanese in 5" newsletter. Spending 5-10 minutes every morning on a new word keeps me motivated!
I am loving the daily uploads, I can really see myself getting into the habit of watching these everyday and constantly improving my Japanese ! Thanks George. :)
As a second language, I have no sense of easy or difficult, but I've also always felt that learning Japanese has been easy. The system of particles are what interest me the most. A lot of Japanese feels so systematic.
These videos are great, even when I know all the material already I still watch just for more example sentences and in case there are more perspectives than I’ve seen
「多分」って言葉は,日本人の僕でもとても助かる言葉ですね!少しでも不安があったら,先頭に「多分」をつけると全否定や全肯定してないので,心配な時によく使います (Maybe)This word is really useful!! Because If you this word put to first sentence, become not perfect...sorry my English is soooooo bad. Ex)多分違う気がする “Maybe” it’s wrong. これは、よく使うので覚えて!
Another great lesson in 5, 6 たぶん 7, from you, Georgie San, Thank you, but i find myself looking forward to the last few seconds, just to see what you will do and say, and enjoying this part as much as the lesson.
The difference between かもしれない and 可能性がある is that, when I use the former, is like if the possibility depends on me, while when I use the ladder the possibility depends on the case. Is it correct? Did I understand?
Probably not as 「な」 is a sentence ending particle in and of itself, so I've always thought of 「かな」as being a combination of two particles mixing the meanings together similar to 「かよ」or「かね」

Power up your Japanese on FromZero.com (lessons, quizzes, games, ask-a-teacher)
Did this video perhaps help you maybe learn a bit more about how "maybe" works in Japanese?
多分そうだかもしれない可能性があります
Random question: What's the Japanese equivalent to replying "Indeed" to something someone said?
@@Flamerate1 pretty sure it's いかにも
@@Flamerate1 I hear the word "確かに" daily which the dictionary says means: "definitely; indeed; undoubtedly". It's a term of agreement at least.
I didn't realize how much I didn't understand the differences until this video. What about Perhaps?
Loving the daily uploads George. Great to have such high quality content for my studies again, thank you.

Do you know the website "Word of the day"?
Its worth checking it.
So much knowledge! Is this "Japanese in 5" or "Japanese Daily"? George, you're spoiling us!
I am loving the daily uploads, I can really see myself getting into the habit of watching these everyday and constantly improving my Japanese ! Thanks George. :)
George is BACK ON IT! Back with the great lessons.
5 minutes or 10 minutes, it doesn't matter. We're lucky to have someone like you who is happy to produce these videos for us to learn from.

Thank you maestro
Nice video George! Definitely like that this series is back in full swing.
Love these short lessons George ! It's true - I don't deserve these videos. :)
You're on fire .....cheers for the lessons

“Maybe” it’s wrong.

Welcome to Japanese In 5!
Thank you for this video :)
Very very good!
Another great lesson in 5, 6 たぶん 7, from you, Georgie San, Thank you, but i find myself looking forward to the last few seconds, just to see what you will do and say, and enjoying this part as
much as the lesson.
What's with these sudden daily uploads? Is this Heaven?
I've heard 可能性がある for the first time in death note. Some characters (N, for example) say it all the time.
The difference between
かもしれない and 可能性がある is that, when I use the former, is like if the possibility depends on me, while when I use the ladder the possibility depends on the case.
Is it correct? Did I understand?
Everyone learns as a kid that maybe is nearly a no, I think your sweet wife is directing it to the word possibly. Which is like a more positive maybe.
Don't forget もしかしたら
The way I think of 多分 is “many divisions”, or there are many ways it could be, but it maybe it’s this one.
多分 means probably
When do you do your RUclips live streams? Are they announced or scheduled?
I am not longer doing RUclips live streams. I am doing this offline to speed up my schedule.
what about おそらく, when do you use this?
コロナ居留守の可能性がある
I always wanted to be able to say thatだけだ
I can't actually complain, but how many of these videos have been close to five minutes?
Don't look a gift うま in the くち!
"Japanese is 5" *goes for 10 and half minutes*
多分、ジョジさんの次のビデオは5分あります。No complaints though :)
Lol that ending xD
you made my alexa talk
I wonder if the ~かな ending for "I wonder" is a shorted form of KAmoshireNAi?
Probably not as 「な」 is a sentence ending particle in and of itself, so I've always thought of 「かな」as being a combination of two particles mixing the meanings together similar to 「かよ」or「かね」
「Japanese in 5」今10分だけかかります... 多分 😉😇
多分10分がいい。
Is that a Brexit-themed T-shirt? Loving this run of videos, by the way!
Japanese in 10 minutes ^^
明日ビデオがある可能性がある?
たぶん ある yes 60%/40%
たぶん ない no 60%/40%
たぶん 50%/50%
Just change it to japanese in 10 already, theres no shame to it
