@Ephraim Dominic I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
David Attenborough’s narration: Every year the jet boats begin the difficult journey up the river against impossible currents. Some are not so lucky, but for the ones that do succeed, they will be able to spawn a new generation of jet boats and the cycle will continue. Me: isn’t nature amazing!
Great shots of the boat taking on this rapids. Handling waves in first run was not best. There is no better thrill than taking a jet upstream on these white waters
The poor blue boater just couldn’t get the hang of it till the end but put up one hell of a fight and won. Cool to see a definite pattern in the wave 🌊 and all way changing every sec so you have to see your own pattern that no one ☝️ else but you can see. That’s a dam good gift to have. Way to go for all who took part in that awesome talent of skilled professional pilots of these boats.👍🏼✅🤩😎
I saw boats do this up close while on a rafting trip on the Snake River thru Hells Canyon. there are serious hydraulics on these reeves. The guides told us that there are many a boat that gets sucked under by the hydraulics
That whitewater is so aerated that the jet is having a hard time "pumping" water for thrust. In whitewater like that a jet boat can loose 60% of it's thrust or power leaving a 300hp boat with just over 100hp effectively. I was helping build an off-grid cabin up river on the rogue river. We had heavy rain for a week and were expecting the river to be up and fast but wow. Just about every trip we made was with a ton of wood and a ton of building supplies. we got into a couple of aerated spots of water and lost most of our thrust and buoyancy, was quite scary.

@@Kitchfox there's a shit load of Salmon rivers in New Zealand. Have a search through youtube, you'll find heaps i reckon. One of the best (biased), is close to my old home town, Oamaru; it's the Waitaki River. I've seen some monster salmon jumping out where the fresh meets the salt, getting ready for their run... 30kg plus, and much bigger back when I was in my teens. Maybe it's not as good these days, as with most fishing, who knows.
Great video Maybe next year tow a tuber behind your boat that would be even more entertaining 🇨🇦 Greetings from Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
Years ago I had a 22' North River jet. Chevy 454, Hamilton 212 pump, extra wide, 1/4" bottom.......the wife said it was her or the boat. Well, glad to say I chose her. Couldn't tell you though what my ex is up to these days.
Curious... I run a lot of flat bottom jet Jon boats back in the Midwest and know very little about boating in white water (I do ww kayak though, so I know a little of the water conditions). Why aren’t they running left of center up the chute and then moving to the middle toward the top? Seems they could run on plane up the left side. Just playing?
I seem to recall that fish-like propulsion has been tried on boats, but it always fails. Fortunately or unfortunately, I've not dived into the topic to figure out why.
Please subscribe! It really helps!
Please add more information. It really helps. What are they doing? Why are they all drifting under no power back downstream?

Tremendous video. Thanks for posting! Hats off to every one of those guys who dream big and back up their dreams with action.
went there twice in the 80s. best trip on earth
That is some deadly serious boat handling skills by all involved.
That's my grandpa in the white boat. Not even kidding.
@@WiseNickVZW that’s badass
great video. I am coming out for one of these trips in the near future. Looks awesome. W

Awesome skills....lot of balls to do that.
That looks fun. Cool vid
Love those pedestal fishing seats on the aft deck.

Wave crawling! Like rock crawling but up rapids instead of cliff faces, very cool
So basically 4×4 on water...its beautiful.
Where ever they going, fishing must be crazy good. And time for a bigger boat.
Wow that was quite a ride, and thanks to the other two sleds
That was as good of a demo vid sas I've ever seen. So, the bigger engine it is!
fellah in the silver boat knows what he's doing

I soooo want a boat like that 🤤

Losing buoyancy sounds terrifying.
Next blackwater comeback
Shut up
Look ok oo
This pretty sick. Like rock crawling for boats.
Now we need a big mechanical bear to catch these metal salmon heading up stream..
do we
Insane and awesome!

Oh my god.. scarier than the longest river in Indonesia, the KAPUAS river 👍🏻
Fun to watch. But no way would I want to ride along. Thanks for posting so us chickens could enjoy from afar...
Those crazy new Zealanders have been mastering this for years
Looks more like the Salmon river in Idaho. Not sure if there's a Salman river in New Zealand but it's a common enough name who knows

need to try this!
Horsepower, brass balls and a good hull shape is all that you need!
Wow that’s extreme boating
Looks like fun!
Я невольно вдохнул и задержал дыхание, пока катера шли на подъем!
They are just having fun. To pass this easily you should go left first then just straight to the stream.
@T then drop a ton or so of weight. Then the river doesn't seem as shallow.... Your boats look super heavy compared to ours.
I was wondering why they were running the meat. That makes sense.
This is better than mud riding because you do not have to clean up afterwards.
Just your shorts.
Memang luar biasa untuk menghadapi tantangan alam, yang penting semangat dan keberanian kita, semangat selalu teman teman
Very strong boat👍
Splish splash, I was takin' a bath (Brandon on purpose)
one thing about this sport; a power failure at the wrong time and you are screwed
If that power failure happens...
Definitely would then appreciate a title of couch potato instead of a hero...

Nah man, check out the tiny outboard on the back. Should be fine. . . 😜
The name of your boat must be "Captain Obvious".
I imagine those hulls are constantly getting dinged up, but it's a hypnotic video to watch!
I can't imagine how bad this goes when you lose the engine.
No directional control and rocky shores. Probably very badly, total loss maybe. I’d be more worried about how I’m getting myself out the water though.
Great video
Maybe next year tow a tuber behind your boat that would be even more entertaining 🇨🇦
Greetings from Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦
Looked like the first boat had a hole in the bottom , I wonder if water weight was a issue.
Something mighty damn important upstream. I just dont know what it is yet. All I know is at every big river wave is a nice big rock.
So, its like surfing or slolom skiing? cool
I used to do this on the Snake River below Palisade Dam. My run was a joke compared to this
We’re gonna need a bigger boat!
Fuck! That was enjoyable to watch. Just subscribed keep them coming
What a dangerous sport

Mean water, great boats
Love it.
Guy in the Blue Boat.. probably he is one of the trainers, he really was having fun.weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

The blue boat looks like it has a deeper v entry than the rest of them , need a lot more power.
Pretty Impressive

Wow amazing
Boaters version of 4X4'ing.
i was thinking the same thing. there is easy lines, moderate and hard
Tharin 4Prez and bad ass boats love it
Little more extreme since the water will try to violently beat and murder you when things go wrong in the rapids
@@Alex-us2vw similar to tumbling down a mountain when 4x4 ing
This is like off-roading for boats. Off-lakeing if you will 😂
Nice boat
The first boat seemed clearly underpowered
Its smaller than the others.
It was Chevy powered others had Fords
He sucked at driving is all
Andrew B no it’s underpowered and not made for white water
First boat was taking on water. Watch the water pouring out from the bottom of the hull. Right where that dent is. Nice hole.
FUNNY how the salmon make it up thru the rapids no problem. Maybe the boats need some fins!
I seem to recall that fish-like propulsion has been tried on boats, but it always fails. Fortunately or unfortunately, I've not dived into the topic to figure out why.

Que legal.Agora , os caras são corajosos.
How do they know when to accelerate through the rapids?
I wonder if the first boat had problems due to the hole in the bottom?
