[Errata: In the early part of the video, I wrote recurrent function instead of recurrent infections. Please keep this in mind while studying.]
*It is an insidious, progressive, degenerative disease of the neurons.
*Alzheimer's incidence is increasing in developed nations.
*Alzheimer's disease is one of the most costly diseases to manage. Continuous care is needed, recurrent infections and dehydration are common.
Dr. Mobeen presents the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease. Following topics are discussed:
Anterolateral amnesia. (Loss of forming new memories.)
Speech disorders.
Mood imbalance.
Disruption of the executive functions of the brain. (Difficulty with decision making.)
Initiates at the Hippocampus.
Genes involved:
1-14 - Senilin
11 - SDLR1
21 - APP
19 - ApoE4
Alzheimer's can be early onset or late onset. Genes 19 and 21 are involved in the early onset Alzheimer's.
*Tau protein's role.
*Beta amyloid's pathologies. (A-Beta lipoprotein.)
*Role of alpha, beta, and gamma-secretase.
*Formation of senile plaques due to the beta and gamma-secretase action instead of alpha and beta-secretase.
*Immune system activation due to the senile plaque formation.
*Destruction of the brain tissue due to the inflammatory reaction due to the senile plaques.
*Clogging of the neural synapses by the senile plaque proteins.
*Loss of cytoskeletal integrity due to the disruption of the Tau proteins.
*Disruption of the nutrients flow from the neuronal cell body to the axonal terminal.
*Formation of the Tau aggregates.
*ApoE-4 gene's role is discussed.
*Widening of the sulci and gyri as a result of the degeneration is presented.
*Role of increased load of the APP protein or the gene up regulation forming APP. ...

I am not a student ,but my mother's sadly has Alzheimers ,I feel I have learnt something from this lecture, I now have a better understanding of what's actually happening. I thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I am studying Dementia Disease at the moment and your explanations was a blessing. Thanks a million.
This is amazing! You definitely have a talent for teaching, thank you for making this available!!
Sir I follow ur immunology lectures ur anatomy and physiology lectures as well
Am in mbbs first year
Ur explanations helped me lot ND u know wt the cut copy paste of ur presentations in mine brought me many applause from my Dean as well.. Everyone in my college treat me as one of the most intelligent doctors but only I know it's only bcoz of u
Thanq so much sir
Thanq is a word which is not really enough to describe ur help but I can promise you that someday I will be a good doctor
But still it's bcoz of u
I am very happy for your passion for education my friend. I am also happy that we are adding value to your study sessions and then your professional career. Stay blessed and keep studying well.
Stay in touch. I know you will be a great doctor.

