    Thats a good line! I like to start out in the middle and pull pretty hard for the left shore with my stern facing down river a bit. I would suggest keeping you stern facing down stream not up stream as the video shows. Pulling against the current in a rapid can lead to bad results. Let the current push you don't fight it. The 3rd boat illustrates my point well. He did not really change ground much above the final rock he was fighting the current. If he lets the stern swing down stream he would find the river will push him to the left like he wants with almost no effort. Running backwards is not too fun but needed in some places like China on the Lower.

      ok no and yes you do not want the current to take you you still want to push down river and braking waves/hole you want to push straight through them and not let them take you but and you want to avoid the waves still I have been on river trips with new guides that hit them and still flip

    Hey what’s the outboard motor set up you have in this video, interested in HP and motor mount

      It's a Nissan 6 HP motor with the long shaft. I use a cambridge welding transom. I also put on a burly prop guard.
