There must be some mistake. 90 crore or 900 million is the total workforce of India(That means no working population is looking for job). And also the population of USA 33 crore or 330 million and Russia 144 million or 14 crore combined would be around 47.41 crore or 474.1 million. I think the figure is 9 crore or 90 million people are not looking for jobs.
You are right. We made an error here. The number is around 45 crore, not 90 crore. www.business-standard.com/article/economy-policy/india-s-job-market-going-into-greater-threat-people-no-more-look-for-work-122042500124_1.html
@@kabiramalhar2189 So, did some study and found that working age population (15-64 age) of India is 90 crore people. And Labour force participation rate is around 40% i.e, 36 crore. If we compare it with US or China the Labour force participation rate of US and China is around 65%. So to say, if we need to have a good Labour force participation rate we need around 60 crore people working in total out of 90 crore people. That means around 24 crore people are unemployed not looking for jobs at all (This might include children who are still studying, woman that are getting married (home maker), discouraged people due to fierce competition for mineal jobs and other problems mentioned by Mohak). India’s female labor force participation rate is around 25% when the global average is 47%. I don't know where this figure of 45 crore is coming from. Yeah, India's Labour force participation rate was 47% in 2016 and fallen down to 40% in December 2021. I think Covid played a big role here. Also, a big question arise - why these 7% people who were employed and working are not searching or returning back to job again?
The harsh fact is, in most of the private sectors jobs are extremely under paid.. And they will try to suck the life out of you for the little salary they are offering.. There is no strict labour laws in India.. So, it is quite natural that our youth is tending towards IT/Govt jobs..

Applied for jobs in atleast 100-200 job openings at automobile sector companies, got zero interview calls. But I get interview calls for sales profile every now and then. Especially from insurance companies, coaching companies etc. I rejected all of those offers. This is true for most people in engineering and science honours field. We do get offers but for sales profile which is the most unstable career option. Usually These companies will make you work for two months and then give you a giant sales target so that they can fire you and hire new guy. The bigger issue is dignity of labour. Abroad, it is perfectly fine and respectable to be a, say, carpenter or plumber, and they make a decent living. Agreed, pay is low in India, but some job is better than no job. In India, blue collar jobs are considered second rate, so even people with good skill sets remain without a good/ any income source. Our mindset needs a change. Unfortunately we all know this is not gonna happen.
I live in the Netherlands. Last week I wanted to lay flooring in my apartment. When I put the job online, I received many offers. Ultimately a freelance woman came to my house all alone, she did all the labour herself and she invoiced an acceptable fee. Her education was just up to school level, but she is financially independent. Can we expect this in India? No. A woman firstly will not be allowed to do a labour job, secondly such a job will be seen as below “khandaan ki izzat”. So yeah. Dignity of labour is EVERYTHING.

Good Governments create public sector jobs but more importantly, ensure the right conditions that incentivize free market investment. This may include anything from decent infrastructure, decent transportation for an efficient supply chain, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce, removing trade barriers, replacing bad regulatory frameworks with good ones, reducing bureaucracy and cronyism, ensuring there are no sectarian or intercommunal strife etc Thus far, the current government has failed quite miserably when it comes almost all of these aspects
Summary - Youth is lazy and dependent on government jobs. Govt is also lazy and depends on private orgs. Private orgs are run by scamsters. Scams lead to market instability. So job loss. Cycle.
Yes except that the lazy gov is eating up our taxes and doing noting so the public money is also declining and the bad investment is also less due to lack of infrastructure and really bad place to grow. So it's just sucking the life out of the poor who cannot afford another chance (those who cannot afford their kids long term education and a possible alternative to gov jobs) which would eventually force them to do a small wage non flexible and unguaranteed chair (job) for their rest of their miserable lives.

Problem with india is much deeper and fundamental. India was never been ready for industrialization and globalisation. In the past we were self dependent and had enough resources to feed entire population but industrial revolution did take away indias main strength i.e shear man power/ skilled artisan jobs. automation not only reduces the job opportunity but also shift it towards higher spectrum where only highly educated can be got employed surely india has found no place in this transformation which left us incompetent.
That self dependency means to live in an agricultural, weak and less developed society. To be nostalgic about that is like living in fool's paradise. Industrialization is good and Gujrat, Maharashtra, TN e.t.c are testimony to that.

