- In todays video we are running through the full setup and install for the Home Assistant Community Store. In addition tot the install I also point out some potential pitfalls which will hopefully help some of you out.
This video has been due an overhaul and will hopefully answer any questions from the 2022 HACS install video.

Try CTRL+SHIFT+V instead

Definitely a like! Most of the time when I try to follow videos like this on various topics, they ask me to use menu options that don't exist. Your video however, everything worked perfectly exactly as you described it! Great job! I wish more RUclips content providers were as detailed as you on how to set things up!

Reading through the comments. Just a tip if you're new like me, play the tutorial and do every step in real time, do it in bite size portions, it will work!

I followed these exact steps and all I get in the HACS entry in the sidebar is a list of repositories, with only one downloaded, HACS. No nice buttons for community store or integrations, just a straight up list with a black background with a single entry for a repository. Edit: Ok... apparently that's how it looks now. In just six months the info has changed so that if you pick advanced mode when installing, the HACS list looks completely different, to the point where it made me think something was broken, but it's just a list now you can filter instead. Maybe more powerful but definitely not what I expected based on the HACS videos I've seen, including this one.

Go back to the HACS integration configuration and untick experimental features - you should get the nice UI frontend back after that

Hi I have followed all the steps however after the installation and clicking on the side bar the HACS only show a repository name and the details there are no store and options like what your have shown any advise?

When i select HACS in the sidebar I don't get the menu that you do, mine just shows repository name: hacs; downloads (plus number); stars; updated and category. clicking on it just shows me a hacs page of what it can do with documentation. what have i done wrong?

hi, after HACS installntsion adn config, when I select HACS on the left manu, I do noth have the manu (integrations, frontend, ...). but a list and no button on bottom right. Why? how do I do?

I followed all your steps twice, and I always end up with the same problem, when I click on HACS like you at minute 5:19 I never reach the main page of the HA community, just a HACS repository webpage.

same here. and when i want to try download a theme (noctis for example) the download button doesnt do anything. Cleared cache/cookies etc. same issue.
Opend HA in a incognito tab (and closed the tab in the non incognito one) and now i get the previous interface instead of the long list

5:21 - i have now installed fresh HACS and i can see icon etc. However i can't see the screen you are showing - UI looks different and can't see node-red companion:(

I installed the HACS "successfully". But I can't see the page shown at 5:24 . instead, just a list of available repository name. I can't add any links. may I know how I can get the page at 5:24?

But when I click on the HACS icon on the left side, I still see the 4 round icons where I, among other things, can choose add-on, I just get the HACS icon - Repository Name. It's like it won't start. HACS version 1.34 and HA 2024.6.2

Hi, I am not able to install HACS since my ISP has blocked ports as they have double NAT. Hence when i wget i dont get any response. Request if there is any workaround in such situations. I've been able to form a tunnel using Cloudflare on a domain. Can we leverage this route for wget to pickup the HACS install?
Have installed HACS but when i open from the side bar - it bring to an info menu! Any ideas?

Wait a sec! Now, I will admit I am a total noob, novice and what ever is lower than those. I went down a path so that I could get PI Hole install and that meant without HAOS, but [and I haven't watched your video yet] saying that I can still install and have access to the Home Assistant Community Store?

I installed Home Assistant on a Mac M1 using the UTM, however I get an error when I tried to install the SSH. The error message that I get is the following: "Failed to install add-on
'AddonManager.install' blocked from execution, not enough free space (0.9GB) left on the device"... Any ideas.. I did increase the memory from 4GB to 8GB and I still got the same error.
when I paste into the Terminal and hit enter it does noting just set there???

didnt work when i entered myself, but did after copy and pasted the command
When I go to settings, I don't see any Add-ons option!
when you click the hacs button in the sidebar the menu is completely diffrent. no way to access the store
and when you click the button it just gives a description about hacs, not the addon store
Why HACS seems different from what is shown on your video?

After i entered the command it does nothing.nothing loads,What it could cause this?
The add-ons tab is no where to be found in my settings even after turning on advanced mode and rebooting. Please help.
Did you manage to resolve this? It sounds like it's a browser cache issue. Clearing your cache should do the trick :)
All works until i push on the HACS button on the side bar then i get a ! ERROR WHILE LOADING PAGE ENTRY come up

I am having issues getting hacs to load, I have tried many different ways to reinstall/uninstall it and no matter what I try it gives me errors in the log and will not load...

Hi Mark, I have followed your process and get to the point where HACS is activated on GitHub (4:40). However, the activation does not transfer to HA and I continue to get the blue spinning arrow. Any suggestions?

@@laurencelagden Yes I did. I had to try several computers/browsers to get the correct pop up to appear. I think it was because I had popups blocked.
hello all my integration gets stuck at this skreen 4:00 after i activate the code on github and return it just keeps spinning and spinning any idea why this mite be?
Try rolling back, use command: ha core update --version 2024.1.0 and reboot.

On my HA (2023.7.1) "Add-ons" does not appear in the "Settings" menu
Which version of HA are you running? (Instal method - HA OS, Supervised etc)
@@MarkWattTech Thanks for your swift reply . . my problem was having used the "app store" on the CASA OS operating on a Zimaboard . . I since ditched it, installed Proxmox & HAOS via that & then all is fine !
Doesn't work unless you are using the OS version or a Supervised version. This WILL NOT work if you are using Docker as there are no add-ons for this.
Docker has its own integration. “Container”

Control F5 does nothing for me. It literally just turns the brightness on the screen down because that’s what F5 does.
Well, I had this problem where after installing I didn't see those nice icons only HACS and if I clicked on it I saw some kind of release notes... it seems like you now have a search bar where a filter is applied by default to show only the downloaded. Just remove the filter and you will see all the integrations available... Hope this helps for someone
