This is the most beautiful ted talk i have ever seen...!!!
Sam is literally the best. Fantastic talk, you are truly an amazing role model. Keep up the great work!
I love how this went from a talk about molecular biology to intersections with social justice! So powerful. I also think that the message about our bodies being a universe and self compassion would do useful in eating disorder treatment and body image work. Ah - such an amazing talk! ❤️❤️
This was a such a wonderful mix of learning and inspiration. Sam you crushed it!! 🧠💥
Thank you!!!🙏🏼❤️ always inspired by you so I’m glad you dug it!😭

ugh science sam
your talk literally made my hair stand up on end, that self-awareness and passion for science !. We need more great science communicators like you to spread the word that we share more than what separates us.
Francisco Arcila thank you so much Francisco I’m so glad you liked it!
Love this talk! Great job Sam!
Awesome talk, Sam! I felt completely identified with what you said. I asked myself those same questions too about who am I and what am I made of since I was a child and that's exactly why I decided to be a Biologist, so I could answer those questions and learn more and more each day. Congrats! You're doing amazing! ❤️🎉
Ana Sofia Vazquez thank you! I’m so glad it resonated ❤️🙏🏼
First of all, love the talk. Absolutely. Second, love how you talk. I really enjoyed your enthusiasm and energy. You are such a great speaker, so natural and fluent! How do you do that? I would appreciate some tips. I'm so nervous when giving presentations and I feel like my mind and thoughts are falling apart. :/ And third, the outfit 😍
You seem so confident, intelligent,funny...and so passionate, beautiful human being. True definition of badass woman! ☺️ I follow you on Instagram and your posts motivates me at times when I feel "lazy". Even those with you struggling with thesis. I can so relate to and feel less down when you remind me yeah I'm not the only one :D :) Im looking forward to your next talk. Thank you for inspiration and sending you love and luck to your adventures ❤️❤️💯
Zannet24 i used to have anxiety attacks before going up on stage to present but a lot of exposure therapy (aka practise) has helped. I think also allowing myself to be myself instead of performing a certain way has really helped me feel more comfortable. I like to speak informally and make weird jokes and if the speaker is comfortable, relaxed, and enthusiastic, the audience will be too! Keep practising! Videotape yourself, present to friends, and get comfortable with the awkwardness ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful topic and I really enjoyed listening. It’s so helpful to know my current human biology class.
amazing. truly inspiring.
Beautiful and inspiring!
Absolutely loved this, Sam! You killed it 😍😍😍
I clapped at the end of this sitting in my living room haha. We are masterpieces!! :D Thanks Sam
I very much enjoyed your ted talk and in fact I did identify with the existential thoughts you raised in the introduction. Though it hasn’t led me to a career in neuroscience, I’ve never lost that sense of wonder in how life arose and developed into creatures like us who are capable of such self consciousness. The answers lie largely in continual scientific discoveries through the ages. You are living that life and it’s awesome. 🙂👍
Terry N thank you, Terry! I’m so glad you liked it and could relate to the existential intro! My hope is to help everyone stay curious in this way ❤️ we don’t need to be scientists by training to be scientists in life 😊
That was amazing
Your talk was so inspirational Sam! In a world where we try to solve the littlest things in life, trying to find our self-worth and destination in life. I think we forget that all our cells are really working really hard for us and that we should also strive to be the best that we can be! Loved how you explained the complex biology into something that is relatable to all!

InspireMeStars it’s an easy thing to forget but a beautiful thing to remember ❤️❤️ thank you, I’m so glad you liked it!
This is sooooooo amazing 👏
Great talk 🙌
Okay okay sister friend!!!! You are just sooooo incredible, your insight and ability to inspire others is unprecedented, the world would be so different if you were not in it creating this type of magic. Thank you for an incredible ted talk and for overall being one of the best humans on this planet!!!!
Kenzie Brenna 😭😭 thank you angel! I’m so so glad you liked it, you were of course such an inspiration during the prep 🙏🏼❤️
cried tears of joy in my universities library! truly beautiful talk.
Inez M woww thank you! I’m so glad it resonated 😭❤️❤️
There is a genius scientist inside her.
Now 👏🏼 that 👏🏼 I'm 👏🏼 at 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 end 👏🏼 of 👏🏼 my 👏🏼 Ph.D.
Yes Sam! You killed it, great job ♡
Greta Kcomt hahah yess shouting it from the rooftops!!!!🎉🎉
I don't get it😵💫
Vitians attendance....
Not bad but if I may give some feedback, I'd say: it gets clear that you are neuroscientist at 5:37 when you say "auditory cortex".... You lost some part of the audience here... In my opinion, it was unnecessary sciency jargon. You used it a couple more times later. Another point is that I didn't believe the intro story: who am I, what am I questions to the mirror. Doesn't seem realistic...to me..
Overall! Good talk! Congrats! Keep it up in your Instagram ;-)
Dmitry Kopelyanskiy thanks for the feedback!