Dude Mohak kindly mention that everyone do their own research about UpGrad - cause they have few issues , I understand they might have sponsored this video but you need to make it as clear as it is a Sponsored ad but not as recommendation. provide viewers good info with caution. There isn't any placements in Upgrad. But what they promise is they would assist fellow learners in getting placed. It is very important to understand the difference between Guaranteeing Placements Vs Providing Placement Assistance. No offense but this I think is very much needed for any sponsors you might endorse them in your future videos.
He did clearly mention that it's a upgrad sponsored video @7:20. Also, i don't think anybody can guarantee placements (not even IITs/IIMs) as it all depends on the learner. The institutes who mentions guaranteed placements comes with lot of terms and conditions.
Of course, any student interested in enrolling in Upgrad's programmes will inquire about their learning and placement programme ahead of time. No one's gonna just pay so much money without being assured of the quality of education and job offers they're gonna get.

indian economy was on decline since 2010-11 because many scams came in front of people because of which many companies stopped giving tenders to government companies which later made companies inefficient to work. And even during early 2000s boom in IT sectors was in urban areas or areas near those places and the work most of the people from rural areas were getting was just labour which will never be for forever. 🚶🚶🚶

Good jobs mean secure jobs. It doesn't mean IT jobs. An IT job can also be a bad job if it doesn't have social security in it like health insurance, EPF and less firing rate. If daily wage labourers get EPF and health insurance atleast then those jobs will also be counted as good jobs but for that to happen those jobs must be organised first.

India lacks quality private sector jobs for its millions of unskilled or semi skilled mass graduates and under graduates because unlike China, Vietnam, Combodia, Malaysia and Bangladesh, India did not have any export oriented labour intensive manufacturing industries which can provide mass employments to millions of unskilled and semi skilled graduates and under graduates of India.

Your content is just golden. Absolutely amazing. But I kind of disagree to the point that people not getting employed are the people who did not upskill themselves. Even students of professional courses can’t find jobs because there simply isn’t enough jobs available in the economy (a point you did make later on). Due to huge population and heavy competition, it’s not just about up skilling yourself. You need to be so superbly skilled that you are in the top 1% to actually land a job.
I do believe that work force participation has decreased. But this number of 90 Crore seems overly inflated. When entire workforce itself is around that number.
In India there are 2 crore government jobs, 2 crore in Technology & Medical field jobs, 1 crore in Management or Business Jobs. Total of 5 crore are formal. Rest all are doing informal jobs.
I mean its a gradual process to earn fame. so as long as you are not well settled you will be labelled as a 'generation nowhere' and these jobs are also not very secure or reliable.
The major problem is a JOB availability. There is demand for job creators . Earning through youtube or any other online platform is again an individual earning , on the other hand a large population is just consuming their content all day long.
In mid 2000s, when I was in my early 20s, I could get a BPO job in a city like Bangalore with just a basic graduation. These jobs required very basic skills and paid alright for those days. With the passage of time, even these companies which used to give basic outsourced jobs have started to think big. They are getting into analytics than just processing. These days they want young people with far more skills than just a graduation. Just that degree certificate won't do. Upskilling is so very important. That too relevant skills. Getting a job a a combination of various things. You should have the right skills and experience plus the company should also be desperately looking to fill that position. If you have a reference in the company, that'll make things a bit easier. In the end, it comes to three words - SKILLS, SKILLS and SKILLS. If you have skills, you won't be hidden for too long.

That means around 24 crore people are unemployed not looking for jobs at all (This might include children who are still studying, woman that are getting married (home maker), discouraged people due to fierce competition for mineal jobs and other problems mentioned by Mohak).

While entrepreneurship per se is not a bad thing, it can become quite stressful and challenging.
The way it is being glamourised-by the media's focus on the small number of successful entrepreneurial ventures, while ignoring the large number of ones that do not succeed-a lot of unrealistic expectations are created and stoked in the minds of the youth.

Good Governments create public sector jobs but more importantly, ensure the right conditions that incentivize free market investment.
This may include anything from decent infrastructure, decent transportation for an efficient supply chain, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce, removing trade barriers, replacing bad regulatory frameworks with good ones, reducing bureaucracy and cronyism, ensuring there are no sectarian or intercommunal strife etc
Thus far, the current government has failed quite miserably when it comes almost all of these aspects

True. Jobs in IT sector are crazy right now. You can get packages around 20LPA, straight out of college and you don't even have to be from IIT.
What you are advocating is the pre-globalization( before 1991) type India. Basically government control on all business. Labour unions are the biggest reason for less companies and market jobs.
Industrial revolution happened nuch before liberalization.

This is the problem not only in India but the whole world... industrialization do have some serious effect....
That self dependency means to live in an agricultural, weak and less developed society. To be nostalgic about that is like living in fool's paradise. Industrialization is good and Gujrat, Maharashtra, TN e.t.c are testimony to that.

