30 day declutter game. I have used it in February for a room and now in May for my shed.

Anything that results in a sale or passing on. I do shift stuff via Facebook Marketplace but it is slow going and the majority simply don't turn up or want free stuff delivered 20 and 30 miles away. But I got rid of a dinner set and teapot today so I'm happy that they are going to be used and I don't have to put nice things into landfill.

A mix of the Konmari-Method and the technique "nurwasichmag" (only what I like) from the RUclipsChannel "Typisch Sissi" and impulses from your channel. 🙃🌸🎉

Doing things by area is most effective for me. Like all shoes, all clothes, car, etc.
I also try to stick to 1 in 1 out as well. I just find myself going through a small area every once in a while by habit. Yesterday I went through my jewelry again, and got rid of the cheap bracelet I used for inspiration to make a higher quality one. It becomes a habit once you start, and that is always helpful.

Try doing the 30 day declutter backwards on 1st day get rid of 30 items then count down. Just to see uf I could do it.

I love the Konmari method! I was an extreme sentimental hoarder. I would hold on to a piece of trash if someone special gave it to me. I read her book and decluttered bag upon bag upon bag worth of stuff from my overflowing studio apartment. The Konmari method helped me get rid of all my initial stuff and now the mindset from Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning has kept me going- I don’t want my friends or family burdened with going through a bunch of my junk once I’m gone...
(I also liked her Tidying Up Netflix series even though I had already finished my major declutter)

TONS of great info- just would have loved some footage edited in that showed what each type of decluttering looked like :)

I recently went through all of my pens. We only use black and blue, so the first thing I did was get rid of any other coloured pens. Then trawled through the remainder of the pens to see which worked. I’ve de cluttered fairly extensively in the past, so it was a nice small activity to keep on top of things, especially as desk drawers can get seriously cluttered!

Just subscribed to your channel. Im loving decluttering and minimizing the stuff I own. It has helped my anxiety so much to have less. My favorite method is the single area method. Every time I am off I organize one area or room. I haven't done my kitchen yet. I know that will probably take me days, but I have done the rest of my house and it is life changing. I'm turning 30 in a week and I want to start this decade of life organized and ready to live intentionally.

I love the 30 day minimalism Game. I already did it 3 times. I like that it keeps me going for a limited periode of time. Keeps the motivation up.
But thank you for talking about the other methods, I will definitly try some of those.
    Greetings from Germany 👋

I've been working on decluttering off and on over the last year or so and I'd say that the 90/90 and 20/20 rule will probably be most helpful in really getting rid of unnecessary clutter.

Hi Ashlynne. All of your videos, that I like, I'm sharing on fb. I shared the 10 things that a minimalist wouldn't buy and I'm going to share this one. I downsized by 2/3rds 2 years ago, 2/3rds gone and I just finished downsizing again. I actually use my own method but I find that I like my apt and my possessions more now that there's fewer items around. I just love the fact that you listed 7 different methods! I had heard of the 4 box method, konmari method and backwards hanger method. Thanks.

I just got to know Ashlynne a couple of weeks ago and just realized that I used the „4 box method“ by accident, even though that I had to threw away over 90% of the stuff (a lot of wrongly storaged books from the 80s) in my garage 🤷🏼‍♀️ And the Point of momentum was strong with me. At some point I was almost mad that my family really kept and stored those books like that instead of just getting rid of them right away and not put that burden on me. But hey - they’re gone and I can finally park my car in the garage as it‘s supposed to be.

I decluttered videos ago but donated everything and now am moving things to one section of apt to sell or end up donating. I like your first few methods, going 1 day, 2nd, 2, etc...but have been so busy just trying to move things around. Flying out to find an apt, then come back, sell some stuff, or donate, get movers here for estimate, etc. 🎶🎶🎶

about to move in with my bf and recently got into decluttering (I used to be the kind of person to keep EVERYTHING) and feel like in terms of just clothes I did the 30 day minimalim challenge in one day haha
(I keep getting clothes from people but I usually don´t wear them but it feels rude to say no when they keep pushing me to say yes)
I don´t know, it just feels so nice to get rid of things I don´t need and make more space

Excellent video! I start with a specific area to declutter & it triggers me to take somethings from all areas as I'm quickly loading my car up for a big donation!

I really love the 20/20 rule. However I started to panic listening to it. I'm a super emotional person and I've been at so many points in my life where I had a ton of money and I was homeless with no money. I'm sort of in the lower end now. I have this fear of letting things go because I might not have that $20 to purchase it in 7 months from now. Life takes so many twists and turns and you never know where you will be... With 3 kids someone always needs something for an event or such randomly. So I would be spending $200 on items I am tossing due to the 20/20 rule. 😳 Any tips in my emotional situation? I really want to declutter but the idea of tossing money away when I might not have it later eats me up. 😔

Actually, the Konmari method discourages you from decluttering by area, and encourages you to declutter by category instead. Not sure if that was a slip of the tongue or you just haven't read the book