Excellent lecture! I was just listening to it, not even watching it and I still managed to understand everything through audio alone. Thank you very much!
Good to know. Thank you for your feedback.
The BEST VIDEO AVAILABLE!!! This gentlemen Covers everything related to Alzheimer s from genes to pathology. Awesome presentation!
Thank you for your kind note. This is an important topic and I wanted to make sure that the lecture contains sufficient material to allow good understanding of the currently known aspects of this disease. Hope we will have breakthroughs in this area soon.
Ur explanation helped made me understand a lot of holes in other lecturers explanations on the whole progression of alzheimers onset in an individual. Thank you so much!! Info will now be in my head for my final exam :)
Thanks for your teaching, you really help me to understand Alzheimer's pathology
Glad to be of help.
"Neuroplasticity" we need to work on this by Integrative Medicine Concept.God Bless You all
Very reliable explanation; easy to understand ;best alzeimer lecture ever on youtube...you make every point clear sir;thanks for helping us sir....☺
Thanks you so much for this lecture, much love from Ecuador.
You are simply great. You made it so easy. I am your apprentice from now
Detailed and easy to follow explanations! Thank you
Thanks for this great lecture, it makes me clear with AD 👍🏻
Good to know. Check out more lectures on drbeen.com.
Study well my friend.
Mobeen
amazing lecture
thank you and keep up the good work sir, you have my support
Great lecture, Thanks Mr. Just one thing, isn't it supposed to be hyperphosphorylation of TAU protein rather than hyperpolarization?
Agree
What an amazing teacher! You are a hero and this is the best video on yt. I am amazed
Best explanation of Alzheimer's ever..thanku so much you save my time 👌
Wow! Your explanation was so amazingly clear! Thank you so much!
Another point....the focus of the camera should be right on the board so that students can have a closer look at what is being written/drawn....sorry...I'm going to lecture on neurodegenerative diseases and am watching these videos for tips...:\...
best teacher ever.... thank you so much sir
This is a very detailed explanation! Thank you so much ! Amazing 🙌🏻🙏🏻
Excellent Lecture, much appreciated. Thank you.
Sir asalamualaikum myself dr tahir ansari from gsvm medical college kanpur up india & my view for your lecture that your lecture erase my false concept about plage nad tau protein jajakkallah sir ji
Thank you dear for your note. I am happy that this important concept is cleared. Study well and be a great doctor. My work and my best wishes are with you.
Very well explained Alzheimer condition sir, it was superb lecture.
Thnku sir to clear the concept about Alzheimer's pathophysiology .... Thanks a lot
Sir can u suggest some papers on recent discoveries regarding Alzheimer's disease pathophysiology in brain.great video ,helps n research purposes
Great lecture! One comment however. ApoE4 does not guarantee Alzheimer's disease. It is a strong genetic risk factor that has been shown to contribute to virtually all aspects of AD. However, a patient can die with ApoE4 and not have been diagnosed with AD or show symptoms of AD. Additionally, the data linking ApoE4 to gamma secretase is lacking in the recent literature. Also, SORL1 is a genetic risk factor not a cause for AD.
Thank you for adding value for our viewers :-)
Amazing clarity.
Thank you dear. Check drbeen.com for more lectures.
Thanku sir it's very helpful to understand this topic completely.
You are most welcome!
Sir please upload diabetes types and management lectures please ...soon,
These are already on drbeen.com. Please check there.
Sir. How does alcohol, smoking and other environmental factors causes pathophysiology of AD
Great explanation Sir! However I couldn’t understand what are neurofibrillary tangles exactly? They are bunch of dead neurons or tau protein aggregates?
Awesome! Thank you so much!
+Giovanna welcome.
Thank you sir,it helped me a lot
Very good presentation sir
My question is why APP is present in neurons because ultimately it get digested by secretase enzymes
Excellent explanation
Respect from Pakistan
Thank You Sir,
Welcome. Did you check the rest of the nervous system lectures on drbeen.com?
Sir, then how to prevent this abnormal process of Aβ.., is there any relevant solution present.., ?? or after the detection of AD what are those processes to follow for the cure..., I am a research scholar and I'm working on the biosensor part to detect AD. I'm a physics student and I don't know much of the biological activities of AD. but then this lecture helps me a lot..,
so thank you so much for the valuable lecture. It is surely a beneficent one for me!!
Thank You so much, Sir!!!
thanq sir nice presentation & can we have an other presentation on MALARIAL AGENTS
Sir i have a query that is why Alzheimer's disease develop first in hippocampus region ????
Excellent lecture it's was great to see your lecture
Thank you, dear. Did you check drbeen.com/courses yet? We have tons of more lectures there.
Helpful lecture, but do you mean INSIDIOUS at @0:49 ?
Thank you
Love from nepal🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵
why there is a difference between the direction of senile plaqs nd tangles??? kindly let me know sir.
Does Beta amyloid Protein is lipo-protein, if yes what is the lipid part in this. Secondly, how the amyloid proteins are pulled out and deposited as senile plaques means what would be the mechanism for coming out and deposited externally as senile (amyloid) plaques.
Sir I want free lecture of diabetes... And there need balance .
Grt explanation
Thank you.
Plzz sir make short time vedio
Have you watched our latest short videos?
Is it hyper polarization or hyper phosphorylation and does Tau is the integral part of micro-tubules.
Ramesh Kandimalla hyper polarization
thank u sir!!!
so nice
why Alzheimer's disease starts in the hippocampus?
Review the lecture :-)
Are you Dr.Najeeb's brother?
Yes. I am his younger brother :-)
Drbeen Medical Lectures You taught Alzheimer's disease extremely well. Thank you!
Good to know. Thank you for your feedback.
sir leecture is nice but try to make more intractive ,,,its seems littlebit boring
I disagree, it gives you time to follow better. The presentation is still interesting.
then watch songs may be you will find the entertainment..
yeah if only someone could make alzheimer's FUN!!
Thankyou sir
It's very clear explanation
Sorry...good lecture....but it seems the lecturer has mistakenly written recurrent functions instead of recurrent infections.....
Good catch. I wrote function instead of infection.
Hi, thanks for the video. I was wondering when the cell gets destroyed through the combined work of amyloid plaque and tau tangles, what remains. Does the neuron itself disappear leaving the tau tangles and amyloid plaque behind? Or does the neuron body remain, like dead debris in the brain?
sir plz make videos on cell injury and inflammation also....u r videos are super hit
This is very nice cover. Lipophagic dysfunction in AD would also be a chapter here.
İts amazing
Thank you very much Dr. From İraq
You are very welcome. Love from the USA.
Sir upto yet lecture is not uploaded of diabetes management ...and sir u promise to me that I will upload it soon....plz upload sir.
Diabetes lectures are on drbeen.com.
Thank you so much for this brilliant lecture, sir!
EXCELLENT ,KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Tx
What causes the beta secretase to be more activated than the alpha?
Honeyleen Balasbas hi !
GREAT LECTURE!!!
Thank you.
Sir pls sher more lecture on pathology like leture on orthopadic pathology
OK. Will do.
Thank you very much
this week my presentation will on Alzheimer diseases and u help me a lot.
Very good to know. Study well!

Thank you.
Thank you so much sir for your deep explanation, you have really cleared all my doubts, look forward to watching more of your videos in the subsequent topics.
Sir your lectures are very good. But it's a request while recording a lecture do keep mic little bit close to mouth as your voice is low comparatively, it's just a request and suggestion. 🙏
Veryy goooood sir it really helps in my todays presentation.....very simple understanding..
.i wish that u were in our college...
Thank You, Sir. This is so important to explain people, what Alzheimer disease is from the basic. My dad is 68yo and he has it. I noticed his memory loss before he was 40!!! I think that people may be born with this disease (??????) My dad had always problem to remember things: important dates, names, to understand things about retirement for example, which were obvious, sometimes he couldn't find right word to explain somenting simple, there were learning dificulties as well. I write from small village in Poland and we don't have many information here about this disease.
Sorry to hear about your dad. Glad that the lecture is useful. Hope he recovers.
Thank you so much for explain all the mechanism in so much detail by making it easy
Sir It's really Amazing totally very conceptual...I love it..
Sir plz explain extrapyramidal side effects tpoic
ApoE4 code beta or gamma secretase?
Nice lecture sir
awesome video !
Thank you Doctor, you saved my day
Thank you
