I was just thinking that!
I used to lay in the grass and watch the clouds. My mom used to say that if you watch the clouds long enough God will give you one that looks like something. So we would lay in the grass for hours watching and making out shapes and just talking and having fun and laughing. Those were the best times with my sister. 💗
I wonder if, years from now, Benjamin will have young memories of his mommy talking to herself out in the garden.

Lol, Benjamin is so adorable! My mom nick named me "Dirty Gertie" when I was a child because I was always covered head to toe in dirt lol. Loved playing in the dirt digging, mud pies or just whatever. God made dirt & dirt don't hurt! That's my philosophy lol.
Amen! My daughter has a master’s degree in early childhood development and she would whole heartedly agree. It helps develop the immune system.

One of my favorite videos by far! Reminds me of planting seeds with my kids when they were that age. Now at 16 & 13 they start their own seeds by themselves every year and maintain our vegetable gardens!
Such a great skill to teach kids.
Laura, watching you teach Benjamin is such a joy! It brings back so many happy memories of time spent in my grandparents garden. He may not grow up to be a gardener but he will always remember his mother’s patient lessons.

Love to see a child playing in the dirt. Whether it’s in the garden or it’s in the backyard just playing in the dirt it’s so good for them and Benjamin looks like he’s having a great time. I can tell he hasn’t played in the dirt too often he doesn’t like to have an on his hands.

Was hoping for this video today! I'm starting my snapdragon for the first time this morning. My trays are 1.5" instead of 2", will I have to transplant? Or is that size enough to get them ready for outside?

Benjamin is the perfect age for learning about gardening. Kids pick up SO MUCH from being little helpers. My boys are 45 and 42 now and they always say, "I remember when you let us help you (plant seeds, make cookies, paint, etc.) It also can build a foundation for learning and exploring new hobbies/skills as kids grow older. Way to go, Laura. You are such a sweet and caring mommy.

Every mother's heart had to be doing 50 or more quick " pitter" "patters" as we all watched Benjamin ready the soil with you and then help you plant. He is very loving, kind, and genuinely there with you through the process....to the end with going again for the water bottle....not complaining....to get that one tray done was amazing....start to finish. What a 💕

I started the same Dahlia seeds 2 weeks ago and I had 100% germination! They are very easy to grow!
