anyone who starts off with the cdt for the triple crown is awesome imo so ill be following
Clearly your experience shows - you are well set for the AT. Have a GREAT hike!
Another organizational benefit of stuff sacks is to manage the 'pack explosion' in your tent. I have very little floor space in my 1P tent - I put gear I want to access at night in a sack - where I can find it.
The sip tube should work well - just remember to clean it regularly.
Just recently discovered your channel and love your approach. I might have to go back and binge your previous hikes! Can’t wait to follow your AT hike. BTW, love your paper map approach.
Hi, your experience demonstrates your readiness for the AT. Stuff sacks help manage the 'pack explosion' in tents, ensuring gear is easily accessible at night. Thank you for sharing😍✨
Great video and I too just found your channel but looking forward to catching up. It’s nice to see another hiking shirt person 😊 Love too your paper map approach, it’ll never run out of batteries 😂 And I love the tactile feel and just look of a good ol’ map.❤️ Bear hang carabiner, I found a great tip on YT to use a locking one as sometimes the wind can twist your line and “pop” the non-locking type & your bag is then stuck. Your experience really shines through 👍
Sounds like know what you’re doing. I’m excited to watch. Will you be showing us your food etc? Do the paper maps show nearby hostels? They can fill up fast if you get into a bubble. Plan ahead a bit if you use them. Thanks for sharing your experience. You’re going to love the AT!
Nice video. I wanted to suggest you might want to use zingit vs paracord. It is much lighter weight, less bulky, very strong and great to use for hanging your bear bag.
Looks like a solid kit. Will you show what will typically be in your food bag?
Nice! What is your pack weight with all that?
If you click the gear list link in the description box, you can see all the gear with the base weight totaled at the bottom.
Excited to follow an experienced hiker.
How much does you bag weight in total at the end?
Also what kind of food will you be bringing along? :)
Cant wait to follow your thru trip of the AT!
Good luck, i'll be following along your journey from here in England! 😊
I purposely go @ least 24h w/o using phone or map, early on to get connected with nature. You're a smart person.
I'm bringing paper maps too. Good call! Have fun out there!
Good Luck Jen.
Thank you!
I just truly love maps - and love that you are trying to rely mostly on them this time (but backup is always smart just in case , and you’ve got it).
Wish you the best in your journey :)
Glitter crocs FTW! Good Luck!
I'm really enjoying your channel - thanks for sharing! I'm sure I can learn a lot from you. Appreciate you!
The InsectShield treatment works wonders!
Good luck, I can’t wait to follow your hiking adventures!
Excited to watch your journey!!!🎉
Jen, you were back I’ve watched you do several hikes and then you disappeared. Nice to see you again.
Yes, life took over but I'm back now 😄 Thanks for the continued support!
Thank you for your content! I might see you out there
Nice gear list!
I wish you all the best 🐿️
Best of luck, GOD bless. Be safe.
goodluck on ur hike! dont forget the miracle of freezer bags
cool going for triple crown --only time your get NIGHT TIME mega cold if you get after passing Virginia going Nobo AKA NORTH..IN OCTOBER
Thank You Jen ✨
Great video, thank you :)
Nice set up. Wish you a happy hike! What's your thoughts on bear protection? You don't bring any bear spray?
Thank you! No Grizzlies so no bear spray. Black bears will typically run away if you yell and stand your ground 🐻
@@jenbrownhikes Ok, if you say so ... Here in Norway we usually keep the food in the tent. We have some brown bears here, but they are extremely shy and I have never seen one. Never heard of any raiding of tents
Were you on the AT in Georgia in April 2015
Does your Sotos windscreen stove fit inside your 750 toaks with the fuel and lighter ok? I also have a jetboil stabilizer inside of mine and wanted to upgrade my stove from the BRS but idk if i have room for all since the windscreen part is so wide. Love your use of the pocket guides i hate being a phone zombie, gonna start printing mini maps now
Yep, the fuel, stove, and lighter all fit perfectly 👍
I didn’t notice a compass in your gear load out.
Are you going to use your phone or just maps?
Best of Luck Enjoy
Holy cow, that’s a super heavy gauge of cordage you have for the bear hang. You could save a few ounces easily by going 330 paracord or less, and limiting yourself to 35 feet.
Do you bring wet wipes to clean your face and body at the end of the day, or just use water and your towel?
Thanks for sharing your gear.
Do you moisturize your hair on trail?
I love my toe socks. Got the same kind.
🙏❤️🙏
Dance pants ! You must watch Jupiter 😅
