    I wish I had seen that video before installing my tires, 265/70.16 on a 2015 AWD I am still stock suspension tho and the tires still rub against the lower control arm subframe. Waiting on new rims to deport a little and probably will go with the full 2.0 kit for next spring. Thank you so much for making those videos.

    Great video. I’m torn between ordering a new sprinter and transit. Sprinter because based on others in the van life , it appears we have more lift options. Can any one tell me if that’s true ? Would really like to run a 265 x 18 if possible and it seems it won’t be possible on the new AWD Transit.

    Thanks, VC. How much trimming is needed to run a 265/75/16 on a Transit with Quigley 4x4 (as you know, a 2" lift is already incorporated into the Quigley 4x4 setup). I'm presently running a 245/65/16 (did not have to trim), and would like to go larger.

    Great guys! I just ordered my Transit with the front plastic wheel liners. I'm guessing they wont work with 265 tires ? Thanks

    What would be the max tire size for the T350 HD dually, with the narrow rear wheel spacing preventing wider tires? That would likely be more of a constraint than the seam weld? Also, I see the 2020 T350 HD now has two different tire sizes, front and back, per Ford website? I’ve got one on order... Great job on this upgrade.

      Hey David, I've got a 2022 dually awd on order...what did you end up doing with yours? did you lift and upgrade tires? if so what did you decide upon. thanks, Kevin

    @vancompass Do you recommend upgrading the rear gears to help handle the larger tires? I currently have the 3.31lsd on my Transit 250.

    What tire at 265 width did you find to fit the 6.5J wheels?

    So I'm guessing that going over bumps with snow chains on could ruin stuff.

    Hey @Van Compass LLC, I just ordered my 2020 AWD, what size tire can you run without trimming? I do not intend to do significant off road, but would like the lift and slight tire upsize for dirt roads. I will also likely use a 17" rim as i do not need as mush sidewall and it will handle better on the highway which is 90% of my use. I need the AWD mostly for winter ski camping conditions.

    Does the Transit AWD system still make use of the PTU (power transfer/takeoff) unit? They have been prone to overheating and potentially the seal failing. The Ecoboost is still transverse mounted in the Transit that would require the PTU system, is it not? Perhaps they have re-engineered the PTU or beefed it up a bit to handle the requirements of a Transit based RV (or even a delivery van configuration.)

    • @phredocassera2939
      @phredocassera2939 4 года назад +1

      No PTU in a Transit.. uses a longitudinal engine configuration.. like an F-150 pickup.. not like a Flex or other FWD based AWD.

      @@phredocassera2939 Yes. I did a little more research and found that they have mounted the 3.5 Ecoboost longitudinally. That's great news. I think the AWD chassis with the 3.5Eco and a small (2"-3") lift is almost ideal. Thanks for responding!!

      Clearance. Stock 235/65R16 vs 265/75R16 is 28" vs 31.6", so you get a 1.8" more clearance.

    I can't believe the designers at Ford made the 2020 Transit AWD the same height as the 2WD. Morons!

    • @phredocassera2939
      @phredocassera2939 4 года назад +1

      If the AWD was taller it would have to go through crash testing and avoidance for NHTSA again because of the raised center of gravity... Besides, with a wheelbase this long.. it is never gonna be a rock crawler, just a poor conditions vehicle..
      I have driven a 4x4 Sprinter.. it doesn’t handle as well on the road as a 2wd Sprinter by any stretch.

      The transit is designed to be a delivery truck so the low entry is easier to get in and out all day. I wish they would make 2 different ride heights.
