I'm liking this series so far, but I'll tell you right now that the crested gecko subreddit controversial posts are as boring as the lizard is. And I LOVE crested geckos.
If you think crested geckos are boring you obviously don’t love them 🤨 my crested gecko Gus literally shit in my eye this morning while sitting on my face and then proceeded to lick my eyeball after I cleaned it… I honestly think he was trying to clean my eyeball for me since he knows I can’t lick it myself lol
Are the people responding to you illiterate or something? You didn't say that the geckos are boring, you were calling the controversial subreddit posts boring, I have no idea how they misread what you said lmao
For the one that had a frog and a beta fish, I can confirm that they can co-hab just fine as long as they both have calm temperaments. However, that African dwarf frog was incredibly skinny and appeared to be the only of its species in the tank which if so, is very bad for their health as they are very social.
@@Twisted.Stitches absolutely incorrect. The Betta will remain twice the size of this frog. It is a DWARF species of frog and the size it is in the photo is about as big as it gets, but the original comment is correct, it's very skinny. It should be rounder
@@Twisted.Stitches no lmfao they will not. African dwarf frogs often get confused for African clawed frogs for whatever reason, so maybe that’s what you’re thinking of, but they’re extremely different. ADFs stay tiny (hence the “dwarf” in their name).
Man the toad with the eggs in it's nostrils from the last episode still haunts me. I have no issues with spiders and most other creepy crawlies whatsoever, but parasites just strike a fucking nerve. I genuinely can't remember the last time I regretted seeing an image this much. It still flashes before my minds eye involuntarily. I might be mildly traumatized lmao someone please hand me the unsee juice This video was still painful to watch but at least it didn't have anything like that again. What even is this subreddit. What did frogs do to deserve this
Alright, Alex, I gotchu, fam. According to ten minutes of Internet research plus a couple Google image searches, the best answer I can give you for the buff frog picture is that it is either a female frog full of eggs, or a frog with a myostatin deficiency, which leads to abnormal muscle growth. I leave it up to you to pick which to believe, but this may be the answer for which you have sought so long.
I actually really like you reacting to these, but if it's bad for your mental well-being, don't torture yourself for us! I'm personally fascinated by parasites, but it would be weird just seeing lots of poop and froggos being abused/dead/over populated for food/etc.
@GoHerping Reptiles of reddit is my favorite series!!! Also my leapord gecko diego dosent eat mealworms when i give him them he kicks them away why would this be? (he eats crickets)
He might be scared of them. For some reason my bearded dragon Luna had a phobia of mealworms and superworms when we got her, and would just back away from them and turn her beard black if she saw them. We gave up on feeding her any pretty quickly, and she never got over her fear of them. We assume she had some sort of traumatic incident involving them before we got her...
As an Asian I can assure you our animal ethics are a bit sus. We don't even free roam rabbits (except for mine, of course), like that isn't common practice in Japan where I come from. Wouldn't know about the folks in Eurasia but at least Japan I can assure you needs that scolding and is not racist.
I’ve never heard of rabbit farms having free roam rabbits, in fact that term only popped up on my radar last year and i’m almost 30. xD My best childhood friend raised meat rabbits and they were all caged, so that was just normal for me.
@@ericaallisonc well it's different with livestock and with pets. Pet rabbits need ethical treatment, meat rabbits, not so much. Rather I should say, the goal of a meat rabbit is to give a quick, painless death and provide food, which requires a different set of ethics. It's like a different bar, and I understand that food is scarce if you farm rabbits for meat. I'm not saying your farmer buddy's a bad person, just that the standard is different. If anything farmers feed mouths, that's respectable.
I’m also Japanese and yes, animal ethics in Asia are definitely sus and need improvement. I don’t know how different livestock animals are treated from in the west, but pet ethics really need work. Animal cafes, animals that shouldn’t be pets like owls and meerkats, poor husbandry practices, etc. Critisizing these things are not racist.
0:33 bettas (male or female) can live with african dwarf frogs fine as long as the betta isnt super aggressive, my bettas and dwarf frogs mind their own business and dont interact with each other at all the frog is definitely starving to death tho
I unfollowed someone because they got a frog from the pet store and didn’t listen to anyone about the care and said everyone was bullying them in a Facebook group even though they just gave advice
Maybe that person doesn’t know that snakes eat frogs but I don’t understand why they would assume this would be okay? Also snakes are opportunistic feeders. Even tho they don’t need much food, if it’s there and it smells like food they WILL eat.