This is the primary reason that India is still lagging behind. As these govt employees have no fear of losing their jobs, they become lazy, inefficient and ineffective. Everybody knows this. And this is main reason why public sectors are lagging far behind from private sectors. Govt should try to come up with some ways to pin point these lazy workers and get them fired or have their salary cut.

And let me tell you. Even after a year of enrolling in their digital marketing programme, I continue to receive placement offers on Upgrad's platform.
Rather, getting placement is entirely dependent on the learner's performance in their assignments and how well they prepare for the interview.
I took an educational loan to enrol in their MICA University, Ahemdabad's digital marketing programme, but due to family obligations, I was unable to complete the programme on time. As a result, I did not apply for any jobs.

Indians are moving more towards entrepreneurship and start ups.. which is a great +ve change. Also, i read an article that predicted this trend in "THE HINDU" almost 3-4 years ago.. tabse hi humara jobs se bharosa uthh chuka hai

I think main root problem is illiteracy itself and it will take at least 15 yrs if we start working on this from today
also we need young and non greedy politicians
Most highly educated people end up voting for uneducated thugs across state and party lines. This is the big problem with our democracy at present. We elect kings who aren't even as educated as the common graduate, on any topic, let alone administration.

I see many people ranting about people's thinking of govt. jobs and not promoting entrepreneurship
But I want to tell you that entrepreneurship cannot solve the problem of unemployment as most of the start ups in India are IT based and also service based and jobs in service sector are always going to be lesser
What India needs is growth in Manufacturing sector because it is the most job giving sector and problem in India is it has moved from Primary to Tertiary based economy there was no industrial revolution in India and most of the developed economies move from primary to secondary and then to tertiary but India skipped the middle step
Contribution of Manufacturing sector has been decreasing slowly from past few years and thus there is no hope from the current govt. to tackle this problem
This is really informative videos and you are doing great job brother. ❤️

@Ranjeet Kumar It is a known fact that unemployment rate was way lesser pre 2014
indian economy was on decline since 2010-11 because many scams came in front of people because of which many companies stopped giving tenders to government companies which later made companies inefficient to work.
And even during early 2000s boom in IT sectors was in urban areas or areas near those places and the work most of the people from rural areas were getting was just labour which will never be for forever.

Thats pathetic bro
Well you know what CTO of Bajaj discovered when he went to premiere institutions like IITs & NITs...... He couldn't find 20 candidates in all IITs & NITs who had proper knowledge to even become an Mechanical Engineer....... Most of these MEs are interested in higher paying jobs of IT sector, these students don't even study for their core subject.........
@@manishkumarpandey9702
in which year?
Bajaj came for the profile of sales here(total 7 posts)
Even 2 post which were proper mech job(designing) - had CTC less than the sales one which they offered
It's still demand and supply - they don't need 100 designer, they have plenty of it,what they need is someone who can sell
There is not enough job for mech guys (actual mech profile) and those who got placed, have their CTC like 3-4 lakhs - these guys devote money and resources in learning programming relevant to mech, designing, theoretical knowledge relevant to designing - these are not easy, these are highly intensive domain and the material for these is also not adequately available on internet (in compared to IT)
After spending this much money on college fees and coaching (for gate and learning softwares relevant to mech),who would like to be paid 3-4 lakhs??
It's harder to hone skills in mech, civil as it is not like that IT you have a computer and you can spend time on it - learn job ready knowledge
Same is not applicable for mech, civil
The person can learn the job ready knowledge at the site only - these companies are not ready to spend on it
Even guys in mech who do intership in mech, civil either do for free or even by paying money to the employer
The pathetic situation of mech, civil or other core branches - is more than the quality of mech engineers
There brilliant mech students having excellent domain knowledge(and only those can find work as there is no need of average mech students unlike IT) - and those like 2 guys which I mentioned earlier, same is true for all the college's(atleast most of)
See the biotech guy situation - these guys have to data analyst job at pharmaceutical companies as the domain knowledge they have at graduate will not help adding value to the company (that's what the company thinks)
It's not their mistake(neither they are dumb and stupid compared to IT guys) - it's the situation itself
@@manishkumarpandey9702 Why should they study there core subjects. What salary is Bajaj offering. All core jobs require you to put much more effort and studies to get a job that pays less than half the money of a software job.

It's not the case now since the private sector has grown tremendously these years, there is another big company, a unicorn company every week who pay well and hire more people everyday, unfortunately there isn't any data in private sector, or else you would not say that, you can search it as well..
