I think he just want United fans to be consistent. For years when Man City and Arsenal were winning the Leage and FA cup. United fans bantered them and called the trophies tinpot and Mickey Mouse. Now they are relevant again because they win them.

@@jackhewitt600 we've never claimed were better than city in recent years. However we have achieved more than arsenal's 5 years with arteta in 2 with eth that's just a fact because ultimately end of the season it's the trophies that count. Those years arsenal were just winning fa cups we were still winning trophies it's not the same. Hope that clears it up for you. 👍

No one gave Utd a chance. I knew we would get one over City, as there would bound to be some anger when Last Year we gave them the treble without laying a glove on them.
I just felt no Gundogan, Mahrez, Cancelo City looked gettable. But no Utd gave us a prayer, even I thought City meet beat us 4-1 on the day after feeling confident the night before

@@fourghtyeight48 from a tactical perspective, the Liverpool game was an awful game. Both of the old Trafford fixtures vs the scouser were tactically horrendous. Absolute chaos with no organisation whatsoever. As an afternoon's tv, it was OK to watch purely from the drama of it all. But if you consider that a good performance from a footballing view then you simply have no idea how to watch football. We were equally as unstructured in the win against Chelsea early in the season and idiots were saying that was a great performance too. It wasn't. Playing like Ian Holloways Blackpool is not a foundation for success in the long term. When we play this way it's just as likely we'll get beat 3 nil than we are to win it.
As I've said, the only good performance i.e a professional, tactical, planned approach to the game, for the entire season, was the fa cup final. Everything else was clueless "playing on vibes" bullshit that 7hag and Solskjaer were known for

Given the amount Geordie made of injuries for Newcastle. Man Utd had the most injuries in the league and had something mad like 40 different centre back pairings. Even casemiro and kambwala paired up at times. A youth player and CDM.
Mouth spent most of his season injured, they had one true striker in Hojlund all season.
The season started with the Greenwood question, then the Sancho issue, the takeover saga, Rashfords car crash season literally involving a car crash and a little Belfast trip.
There's enough legitimate reasons for the struggle. It definitely could have been better but I think Man United fans need to trust the process. Just like Arsenal had too. It even took Klopps four seasons to pick up a trophy, I don't remember any of this for him.

Even someone who has rich depth in squad like Pep is spoilt with 100 mil transfers that are rotting on bench and is in market for defenders every fucking year. Better youth players will come to Man UTd because w E have a manager who believes if you are good enough you old enough ! Very happy with this. United finished in a false position for our starting 11 and bench. Problem was we had our worst injury crisis in our entire history. But Brain wants focus on our 'worst year' in Premier league but ignores that. The year with ole and rangnick was worst. Same amount of points, no trophy. but anyway. No one had amount of injuries we had, no one. 70+ in 1 season, ridiculous. That's almost 2 injuries every game week. The city game was arguably our best game this season, and what's the difference from previous games? We had our 1st choice centre backs who aren't match fit. I rest my case. Our 2 best performances this season are city and wolves, and guess what. Wolves was only other game we had them as well. Liverpool in FA cup was probably 3rd but that was pure chaos from both teams. Injuries make a massive difference, and normally AREN'T a excuse but this season for us, is extremely far from normal.
Then you add in off field drama with rashford, Anthony, greenwood and etc. Then you add in sale of club, the ceo going, the sporting director going, the complete blanking of the Jan window (again), the letting go of our only fit LB back to spurs. The way inos have let Erik deal with everything with no help or backing at all, publicly at least. There's been soo much it's been relentless and I'm probably forgetting something. Name me one manager who can deal with all that, within thier first 2 seasons, and still get anywhere near their season targets set at start of season. Name me one, I'll wait. Prime fergie wouldn't do it, not a chance. Sometimes you just have to go, it's too much for anyone to handle and write it off. But fact he still delivered us Europe and a cup. Hats off to him. And it's not one game, we had beat Liverpool to get there, which no one thought we do as well. Myself included.
Reasons why we are positive are simple, this season is a write off. Next season we aren't getting the same amount of injuries, if we do then fuck me we are screwed. But with some more signings with proper help behind him, selling of some deadwood. More time to get his ideas across to players, next season we are getting top 4. And potentially a trophy as well. Potentially. As for signings thing brain keeps bringing up, hardly any manager has a better success rate of 50%. Hardly any, that's the standard to go by. Pep, klopp, fergie have had many failed signings. You ain't going win them all. Martinez is our most important ten Hag signing, period. We play totally different without him.
Edit: What I forgot to mention. We've had over 30 cb combos, let that sink in. We've had no fit LB, all season as even the loan LB got injured. How you supposed to build the foundation, form partnerships between cbs, fullbacks and wingers, defenders and midfielders, when it changes all the time. Not to mention 1 striker and at times 0 strikers. Teams are built on the defence and ours has changed every game, every game. And that not being down to form or fatigue.
Also sancho drama as well. You have give Erik credit for youth players coming through as not all managers use them. Jose wouldn't have. Fans want trophies, board want Europe, both groups want youth players. Erik has delivered on all three, that's why fans want him. With Pep going next season, we'll be in Erik 4th year by then. We should be ready to challenge by then, if we sack and get a new guy. Forget it, we won't be ready. Managers need 4-5 years to build thier own squad, fact. Unless you got money to burn to do it in less. Speaking of money, Erik didn't spend all this money, he asked for players he wanted. It was Arnold and Murtough who spent half summer trying get a player that didnt want to come in spain. Then go to italy to try get a free player to join and failed. Then panicked bought players for over the odds. We would have got Anthony for half the price if we tried sooner. We would have got Martinez for 15m cheaper for sane reason. How long did we spend on trying get mount when both teams wanted it and the player. If we had good people around Erik we would spent at least 80m less last summer, 45m on anthony, 15m on Martinez, 10m on Casemiro, 10m on mount. And maybe we wouldn't have gone for a gk. But it's past now we move on. Arteta finished 8th, twice, 1 trophy. And we're right to stick with him. Erik has finished 3rd and 8th, 2 trophies...... and with that bombshell, goodbye.
