You can't bring anything with you and can only go to select places you have been to already. I find I rarely use it because if I need to go somewhere I want to be taking deliveries to places along the way.
I mean what fun is fast travel in a kojima game? You'd rather walk and run everywhere cause you can find much more stuff like in mgs. If you just "fast travelled" you'd miss much needed items and containers

@@justjayde2901 i thought the same when i played about her being his daughter and as to Jacks reaction, imo it really doesn't help that the voice actor either doesn't or barely understands English, the emotion of her performance just does not convey the emotion the words/situation call for. I get that the actress is really big in Japan, but have her do the Japanese localization and then hire a Japanese-American va for the English localization. This whole quest line fell flat for me on my playthrough because of those two things (the unclear setup and emotionless va)

If it was damaged badly wouldnt it have said "more than 50% damaged"? I think saying less than makes it only 3% damaged
@@antwannloser7848 if you look at other menu's where he gets S rank, the package will show like 0% or 10% or a small number. The "less then 50%" is just a titled criteria where as the actual number is the true percentage of damage incurred.

mariam saleh it’s 97% damaged, not 97% of full health. 97% damage = 3 % health. Less than 50% damage means it needs to be MORE than 50% health. 3% is much less than 50% health. Hence the C.
A looooot of stuff about this game makes sense after 2020. The delivery, the not going out to greet the deliveryman, being there through calls and holograms... every time Jack says something about it I just go "oh my sweet summer child... you have no clue"
It's not a game for introverts, Sean. It's a game that was six months ahead of its time. Delivery people truly are important these days and we're not supposed to see them.

I think what Kojima was trying to convey in terms of "delivering" was that in our whole life we are constantly delivering. In school we have to deliver our assignments, as we reached adulthood we have to deliver for our family, at work we deliver ideas over projects over and over again. The unending cycle of constant grinding on delivering quality work is what defines us as humans in a sad way. Sean like you, you are constantly delivering videos for us to enjoy everyday!
The packages may represents the burden we have throughout our every path and we have to balance ourselves to not topple over the sheer weight of these burdens. Even if you fall, you can always pick yourself up. It also somehow come across in the game when you take up way too much that you can handle, there are always tools or equipment that would help lessen the burden. The journey to all the distro station would simply translate to the journey we faced to reach our milestones. When we do reached them, there are people there to cheer you on.
WE are being delivered to this world to deliver for a better world. It's a cheesy concept but I think that's what Kojima was trying to potray in the game.

on Aug 29, 2021 in an interview with AdoroCinema, Norman Reedus - who voices the main character Sam Porter Bridges in Death Stranding - has stated that a sequel is planned and currently in very early stage of game production :D
A trailer dropped recently! It's why I'm finally watching a playthrough. I've had it on my steam wish list for over a year now and I know I'm not getting it anytime soon and I never finished watching the other 2 or 3 times I tried to get into the series here. Furthest I've ever made it and determined to reach the end out of sheer curiosity though it does feel like a game I would get much deeper into playing it myself. Like, watching Sean play it, is making me almost crave playing. But even if I had the money, my laptop is currently not in a good state (needs its fans replaced) I have all the parts to fix it but apparently when it was made, some of the screws inside got stripped and I can't take it apart to get to my fans. I have to send it in when I get the chance and hope they can fix it for me as I can't afford a new laptop and I have no warranty, and if I did, it'd have expired by now. (Though its needed a repair for over a year and back when I first needed one, I would have still been protected by warranty. I barely had enough money to buy the laptop, and didn't have the money to buy the warranty with it sadly, so it only came with a 30 day warranty through Amazon. The seller did link me to the parts when I reached out to them so I'd get the right parts to fix it since they couldn't help me any other way.)

I think the dialogue is meant to sound preachy and superficial because the “connections” being formed by the UCA are part of a predesigned system. Rather than being a natural process of people actually meeting in person, it’s a bond held together by machines that tries to embody the values and ideals of real human connection. It strikes me how all the interactions you have with people outside of the main characters are with holograms rather than actual flesh and blood. I’m just along for this ride and I haven’t finished the game myself, but the contrast being drawn between the manufactured UCA symbolism and the naturalistic, raw imagery of the beach and the BBs feels intentional.

I think it's more that Kojima's generally bad at writing dialogue that sounds natural and organic for each character (everything sounds like it's coming from the same brain) and the world he's trying to set up is so overly convoluted that it requires these long exposition dumps to even attempt to convey what he's trying to convey.

Jack, a theory on why "delivering" is such a big aspect in this game: probably from the Japanese word used for "delivery". The word is "todokeru"(届ける). ex) "Nimotsu(baggage) o (for) todokeru (take to ~)" > Deliver the baggage. The thing is we also use this "todokeru" for concepts and emotion. So we can also say " Omoi(good feelings) o (for) todokeru(take to)" > Convey one's love. "Kotoba(words) o (for) todokeru(take to ~)> Bring the word/message. "Todokeru(delivery)" and "Tsunagaru(connect)" are words often used in a similar aspect for the Japanese, it make more sense to us as to what Kojimasan wants us to understand. But when translated it probably loses that feeling. Your good friend might explain it better so maybe ask her? Well, my two cents(or yen). Love your videos as always!

I had a delivery driver today park up outside my house, and just sit there, waiting. I had a scheduled delivery and they turned up 3 minutes early, they knocked on the door about 1 second before the delivery slot started. I think that delivery driver was even more conscientious than Sean.

That's literally what his job is; his job, for decades, has been to deliver a quality product to people, even when he doesn't want to (I remember reading something that said Kojima considered MGS finished after the events of MGS3, but Konami wanted more so he made 4 and then 5 to flesh out the story even more when it wasn't necessary; I can't find the article anymore, sadly)

Most of the segments where the characters call you would feel less preachy if Sam would talk back and make it a full or short conversastion. It would make it feel less like force feeding us already fed information too

It's december 5th 2021 and I decided to rewatch this series, well I have it on in the back ground as I clean and shit, but just hearing him talk about things and seeing how the characters in the game stay inside all the time and hearing his commentary is just, kinda funny knowing what the world has come to now and what it's been through, like when he was talking about how weird he thought the whole delivery culture thing was just made so hard given just how important mail and deliveries have become.

About the liking system in the game: I think it makes sense to have them for the signs, but ropes, ladders, etc should instead let you know how many people USED them
You actually get notifications alot when people use them. Sean is not connected online though so he missed alot of what the game is about. Also he delivers lost cargo on other places. You can do this but that means other players will deliver them. Again he is offline so it never gets delivered.

The like system is fine it never felt like a competition if anything aside from a few dark souls like signs saying it's safe near a BT area, highly liked objects usually just proved useful to other players. Plus it let's you know that something you made was of use to someone else, personally I remember making essentially a massive climbing rope chain down a mountain side that seemingly helped a lot of people and it's a nice little feeling.
1:35:25 Sometimes it amazes me how little Jack notices things. Don't get me wrong, I love the pasty bastard, but he must be some exotic brand of blind to not notice a timefall was happening and his hood was already up.

Please don’t. I’m gonna cry
I really like the detail that went into that girl's animations during the timefall. When Jack walked Sam down a hill and he bent his body for the incline, it exposed her face more to the timefall. She turned her head to keep the timefall off her face, and when he turned to check the area, she kept turning her head away from the direction of the wind. The dynamic weather and character movement variables makes that really difficult to pull off, but she never *once* looked like she should've been hit by it. Little things like that are super immersive and cool
