    I just like how Bolt is always so loose. He never looks nervous at all. He doesn't get blinded by the lights. They fuel him.

Micheal Johnson was really a great and awesome champion in his time! Usain Bolt is another great and awesome champion in his time! They're all really just great! Right on!

      Tonatihu Gutierrez It sucks that people do that... I mean, if they threw a bottle to a Football game or something, that's fine.... But these athletes have been working for year for that moment, and just being willing to ruin that for an athlete makes you such a terrible human being!

    Talking about starts, Asafa Powell is a freak of nature. Despite him being 6ft 3, he accelerates very quickly and I reckon it being better than Gatlin, probably has the best starts in the world. Sadly when he is at maximum velocity his legs look kind of restricted unlike Bolt, Gatlin, Blake and Gay who seems to look more natural.

    • @yaswanthkumart6874
      @yaswanthkumart6874 2 года назад +1

      Totally agree! He's start off the blocks is way better than Gatlin. And yes, when he reaches the 70m mark his legs kind off goes up & down rather than going front and back

    No lie.... I could listen to MJ breaking down Usain Bolt all day. There's nothing like listening to ONE Greatest of all time... Generational Athlete, talk about or Gush about the NEW Greatest of all time Dude. And do it in a humble and knowledgeable way. 👏👏👏
    I've tried listening to Gatlin talk about Bolt and their rivalry and it just doesn't come across the same way.??
    Regardless, there's ZERO doubt in how much MJ respects and admires Bolt ....and vice versa with Bolt respecting MJ. Two Legends

    You know what would have been great to see? An analysis of Ryan Bailey's race. Right now he's the second tallest sprinter behind Bolt. I would really love to see how the two compare. From this race looks to me that he had one of the slowest drive phases of the line. Did he just start poorly because of nerves or did his height compromise his start as well.

    • @eamparbeng
      @eamparbeng 8 лет назад

      I think Ryan Bailey has just as much potential as Usain Bolt. Bailey's 6'4" tall compared to Bolt's 6'5" tall. they're both the size of NBA shooting guards. Ryan Bailey could actually challenge Usain Bolt if he had Asafa Powell's or Justin Gatlin's starts combined with Tyson Gay's top end speed. but Michael Johnson in this video stated that the taller you are, the harder it is to have a good start with Asafa Powell being an exception. so Ryan Bailey has just a hard time to get that quick start as Usain Bolt.

    • @youvids9820
      @youvids9820 8 лет назад +1

      +Kwame Amparbeng ryan is fast,but he doesnt have the power.

    • @eamparbeng
      @eamparbeng 8 лет назад

      +youvids9820 you're right about Ryan Bailey's lack of power. Cuz when Bolt and Bailey raced against each other on the final leg of the relay at the games, they were both even at one point but then Usain Bolt began to pull away and win for Jamaica.

    • @sashastrachan7618
      @sashastrachan7618 8 лет назад +3

      Kwame Amparbeng But that's simply because Usain has better top end speed. I don't get your original point because I could say that if Asafa had Usain's top end speed, he'd beat Bolt. If we are going to say that if this person got this other person's ability then he could win, then EVERYONE could win. The point is that they do not. Bolt not only has an incredible top end speed, he's also able to maintain that speed longer than anyone else. Bailey doesn't have that.
      I want to see an analysis of Bailey not because I think he has a chance of winning, but because I wan't to see if the angle issues Bolt has is a problem Bailey has as well or if it's a problem unique to Bolt. Every race I've seen with Bailey shows him lagging behind the others at the start, but I don't know if he's just a poor starter or if getting out of the blocks quickly is hindered because of his height.

    So I get that a tall runner like Usain Bolt has the advantage later in the race due to his long strides, but for the 100 meter dash, Johnson explains that unlike most tall sprinters, Usain Bolt doesn't "give up" at the first 30 meters which is why he is able to perform so well. But I'd like to know why he doesn't "give up" in the start like other tall sprinters.

    • @benrisk21
      @benrisk21 9 лет назад +15

      Because he has an unusually fast "first 30 meters" for a tall sprinter. There is no reason really. He just isn't hampered by his height in the early part of the race like most tall sprinters are. When you have the best "top speed" (30-70 meters of a 100 meter race) and you can stay ahead or even with the competition for the beginning of the race, that makes you almost unbeatable.

    • @loonaticaaron
      @loonaticaaron 9 лет назад +4

      So it's like a gift from god

    • @benrisk21
      @benrisk21 9 лет назад +10

      loonaticaaron Yes. You could say that. He's just simply a better sprinter than everyone else. He has shown that we are wrong about what we think the best body for a sprinter is. People used to think you had to be shorter for the best body type.

    • @gol.drodger5261
      @gol.drodger5261 9 лет назад +1

      Maybe he does give up something and if he was shorter he would be that much faster in the 30 metres. Just a thought.

    • @benrisk21
      @benrisk21 9 лет назад +1

      Maybe. And that makes him even greater if it's true.

    Great video but I have a question from Michael Johnson
    how do you explain that Flo-Jo record still stands to this day? when there's better nutrition better equipment better training better technique how is that possible? even in the light since her record was set, the men record fell several times. Whatever she took, whatever they were testing on her ultimately killed her... can someone say early stages of enhance hormone therapy
